    • Buy the old version. This one is not reliable/safe
I’m incredibly disappointed with the new version of this door. I loved the old one and didn’t have any issues. This new door is constantly having issues closing and is so unsafe for the chickens. I won’t put this on a chicken coop. I took it off and am now using it for the barn cat as she cares less about if the door opens or not. And she can defend herself or hide if a predator was to go in the open door at night when it doesn’t shut. If you are not able to check that this door is working every night at sunset this is not the door for you. The old version worked in incredibly well and the one I have from two years ago is still working great. Every time this new version of the door has an update the door won’t shut all the way or won’t open. The new app update is also harder to use and less reliable. And I hate that you can’t manually open and close the door with the little button like you could on the old version. This version you have to use your phone and Bluetooth. Don’t buy this door. It is not worth $100 and it’s is not reliable. The old version is great and would 10/10 recommend that one. ... show more

I like this version better because it has features so you can keep it from staying shut when frozen and turn off the feature of it opening when something gets in the way. More customizable. Lack of manual button is good in my opinion because of the fear of a raccoon easily being able to push the button and get in. ... show more

Have 2 of these, one for the actual chicken coop and another for my chicken run! I love them, super reliable. Chickens can safely enter and exit with the no pinch setting. They are a little more pricey than other brands but I went with cheaper to start with and the other brand did not hold up. I would say well worth the price. Easy to install and use! ... show more

We have the previous model which had a manual button for times you are out at the coop and don’t have your phone. You can manually close the door. This new one for another coop only operates using a phone. I set it up and so far it has not opened at all unless i go out there in the morning and open it with my phone. I hope to get that problem resolved but this review is for the lack of manual button. ... show more

I'm not a one star type of guy, so I'll give this two. The door sounded weak from the start. I installed two of these and they functioned identical; less than mediocre. I can't believe I paid that much money and didn't receive a decent product. My mistake. Upon install of the doors, they either didn't fully open or fully close, so I modified my install and built a frame thinking a small torsion would stop the door. With this small modification, operation improved slightly. If you can't verify every morning or night for proper operation, do not buy this door. As for the app, it works great when it actually opens. The only positive aspect of this door is that it's gear driven and would be great if the motor had more power. ... show more

This chicken door does exactly what it's supposed to do, which is more than I can say for the other chicken doors I tried first! I set it for a certain time of day and it opens and closes when it should. No one has been injured or trapped by it. It does stop if something is in the way. HORRIBLE! I have two of the old models that are 3 years old and they work great. This new one is awful. I have to go out and manually open and close it every single day. My coop is far from my house so the bluetooth disconnects wver time i walk away from it. It has locked my chickens out multiple times and the open at dawn and close at dusk never works.
