  • Super sound system and reasonable price
I have been wanting a home theater audio system and a multi input home stereo system. Of course at a reasonable price. Background history my wife wanted a karaoke system for her birthday a few years back. I stumbled across Rockville and bought one to save money. It actually was awesome for our needs and an unbelievable low price. We were not disappointed. My son DJ’s on the side so the sound was not to his level but the dual wireless mics, he borrowed those wireless mics for 2 years and then he got some from Rockville. I spent a lot of time looking at legacy name brand home theater and home stereo equipment and off brand name equipment. I was struggling with getting the legacy name brand systems. All the old names from the 80’s and 90’s basically gone or not what I was thinking equipment would be. Long story short, I kept seeing Rockville home theater systems and their options and great prices. I decided to go again with the Rockville brand and hoped to not be disappointed. Our living room has a 12’ vaulted ceiling and 600 sf area. I really thought I might be undersized with the sub woofer bass on this unit. I am 59 years old and maybe not hearing as well as when younger but this system is WOW, no kidding great. I have only had the volume to 70 on TV with sub woofer bass at midpoint, music shakes the furniture with the bass and our cat hides just like when he hears loud thunder. Bluetooth works great to stream music from my tablet or phone. Local FM stations locked in and sound great. It also has the 2 mic ports for karaoke, not tried that yet. So you can switch from 5.1 to 2.1 meaning home theater (rear speakers) or home stereo (no rear speakers mode) with remote, one button. I thought music would sound better in 2.1 and video movies better in 5.1. I prefer always in home theater mode, 5.1. I do adjust the sub woofer lower with a lot of speaking versus music. This one system met both of my needs, home theater and stereo. I am not getting compensated for this review. I just thought so much of this system, I figured this review might help people know you do not have to spend a lot of money to enjoy sound. ... show more

  • great sound quality, great price
I was looking to upgrade my old stereo amp and speakers for my home theater originally, but when I saw that this was a full surround sound system with an 8" subwoofer for about 200 bucks I was interested. I was not disappointed. for the price this was a huge upgrade and the sound quality is impressive. The bass hits pretty good for a single subwoofer, although there is a small frequency range that seems to give it a little trouble. The satellite speakers have pretty decent sound reproduction. Set up is what you would expect for a wired system, running wires all around the room trying to hide them, but I can't stand the audio lag that Bluetooth adds to movies and for gaming so it a reasonable tradeoff for me. The only thing I can't review is the longevity yet,but my old Altec Lansing system lasted 20 years and still works so hopefully this one lasts a decent amount of time. Finally I cant seem to get the 5.1 to work with my tv, the back speakers play but basically just in stereo. I think it might be a limitation of the optical out of my tv or the compatibility since its an older tv. ... show more

  • Just believe me you're getting your money's worth and then some
I must admit it was much better than I thought it would be I have a home theater system in my living room that cost about three times that price and it actually compares to it and it is really loud I have it in my bedroom base is booming 😁

  • This thing is 100% and more worth the price. This thing is 100% and more worth the price.
I started searching for a budget system for about a month before pulling the trigger on this. My wife had me on a pretty strict sub $300 budget and I wanted something that would rock the House (good luck with that I was thinking). I've had the system for about two months now and it continues to impress me with it raw power and great sound!! Seriously, I haven't tried everything in this price range obviously but I can't imagine that there is another system available as good as this one. I was mostly worried that the 8 inch subwoofer was going to be under powered and not produce the bass I was wanting, let's say I'm amazed at what this 8 inch subwoofer can produce. After playing around with it for a while, I've come to the conclusion that the best input is by far ARC for quality and just leaving subwoofer and all speakers set to zero is about as perfect as it gets. I've listen to multiple different types of music with this set up and they all sound really good. I was thinking that the claim of 20 Hz to 20 kHz was likely going to be false but as far as I can tell, it's hitting all of the Rangers quite beautifully. I was really torn between this and a sound bar that offered Atmos, so glad I went with this one🤗 In conclusion, I highly recommend this system. ... show more

This is the second unit that I've received that I've received. These units seem to have an inherited problems! Distortion in the audio channels.

  • Static at high volumes
Cuts out and has static at high volumes. Have to turn bass all the way down to make it function properly.
