I didn't want to review this lens right away, not until I had time to really put it through its paces. It came well packaged in a factory box with all accessories, indistinguishable from new. It works on my A7RV like it should, snappy autofocus, sharp at the long and short end, OSS works great. Other than reviewing the lens (there are tons of reviews of this lens on-line, so no need here) I am just speaking to the quality of this sellers refurbishment, and to that, I give two thumbs up for getting like-new quality at a decent discount for the refurbished 200-600mm lens. I don't know about other sellers or their refurbs, but this one is great. I'm including a couple of pics, a Roseate Spoonbill in flight, and a close up crop of a butterfly, showing that this lens is sharp up close even with heavy cropping, and also at 600mm at a distance where most people will use it. ... show more

    • Met my BIF/Birding performance expectation
I already have the FE 100-400 with 1.4XTC but I still need some extra reach esp. with BIF. Only its bulk and weight (compared to the FE100-400) was preventing me from acquiring it earlier. Finally surrendered to my needs and obtained this lens. Initially I was having some inconsistent sharpness issue and almost readying it to be sent back but after updating the FW, it was functioning well now. Also the shipment box was damaged (not well supported with fillers) that I thought the bent part of the lens box somehow affected the lens. Fortunately after the FW update, doubt about the lens damage lessen. When ordering, please ask the vendor to package it well. ... show more
