  • Useless
Since this product has been ordered in 9/24/2022, and deliveered back in 9/29/2022, this products has never been started. During this difficult days I have contacted to a seller BT-Smart agent Mr.Basil Aza in Georgia and we have tried to fix it but still not fixed it and has been sitting down in my garage. In the meantime I have bought ASURION 3 years Lawn and Garden Extended Protection Plan. How can I handle this problem? ... show more

  • Love this electric riding mower
Product is great. Has enabled me to mow my lawn in under an hour whereas it used to take 3 hours with my previous push electric mower. The seller was great to work with, very responsive and flexible. I recommend this product and the seller.

  • Not completed
I dislike the fact that I still have to finish printed together before I can try it out. I don't have a steering wheel as yet.

  • Boat anchor
Bought the 54” zero turn mid-June 2021. Early-June 2022, the blades starting shutting off with 40% remaining. I called Ryobi for service and they gave us our local service center. I left messages at the service center a few times and they never called back. Grass is getting out of control so I called Ryobi again. Now they tell me I’m a few days beyond our warranty. Yeah, because I’ve been trying to get your service center to return my call!! Ryobi offered the canned apology and invited me to trailer it up to a different service center further away to “see what they can do”. The service center fought for me and got the batteries replaced for free. Fall 2023 the batteries started doing the same thing. I figured I’d pick the fight back up over the winter. Fast forward to Spring 2024 and blades are shutting off again with 30% remaining and now 40%. I have to mow my yard in 2 separate charge cycles. Called Ryobi and they told me “the batteries only have a one (1) year warranty and are only warranted from your ORIGINAL purchase date in 2021”. Huh??? I even asked if they would credit me $1,000 and I would convert this mower from garbage lead acid batteries to lithium iron OR credit me $5,000 for my whole mower and I would spend $2,000 of my own money to buy Ryobi’s now upgraded Lithium Iron battery mower (call me stupid for offering to throw good money after bad). I got a solid “Nope” with no discussion. So now do I spend $1,000 for new set of lead acid or “deep cycle” batteries that will last… yep, 1 year? Spend $1,500 and numerous hours to convert to Lithium Iron? Or do I drag this worthless boat anchor to the recycle center to at least get $35 for the batteries and scrap metal? I’ve heard jokes about Ryobi using the public as testing grounds before rolling an item out under their Milwaukee brand. Affirmed. ... show more

  • Poor support and hard to find parts
Buyer beware! They send you to third party support that you have to pay for and a third party part store! I need a new charging receptacle and it costs $250 on back order! The third party company has stated they will let me know when it is back in stock and that they will move my name up to near top of the list! I have a sneaking suspicion that there will be no part! I figure Ryobi quit making these parts because my mower the 480e has become obsolete and not being made any longer! I think maybe the part company is trying to track down a used one and charge me a high price for it! I bought mine from Home Depot and they are absolutely no help when you call them! All they do is sale the thing! I guess if you are the real hands on fix it type this mower is for you but if you need parts or help lookout! You are in for a rough ride! ... show more

  • Not bad for the best Lead Acid Technology
I purchased an RM480 shortly after it hit the market. 48 volt, 75 Ah battery pack. After 4 years, the batteries were barely servicable, only able to cut 1/2 our yard. I looked at LiFePO4 systems during the pandemic, but went with 100Ah Lead Acid. The bigger batteries fit the tray at the extreme limits, and the added weight along with my own mass means the mower will not tip over on our undulating side yard. Currently (pun intended) I'm on my third Ryobi key switch since the little buggers are flimsy and fail after a bit. I'd rather put a marine key on the control panel but the connections are different. Once you cut the wiring, you have to remember to jury rig that part of the wiring harness during future repairs. I'm not inclined to purchase a Ryobi wiring harness just so any technician repairing the mower can figure out what is wrong with the device. All in all, I find with the 100 Ah batteries it has been a very good little mower. I do find fault with the design. FIrst, I cut along an undulating side yard and the front mower deck "fixed but adjustable" wheels easily bend under when the mower running and turning on uneven ground. I know a spring assembly holding the wheel allowing it to caster around the terrain would keep the deck at the proper settings even if it requires more engineering to accomplish. Maybe I'll find an old Lawn-boy spring assembly and adapt it! Secondly, I have to back the mower at times. The problem is the speed controller takes the forward signal from the pedal in tiny increments from creep to full speed with a large range of possibilities. The reverse signal starts at about 4x creep speed and then almost immediately moves to the full speed range. If you wish to back up around an object, you really have to get used to the pedal's reverse jerking motion. If only the two speed control algorithms were the same, backing up would be easy and safer! Thirdly, I am a big guy - 6'4" and 265 lb. The seat is adequate all the way back, but just barely! But without arm rests or a seat belt, I find on the ins and outs of the yard's dips keep me sliding from side to side on the seat. Personally I'd like armrests that swing up, but just this seat with a seat belt would be an improvement. I'll figure out how to reset the Amperage gauge to reflect the increased amperage of the battery pack as it shows my pack maxed out when fully charged. I guess there is a way to reset it to 100 Ah instead of full being 75 Ah. Mechanically it is easy to adjust the steering and mower deck height - if you like wrenching! If not, then get a good mower mechanic who isn't afraid of troubleshooting electrical systems. ... show more

  • If (When) You Need Service, Too Bad For You
I was happy with this product for the first year. After that, it developed a problem with the off/on switch. I found that none of the lawn mower repair shops will touch it. The nearest service center is 50 miles away and I have no way to get it there. It now sits in my garage as a reminder of my gullibility. ... show more
