Wasn’t sure why the hubs wanted this but oh well. It installed very nicely for him he said and he likes it. I think he wanted it for the looks. It did make a whistling noise but you can move the bars when not in use so it doesn’t make the noise.

    • Caused an accident on highway.
This is so cheaply made. The front cross bar SNAPPED off NOT due to user error (literally right in half), and we lost our kayak on the highway. I returned what I had remaining. Please do not buy this for the safety of yourself and others on the highway. It CANNOT handle what is advertised.

Got the product directions sucked then when I figured it out the screws holes were not tapped in the bracket so no way to secure it. No warranty info and no number to call so have to return

I have been wanting a roof rack for my truck for a long time. Finally got one where most of the reviews were positive and it looks absolutely cool. Install wasn't too bad, I did have to bend some of the brackets to get the fit right but all the holes lined up and it sits nice and flush on top of my truck. Material is good quality and hopefully will hold up well to weather. Looks great and I love how it changes tye entire look of my truck. ... show more

I have been considering a roof rack for my 2015 Tacoma double cab for some time. At the time that I ordered this rack, it was one of the highest-priced OEM clones ($200), and one of the lowest rated. I was hesitant to order it and install it, but it turned out to be a mostly good addition to my truck. Although my package arrived with all of the necessary hardware and all required parts ready for installation, I watched YouYube videos prior to installation to hear what some experienced people had to say about installing this product. I definitely recommend that you do the same thing prior to installing this product, as the provided instructions were lackluster at best, and ignored some critical pieces of information for proper installation. First, you will be breaking waterproof seals under your roof lining as part of the installation. In some cases, this can allow rain water to seep into your truck's cabin. Although some foam washers were provided, these will not do much to stop water from getting in, so I absolutely recommend that you caulk around all of the washers with silicone. Second, make sure to push the plastic housing into place on the rubber seal. Both of my racks pushed little bits of the rubber seal out, which helped them get a firmer hold on the seal and ensure an even, secure fit on my roof. I do want to call out that this rack was advertised as aluminum, but in reality it is mostly plastic. The main housing is plastic, which sits on top of a softer plastic, rubbery seal. Only the arms themselves are a powder-coated aluminum, but even those are attached by plastic joints. This was a surprise to me, as I felt that the materials used for a non-OEM roof rack didn't justify the $200 price tag. After watching YouTube videos on the process, installation was pretty straightforward. I had all of the necessary parts, and fitment and alignment were pretty seamless with proper attention to detail and making sure everything was under the correct seal. I did use liberal portions of silicone (not provided) to help prevent leaks through the foam washers. In the end, my rack fit my 2015 Tacoma double cab very well. It looks nice, and feels like a solid addition to my truck that SHOULD hold my kayak. I do have concerns, as I read another review that stated this rack broke while carrying a kayak on the highway. The arms are made of aluminum, but they are attached to plastic joints. A heavy load, or strong resistance (aka high speed) could theoretically overwhelm these arms. I would be careful not to put too much load on this rack, given that information, and wouldn't recommend more than one kayak on the roof. I would also avoid high speed, as the tie-downs are just plastic loopholes. I am also concerned about the plastic housing. It feels like ABS plastic, but I didn't see a label stating that. Hopefully it resists sun bleaching, because this rack would quickly lose its visual appeal if it fades in color. That is something I will be watching for very keenly. In all, this seems like a fairly nice OEM clone Tacoma roof rack. Only the arms are made of aluminum, so I don't think the $200 price tag matches the value of what you get. But it did line up on my 2015 Tacoma double cab well, and looks nice immediately after installation. With proper use, this should be a good rack for hauling a single kayak or light luggage. Recommendations if you purchase this: 1) watch YouTube videos about installing OEM Tacoma roof racks prior to doing any modifications to your truck 2) buy silicone caulk to seal all the nuts and bolts 3) push down and clamp the plastic housing to the rubber seal prior to lining it up on your roof 4) do not discard your trucks original roof seals in case you decide to remove this rack ... show more

Nice roof rack that does exactly what it says it will do. Strong and sturdy and not a problem to install, although do get someone to help as that makes a huge difference. Very nice. :)
