This phenomenally sturdy waste receptacle is perfect for outdoor use in any environment. Business owners looking for a heavy, wind resistant waste receptacle configured to take a beating look no further, you found it. Though a bit expensive for home use, this waste receptacle could be an option for a sturdy recycling bin, or for a garage waste receptacle. The frame and side panels are steel frame with perforated steel sides. The top is also fabricated from steel. The top is removable to expose a 15 gallon plastic liner, which can be used directly for waste, or can be lined with a 15 gallon plastic bag. I am not sure what kind of paint was used for the steel, but the paint is uniform and seems thick, which should minimize corrosion and provide for excellent durability. This waste receptacle is probably not a good option for a kitchen because the interior remains open to air. Thus, odors can escape, and flying insects can easily enter the open spaces. However, this waste receptacle is perfect for a patio, deck, or other outdoor location. This product could be an excellent option if you host upscale backyard parties and need attractive waste receptacle options. While there are less expensive options for outdoor waste, most, and perhaps all of those less expensive options are relatively light and are not wind resistant. This receptacle weighs in at more than 50 pounds, which not only makes it wind resistant, by stable. It is attractive and painted in neutral color suitable for many environments, including indoor commercial or business environments and a home garage. This waste receptacle should be emptied frequently if used for organic waste products, such as food or garden debris. While it seems as though it would be difficult to wax enthusiastic about a waste receptacle, this one is so nice and perfect for out back patio that it has to be five stars. Enjoy! ... show more

This Safco trash can would be a wonderful edition to any park, large outdoor space (deck) or workplace. However, it's not ideal for a kitchen or small patio, which is what I got it for. It is at least 35 inches tall, very heavy and seemingly durable (I needed help getting it out of the box). It's way too big for my kitchen. The best thing is the lid is very easy to remove to put in liner. You will need a 15 gallon bag. If I could use it outdoors, this would have been awesome; but for indoor usage, not ideal. ... show more

This is an ideal workshop waste receptacle. We tried out a couple of places for it, but settled on the basement workshop for a couple of reasons. It's not a good choice for the kitchen, because it doesn't have a closed lid and so odors can get out... and cats can get (stuck!) in. That is not a pretty picture, believe me. It is somewhat better outside, because it's heavy and solidly built with a thick coat of weather resistant paint, but you would have to change the bag every time you use it, or live in a completely raccoon-free area, because otherwise it's a feast for your local trash panda. In the basement workshop, however, it's fantastic. It fits most small waste, like plastic scraps and cloth pieces and wood shavings. It fits some larger pieces as well. Since most of my workshop trash is non-stinky, the open top is just fine. I can also accidentally bang into it without worrying that it's going to fall over, even with my vac or while holding a project. It's a slightly larger size than indoor trashcans usually are (15 gallon instead of 12 or 8) so the bags are larger and sturdier and I can fit a lot more in before I have to change it. I do appreciate that it's covered even though I'm working indoors, because I don't accidentally drop things into it. I'd also like to note that it came very well packaged and that when I put it together, the metal sheeting was very sturdy and didn't bend or warp like a cheaper piece of sheet would have. The paint also didn't scratch from being slid against the other parts of the housing. ... show more

The Safco Products 9932BL Evos Steel 15 Gallon Waste Receptacle is a quality product that will give your backyard, property or park a finished look. The product was shipped to my front porch in a sturdy cardboard box with 1” foam packing boards inside to prevent damage to the paint during shipment. Inside the receptacle is a black plastic container that can be pulled out by opening the side metal door. The lid can be removed by lifting it off but the lid is heavy enough that it would not blow off in strong winds. When we placed this in our forest land, the receptacle was secured in position with a large 18” concrete pavestone to keep the can level. In the woods, the Safco Evos Steel Waste Receptacle stood out along the hiking trail with its sleek metal sides. The receptacle was placed next to a small resting area to give visitors a place to throw away any trash. In conclusion, I must agree with Safco in calling this a waste receptacle. The Evos style improved the charm of my property with a modern design on a required accessory we have all used for ages. ... show more

Excellent build quality. Attractive metal design. The plastic insert is very useful for cleaning or dumping purposes. I have this located in the garage. The 15 gallon version has a compact size which can fit almost anywhere in my garage. Very sturdy and won't get knocked over easily. This garbage can is not a good choice for inside the house. It's a bit industrial looking and the wide open cavity allows smells out and bugs in. Best suited for a permanent spot in the garage or outdoor space. ... show more
