Price was right and the product arrived in perfect working order! A note I will make is I have a very small yard so battery life was fine for my needs but if you have a large yard or plan on using it as an edger as well as weed eater you may wish to have an extra battery to swap out.

it was mostly assembled. i only had to screw on the guard (screws included and the right size) and snap in the handle. looked brand new and it had clearly never been used (i can assure you of that considering how it looked after one use). the weight of the battery on top takes some getting used to, as does the mechanism for releasing more nylon string, and as others have mentioned, the battery life is relatively short on high. but it does the job and i already owned another one+ battery so it wasn’t an issue. ... show more

    • Ryobi couldn't have field tested this product.
Not balanced very well, use only on small yards. I like the advance concept on the string, every time you pull the trigger it advances a little bit of string. I had to modify the razor line cutter, it has one hole and spins out of place after trimming the line a couple of times. You will need to drill two holes on the outer edges and screw it in place. The head rotates for edging or line trimming, when line trimming, it releases and continuously goes a to position halfway between the two. Any bump and the lock releases, I will probably get some adhesive and lock it into the line trimmer position. This is very annoying. If I didn't need and extra battery for my other Ryobi tools that are great, I would have definitely sent this back. If the engineers had gone out and "weed-eate'd" one small yard, they would have gone back to the drawing board and a better product would be out. Always field test. ... show more
