  • Improved TV sound and functionality in a small package
Size: (Pack of 1) Style: without Wireless Bass
I want to start by giving this 5 stars but with a caveat. It is a five star device as long as you understand that it's not a 5.1 surround sound system and have the appropriate expectations. The Roku Streambar SE combines the functionality of a compact soundbar with the added function of a Roku streaming device which is two great things to have in one package. First I'll talk about the device itself and some advantages. The device has a compact design that easily blends into any home entertainment setup. It doesnt take up much room below the TV like a 2 foot long sound bar would. It features a couple decent speakers that deliver clear and relatively immersive sound. Compared to just TV speakers, there is a big jump in audio quality of your movies, shows, and music. There is a noticeable amount of bass, mids, and voice clarity. But it's not going to be as good as a larger soundbar with a dedicated subwoofer. I love the Roku functionality and that it has 4K, HD, and HDR streaming capabilities versus some of the lower end Roku sticks. You get crisp and vibrant video playback. And all of the apps associated with a Roku device. Setting up the Streambar SE is straightforward with Roku's guided setup process. It integrates well with any modern TV, offering a user-friendly interface that allows quick access to a wide range of streaming channels and apps. It's much less complicated than a multi-piece soundbar. As a Roku device, the Streambar SE provides access to thousands of channels and streaming services, including popular platforms like Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+. It supports wireless connectivity, allowing you to stream content directly from your smartphone or tablet to the TV screen. This is of course the case for any Roku device. The Price is extremely competitive at netween 80 and a 100 bucks. You get a lot of value for anyone looking for an easy upgrade their TV's sound quality while gaining access to a versatile streaming device. I keep stating this but having both in one device is very beneficial. Overall, The Roku Streambar SE is an ideal choice for anyone seeking to improve their TV's audio performance and streaming. Itbhas a very compact design, decent enough sound quality, and a great Roku interface. it's a great device that caters to someone looking for a simple upgrade, someone with limited space, or someone that just wants better sound and doesn't need theater surround sound, which is probably a large amount of people. A side note. This is a relatively new model. There is a larger model that slots above it if you want to increase the sound quality. You can also add a subwoofer to this for extra cost which would improve the bass response. It's nice to have the flexibility. ... show more

  • All-In-One Done! All-In-One Done!
Size: (Pack of 1) Style: without Wireless Bass
Some years ago I decided to kick my bloated cable bill aside and became an early adopter of Roku. It was basically a USB powered HDMI stick and a remote. It took a bit of hair-tearing and spicy language to get it set up and working, but once dialed-in, it's worked very well. That is, until recently.... Time has marched, stomping especially hard on the remote. It maddeningly works when it wants....blipping happily along for a few minutes, and then - let it go, let it go, it's frozen! Slapping it, swapping batteries, yelling at it all seemed to work, or not, depending on its mood. We got by using the phone remote, but that was just "getting by." There was another issue: the sound coming out of my flat screen was...well...flat. I don't know if the speaker is damaged or my bass-heavy settings were making it sound bad, but bad it sounded. Voices especially. Imagine my joy, then, when I spotted this little guy! A new, more up-to-date Roku streaming device built-in to a new, much-needed speaker! Plus a brand new remote, all for much less than a typical sound bar. I snapped it up ASAP, preparing for a fresh round of breaking a sweat and colorful language. But, BONUS: Roku has progressed a long way since I bought that old stick and, for the most part, setup was a breeze! The Roku sound bar is less "bar," but does have stereo high-end speakers in a nice compact cabinet. And yes, the bass is amazing for a speaker of its size. There is a small port in the back that allows it to move enough air to produce a satisfying deep sound. Crisp, not flat! I blocked out two hours to install it. I had it up and running in 20 minutes. Even connecting to the Roku phone remote app took a fraction of the time than with the first unit. All problems fixed quickly, and the picture is stunning! (Was it always this clear, or is it my cleaning during installation?) I really couldn't be happier. Add a + to the stars above and grab one! Oh, and on a side note, if the stellar small-speaker bass isn't enough for you, there's an optional Bluetooth subwoofer that is available according to details in the package. I'm thinkin' about it... ... show more

  • 👍Nice product! 👍Nice product!
Size: (Pack of 1) Style: without Wireless Bass
I spent countless hours looking at sound bars. I was looking for sound quality, size, price, and ease of connection. I read review after review and kept tally on everything I was looking for. This little bar checked off all boxes. I had to wait on ease of connection until after it arrived and I began hooking it up. WOW! It is so simple! I am 74 and sometimes the simplest of instructions is a major battle to understand and complete ( includes furniture!). My Roku TV did all the setting up. I just inserted 2 wires, (4 ends,) and bingo, its done! Really! The sound is clear and the volume self adjusts to the more action packed or louder commercials! And the price, is under $100. I live in about 600 s.f. and this is the perfect little sound bar! It is compact in size, keeping extra space open. I definitely recommend. I couldn't be happier. ... show more

  • Amazing Soundbar With An Okay Remote
Size: (Pack of 1) Style: without Wireless Bass
We had a need to upgrade the streaming device we use in our home gym, but was also looking to have the option of a better speaker. We are a huge Apple household and wanted the ability to potentially AirPlay music to whatever speaker we selected as well. This Roku Streambar SE solved getting a new streaming device and the audio setup we wanted. Setup of this Streambar was crazy easy. All the needed cables, both an HDMI and optical cable are in the box. What’s nice is you don’t have to really use the optical cable if all you’re going to use on the TV is the Roku. After getting everything plugged in, setup and software update went smoothly as expected with any other Roku device we have purchased. The size of this device is pretty small for a soundbar, but the sound is actually really good. I’ve never had it above 25 out of a 100 and it’s almost too loud. As expected, the louder you get it, it can have some sound issues, but for general use, it works great. I’ve got this setup in Apple HomeKit, which is great for two reasons. First, you can control it through the Apple Home app. Second, it becomes an AirPlay target. You can not only cast video to it, but music as well, which works great. I changed the setting for Fast TV Start, so while it appears off, it can turn on once you start casting music to it. This works super well for quickly sending music to it and then it turns the TV on as well. From a build quality, the soundbar is a solid piece of tech. The remote is the cheap one they traditionally pack with their devices. It’s IR only, does not really control your TV unless your TV allows control through the HDMI, which most do now. I opted to upgrade to their Pro controller, which is also backlit. Wish it shipped with that. Otherwise the performance of the device is great. Easily connected to our WiFi and TV. It has all the apps you will need available in their store. Navigation is pretty quick, but it is a little slow when launching apps, but that’s not a deal breaker. Overall I like this device a lot and it’s great for smaller rooms, home gyms, or potentially a home office. Only things that would make it better are a better remote control (that you can upgrade for additional money) and a faster UI. ... show more

  • Captions no more
Size: (Pack of 1) Style: without Wireless Bass
I have some difficulty hearing and have to keep the captions on while watching movies/TV. My husband bought this thinking it would help me hear...and he was right! It's small but definitely has a big sound...I can easily hear dialog when watching TV...without the captions anymore! Very simple to set up as well. The quality is excellent and it's so affordable! Definitely recommend this sound bar for anyone with hearing issues :) ... show more

  • Roku Streambar SE: Where Crystal Clear Sound Meets Streaming Magic Roku Streambar SE: Where Crystal Clear Sound Meets Streaming Magic
Size: (Pack of 1) Style: without Wireless Bass
Small but Powerful The Roku Streambar SE is a fantastic upgrade for anyone looking to enhance their TV viewing experience. It provides immersive audio that truly brings movies and music to life. The setup is simple, just plug it in and connect to Wi-Fi for quick access to streaming services like Netflix and Hulu. If you don’t already have a Roku account, you’ll be prompted to create one, but after that, the installation process is seamless. I was pleasantly surprised to discover I was watching 1080P video until the Roku setup informed me that I could upgrade to 4K HDR10. And the setup process instructed me on how to make all the settings - which saved time. All in all it took about 5 minutes tops. For optimal performance, ensure you use an ARC (Audio Return Channel) HDMI port; fortunately, my TV had one. Make sure to enable ARC in your TV settings, as it’s often disabled by default—without it, your Streambar won't play sounds from your TV or connected devices. The Roku setup will guide you through this if your TV supports it. Additionally, enabling HDMI-CEC allows you to control power and volume across devices easily. Finally, change your TV's audio output format to PCM-Stereo, since the Streambar doesn’t support Dolby or DTS audio formats. Overall, the Roku Streambar SE combines exceptional sound quality with convenience, making it a valuable addition to your home entertainment setup! To ensure the Roku Streambar SE works effectively with your TV, it needs to have the following three features: ARC (Audio Return Channel) HDMI Port: This allows for seamless audio transmission from your TV to the soundbar. Make sure to enable ARC in your TV settings, as it is often disabled by default. HDMI-CEC (Consumer Electronics Control): This feature allows you to control basic functions, such as power and volume, across different devices with a single remote, improving convenience and usability. PCM-Stereo Audio Output Format: Since the Roku Streambar does not support Dolby or DTS audio formats, your TV's audio output must be set to PCM-Stereo for optimal performance. Hope this helps. ... show more

  • Beware of "One Touch Play" reverting to "Home" every 2 seconds
Size: (Pack of 1) Style: without Wireless Bass
Good product but what a mess. 1) You DO NOT have to use an ARC HDMI input if all you want to do is listen to what you stream over the Roku. ARC is only required when another input on your TV (like a DVD player) needs to play thru the Roku's Speaker. 2) This Roku dropped support for the CAT5 network cable - it only works wirelessly over WiFi. Mine connected to 5Ghz which was nice to see. Terrible cost cutting/quality degeneration. 3) The remote is slick plastic and too thin to hold comfortably. Other Roku units have far better remotes...I couldn't get my 2nd Roku's remote to work on this new unit - so I'm stuck with the terrible plastic junk remote it came with. 4) Upon first use - the advertising tracking is terrible - don't answer any of the questions and just bypass it. Unless they are paying me, they shouldn't have any access to my information. 5) Major flaw when hooking up to a no-Arc HDMI TV port. The HDMI constantly sends a signal back to the Roku and returns the unit back HOME over and over. On the Roku, you must go to Settings - System - Control other devices and disable "One Touch Play" which the Roku came factory enabled. Change setting to "disable" and the Roku works as advertised. 6) 4K output is beautiful. 7) Sound quality. Works better than the TV speakers I encounter in Condos and rentals. Voice is ultra clear - so they specifically amp that up. Music seems to work well down to about 1000Hz and then it basically flounders. They definitely needed a dedicated Bass speaker cone built in like Amazon Echo or Google Players come with. The low Bass sounds are pathetic compared to even the smallest Amazon Echo. 8) I will keep this Roku as it is compact enough to travel with, but I'm not overly impressed with the sound quality. ... show more

  • Dang...what a great smart little soundbar!
Size: (Pack of 1) Style: without Wireless Bass
I wear hearing aids but at night I remove them. I have a Roku TV in the bedroom and have gone through several speakers, soundbars, other ideas to hear the voices unmuffled with no sucess until now...this little soundbar has settings and adjustments to enhance the speach without the background drama music drowning it out. Another feature is that this speaker is smart and has leveling and night settings that reduces the loud comercials, etc. Wonderful!!! Plus, you can easily pair BT earphones too. This thing pairs BT so easy, I was really impressed. I don't think you would regret buying this soundbar and the price is even astounding for the quality. ... show more
