Description

The Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III VXD G2 (Model A063) provides outstanding resolution and superb overall performance in a lightweight and compact zoom lens for Sony E-mount full-frame mirrorless cameras. High definition and spectacular image quality are the key areas of advancements. The Model A063 features a redesigned optical system but maintains a size similar to its predecessor. The lens provides exceptionally strong optical performance, edge- to-edge across the frame, throughout the entire zoom range, along with the soft, beautiful bokeh effects that are distinctive to fast aperture lenses. The lens features Tamron’s VXD autofocus motor to enable high speed, high precision auto-focusing. Closeup shooting capabilities have also been improved and achieve an MOD of 7.1” at 28mm and a maximum image magnification ratio of 1:2.7. It is equipped with new, groundbreaking features that enable users to easily perform customization and firmware updates themselves, without purchasing the Tamron TAP-in Console. For example, users can reverse the direction of the focus ring for manual focus operation. Additionally, Tamron has adopted a new design with improved ergonomics and revised the exterior coating of the lens body to improve scratch resistance. The filter size is 67mm, which is standard among Tamron's fast aperture zoom lens series and enables the sharing of lens caps, filters, and other accessories. In addition to features such as Moisture-Resistant Construction and a protective Fluorine Coating, the lens supports various features built into Sony E-Mount cameras, including Fast Hybrid AF, Eye AF and in-camera lens corrections (shading, chromatic aberration, distortion).

  • Fantastic versatile lens with great image quality
The Tamron 28 to 75mm f2.8 G2 is an excellent lens for Sony cameras. The image quality is very sharp and the constant f2.8 aperture makes it great for both photography and video. It performs very well in different lighting conditions and produces beautiful background blur. Autofocus is fast and quiet, which is perfect for video work and capturing quick moments. The lens also feels well built while still being lightweight enough to carry around for long shoots. Overall this is a fantastic all around lens that covers a very useful focal range. Great option for portraits, events, everyday shooting, and content creation. Highly recommended for Sony users. ... show more

  • Excellent lens except for the weight
Excellent color, resolution, and contrast. Rapid and quiet autofocus. My only issue with this wonderful lens is the weight. It is solidly built. I use it on my a7m4 and my a7C and it can get heavy when using it all day. Problem solved with a monopod with a ball head I use as a walking stick.

  • Surprisingly excellent, fantastic lens for the money
Bought this lens to pair with a Sony A7CII. Although it's a little long with that body, it's still super lightweight and easy to carry around all day, which I did in the Grand Canyon. Autofocus is super fast and silent and the zooming feels great, nice and smooth and well damped. Sharpness is also excellent and overall you just can't beat it for the price, especially if you're looking for that bright f/2.8 aperture. ... show more

  • Probably one of the best zoom lens on the market.
I find myself gravitating towards grabbing this lens and usually keeping it in my bag or on my camera for a variety of photoshoots. I do a lot of portraiture on-location, and the zoom allows me to quickly adjust in-camera versus cropping later. Build quality: Not overly heavy, has both manual zoom and a manual focus ring. Has a USB-C right on it to update the firmware directly versus through having the camera plugged in. Autofocus: It struggles a little in lower-light situations, or when there are foreground elements but in these artistic shots, you want to be manually focusing anyways. Clarity/Sharpness: For pixel peepers, you are going to run into some chromatic aberrations. This isn't going to be as crisp as a prime lens, either. However, for a zoom lens it does really well. Weather seal: Doesn't seem to have much in terms of a weather seal, I found some dust on my camera sensor after leaving this lens on the body for a couple of days. Would I recommend this lens? Yes. This is a great lens especially for when you need to pack light, or can't bring a variety of prime lens. Being able to go from 28mm-70mm allows for a large range of different compositions you can create with a single lens. This is great for both landscapes, architecture, and portraits. For wildlife, I would probably recommend the 70-200mm lens instead. ... show more

  • Great lens at a great price
Great quality for the prize. I love the zoom range and the ability to have 2.8 aperture throughout the full length. Great for a beginner photographer wanting to take their photos to the next level.

  • Versatile and High-Quality lens for Sony E-Mount Cameras
Pros: - Versatile focal length range of 28-75mm - Wide maximum aperture of F/2.8 for low-light photography - High-quality optics deliver sharp and detailed images - Compact and lightweight design for portability Cons: - Autofocus performance may not be as fast or precise in certain situations - Some users may prefer additional focal length options Summary: The Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III lens is a versatile and high-quality option designed for Sony E-Mount cameras. With a focal length range of 28-75mm, it offers versatility for various photography genres, from landscapes to portraits. The wide maximum aperture of F/2.8 enables excellent low-light performance and beautiful background bokeh. The lens delivers sharp and detailed images thanks to its high-quality optics, while its compact and lightweight design enhances portability. However, autofocus performance may not be as fast or precise in certain situations, and some users may desire additional focal length options. One of the standout advantages of the Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III lens is its versatile focal length range of 28-75mm. This range covers a wide variety of photography genres, allowing users to capture everything from expansive landscapes to close-up portraits with a single lens. The wide maximum aperture of F/2.8 is a significant advantage, particularly for low-light photography. It enables the lens to gather more light, resulting in better exposure and image quality in challenging lighting conditions. Additionally, the wide aperture creates a pleasing background blur (bokeh) effect, adding a professional and artistic touch to the images. The lens utilizes high-quality optics to deliver sharp and detailed images. It minimizes optical distortions and aberrations, ensuring excellent image quality throughout the focal length range. Another advantage is the lens's compact and lightweight design, which enhances portability and makes it suitable for various shooting situations. This makes it an ideal choice for photographers who value mobility without sacrificing image quality. However, the autofocus performance of the lens may not be as fast or precise in certain situations compared to some higher-end options. While it generally performs well in most scenarios, it may struggle in challenging or fast-paced situations that require quick and accurate focusing. Additionally, some users may desire additional focal length options, such as wider angles or longer telephoto capabilities. The 28-75mm range covers a significant focal length span, but those with specific photography needs may find the range limiting. In summary, the Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III lens offers versatility, high-quality optics, and excellent low-light performance for Sony E-Mount cameras. Its focal length range, wide aperture, and compact design make it a versatile tool for various photography genres. • Good lens for a good price!
This is my favorite lens to use for wedding videography. Sharp, clear, fast AF, good range for what I do as well. Doesn’t break the bank either!
