I recently tried the RV Awning Side Sun Shade Screen, and find it has really improved outdoor RV experience. If you're in the hot sun and the awning isn't positioned to run block, this product is a game-changer. You'll love the extra comfort and privacy. I'm giving it 5 stars because the "upgraded 8.11 oz high-density mesh" is no joke - blocking "up to 95% of harmful UV rays," and it makes a real difference in keeping my RV cooler during hot summer days. No more squinting or feeling the intense heat – it truly protects your eyes and interior from direct sunlight. I got this for airflow and shade, but it also adds an element of privacy too - all without feeling cooped up. It's the best of both worlds! The "Easy Installation & Universal Fit" claim is somewhat spot on. The screen does come with all accessories needed for a quick, tool-free setup; however, I cannot reach the awning of either of my RVs. So, YES - this does provide everything needed - except a ladder! This is very portable, very lightweight, and folds down easily and compactly for storage. Despite being lightweight, the material feels durable, and it actually looks good. My photos don't make it look as nice as it really looks in person. I do feel like it's durable enough to last through many seasons. It's amazing how much difference a little shade and privacy can make. Measure - and grab one. This purchase is one you won't regret. I sure hope my review is helpful for you!

I have several observations: It is impossible for the manufacturer to angle the top edge to meet every awning, so it will likely not match yours. I learned this when installing it the first time. Put lined up the top edge even with my awning, which is only at a shallow angle, and the bottom edge was not parallel to the ground. I then moved the tie-off point of the outer/upper corner to a tie-down line I had also installed (not included in this kit), and that leveled it out nicely. It just left a gap at the top. One of the stakes broke when I was driving it into rocky soil. Steel dog stakes would work much better. The shade was a welcome addition to our picnic table area on a very hot summer day. Just keep in mind that it is not 100% shade. It is a relief, though. Also keep in mind that the shade appears much thinner in my photos than it does in person. It blocks more than these photos show.

Size: 7'x9' Side Shade
This is a kit to add an extra shade to your rv awning, including a 7' x 9' black mesh sheet, four stakes, four bungees, and a storage bag. The shade screen has grommets and is designed to hang down from your extended awning. It's fairly easy to attach if you lower your awning and attach the top of the shade screen before raising the awning into final position. Then you simply stake down the bottom of the shade screen and you're ready to go. This is a very effective way to keep the sun off of the side of your coach and gives you extra shade when you are sitting under the awning. The awning is quite thick and substantial, with heavily stitched seams. The storage bag is generous in size and I actually was able to fold the awning up and fit it back into the bag fairly easily. This is an inexpensive way to give you extra shade and give your a/c unit a break on those really hot sunny days.

As you can see from the picture, I had to use this RV shade in a slightly different way. I had a sun problem on my back covered porch. The sun during the afternoons would beat down on anyone sitting on the porch. The angle was just right to peek between the palm tree and the roof. This shade eliminates the direct sun without comprising the view. This side shade designed to work with an RV awning works perfectly.` ` The angled top fit the slope of the roof. The shade seems to be well made with double stitching and the grommets are tight. The shade was super easy to install in this application and since I do also own a travel trailer, I noticed this shade would be easy to install on that awning as well. The shade is well worth the price. It comes with easy to follow instructions and the extra bungee cords and ground stakes need to properly anchor it to the ground. Luckily in my application I was able to use the bungees to help secure it to the posts and railing to help secure the shade. AS you can also see from the pictures, this is my temporary install since I am using spring clips to secure the top. Once I see exactly where it needs to be positioned, I will install grommets in the top edge and properly fasten the top to the roof.

Good shade is provided, but the orientation can be confusing. The large size made installation challenging, although we managed it. Removal and reattachment are somewhat cumbersome. This product is best suited for stationary use.

The sun shade appears to be good quality and as advertised. However, this does not a Faimma awning, common on Mercedes Sprinter / Airstream conversion vans. Make sure the awning rolls up from the end of the awning and not from the roof of the van. Would love to find a sunshade for my type equipment.

Size: 7'x9' Side Shade
I have three favorite beach campsites at a state park, all level and close to the beach but with one major drawback, brutal afternoon sun. I only evaluated the smaller screen, only needing to block the Western exposure. I can confidently say this RV awning sunshade has been a game changer as far as dropping the temperature under my awning. I like that it blocks most of the sun, and unlike using a tarp, I still have visibility of everything happening on the other side of the screen. It was a piece of cake to install and fold up nicely in the included bag for travel. Bottom line, it's well made and should last a long time. Be advised that my needs only required blocking the short side, camper to awning, not the full length. You should measure the length of your awning to get an appropriate size to fit your needs.
