Who would know this tool had so many applications for me! I ordered it to assist in additional insulation of my attic. It worked like a charm for that. It shows you where thermal differences in the ceiling are, “cold bridges” and such and you can figure out the best bang for the buck places to insulate first. I thought that’s the only thing I’ll ever use it for - wrong! The next thing I noticed - it shows me studs on exterior walls, because these are always cooler. Next time I needed to hang something on the wall - I grabbed this tool and it was perfect for that. Forget stupid “stud finders” - thing shows you all of them at once. Then, the time came to repaint a ceiling in kids bathroom, it had a bunch of protruding nails which I normally replace with screws when refinishing ceiling and then repaint. When the nail head is fully exposed - I can easily address it. The problem is when there is a bulge on the drywall but the nail is not visible. Normally I’d guess where it is, and try to get it. More often than not I miss, and end up having huge hole rather than tiny hole, after few attempts. This camera shows you nail heads exactly! No guessing involved. The metal has different thermal signature and it is cooler in winter if on the exterior wall. Watch it, mark it, done! More recent application (but I am sure not the last) - when washing carpet. After I wash carpet I normally test if it dried by touching it. Not reliable method and you cannot touch all of it. And it never dries evenly. This tool shows me exactly when and where the carpet is dry (its temperature will match corners) and where it is still wet. See photo. This removes any guessing from the process and prevent wet socks!:)

i love it helped me spot airflow leaks in my house and even a window that was leaking that i had no clue well worth the money. id say the only downside would be the screen update as it freezes often when sensing different temp ranges

This unit actually works better than a $3,000 unit! We had out concrete floors scanned for in-floor heat runs. They used a unit that was over $3,000. It worked good. We ended up moving some walls around and was not comfortable "hoping" we didn't hit anything. I bought this unit and could see the pipes in the concrete better than their unit.

I'm a plumber. I bought this one first then bought TC 004 $100 more price because of the high review. When I compare both found this one is far better in resolution and clarity except the build quality. Tc004 More heavy because of large battery and 15% better build quality. I don't need that extra large battery this one is more than good enough for daily work. As well as I love the resolution and picture clearity. So I return that tc004 and keep this one. I'm writing this review after 2 months and I am 100% happy for my buy.

Intuitive right out of the box. Works like a super-simple digital camera. The settings are easy and it's easy to take photos if you want and get them to your computer. Also, I like the little flip lens cover.
