Purchased this for my OTF classes because the longer distance rows were causing me pain. Have been using this for a little while now and it has totally resolved the problem. I am writing this based off of assembly as I only have had this put together for one day and cannot speak to its performance just yet as a rowing machine. I have dropped a star based off of the quality of the assembly instructions. There are some incorrect and missing information, such as they way that you would put the flat ans spring washer on the bolts. As well as which tool to use for certain things. It's not a big issue, but for someone who might be following the instructions exactly, it will be an issue. Otherwise, assembly of this product was pretty easy. The only other issue I has was with mounting the screen, as one of the screw holes was missing the metal insert in the back of the screen and was screwing into the plastic of the screen backing. ... show more

    • Good for sculling
While I have used this pad on my erg, I mostly use it on the water where I've used it for both sweep rowing and sculling. It grips the boat seat really well so I have no issues at all with it slipping while I am rowing or getting out of the boat (my only issue has been when I've gotten into the boat clumsily.) I've nearly lost it a few times when I forgot it was there and lifted the boat out of the water overhead. (It grips but has it's limits! :-) It's thin and easy to slip into the back waistband of my tights or pants while carrying the boat to the water. I have an issue with something that feels like nerve pain on one side when I sit in the boat for a while. This pad helps some and I suppose would work better in that regard if it were thicker. But I'm sticking with it because a thicker pad will affect my height in the boat and my oar handles which I don't want. ... show more

The quality of this item is very nice and it was as described but it is a little disappointing. After sitting on it for a while, you can tell it's there but it's almost like having nothing there at all again. This item would be five star to me if only it was a quarter to half inch thicker. Other wise it is just okay. It looks great, fits the machine, but after being used for a bit, it will be as if nothing was there at all. Disappointing. ... show more

Quick delivery. Well made. Using it on a Hydrow and it fits the seat well. It doesn’t provide quite enough cushioning for me when rowing for 30 minutes or longer.

    • Great for Distance
I got this because my Tailbone chafes. So I started using this and Chamois Butt’r (typically for bikers) I experienced chafing at the following distances and conditions: 1) ~2.5km (No cushion, No Butt’r) 2) ~4km (Cushion, No Butt’r) 3) Never (Cushion, Butt’r) Using option 3, I could even row with chafe burns and it did not prevent them from healing. Butt’r is really what prevents the chafing I think, but the seat makes things so much more comfortable by taking pressure off of pressure points and I don’t row without it ever. It doesn’t slide on the seat and still shows no signs of wear after ~500km on it. ... show more
