  • We love this Ringside for our workout goals
My wife and I got into using a heavy bag about six months prior to Covid, when we were taking Kickboxing training at a local facility. We loved it. During Covid, we decided to get a home set (Everlast stand and heavy bag) so we could keep going while locked down and onward. We loved that set, but found the bag (75 lbs) to be too light for us, and decided to get a heavier for a Christmas gift to ourselves. We went with a 100 lbs, bag. We have used Ringside at the training studio and have their gloves, so we knew the product line, and decided to take a look at a home bag. Originally we were going to go for a longer bag for kicking, but settled on this Ringside 100-pound Powerhide Boxing Punching Heavy Bag to fit our current set up - not ideal for kicking. As renters we can only do so much, so being able to move and adjust, keeping things a bit more mobile, was the key. We bought this Ringside 100-pound Powerhide Boxing Punching Heavy Bag with the intention of being able to use it for boxing now, being able to move it when we move, and that it can work with our Everlast frame. The frame takes up to 100 lbs. So far we are very happy with the Ringside 100-pound Powerhide Boxing Punching Heavy Bag as our choice. I cannot imagine not having another Ringside - we have come to like the product line very much. The materials are excellent and withstand our skills. But they also give us something reliable and long lasting. The stitching for the attaching rings is excellent as well - it should withstand everything we can throw at it. The top ring allows for the bag to turn - which is great and not making out stand need to be readjusted as we sometimes had to do with the Everlast bag that does not have a similar turning mechanism. There is a ring at the bottom as well, so we can anchor it if we decide - to keep it from swaying as much. We are currently choosing not to use that ring. In the end, we are once again truly impressed with and happy to have made the choice of a Ringside. Everything we have experienced to date has been top notch. It’s only been a few weeks, but from previous experience, we believe it’ll last - our future plans include being able to mount to a ceiling, but for now, the stand mount is perfect. It all adds up to giving us what we need to workout. ... show more

  • Works for whole family
I’m 5’9” and my 7 and 10 year old sons all use it just fine to help with our taekwondo training and my 3 year old daughter is starting to use it as well. Takes a beating with lots of kicks and isn’t lumpy or getting any weird spots yet.

  • Decent Bag, poor quality seam, bad packaging.
Bought mine from Amazon directly and that sale location did not come up this search Combat Brands may do better with the packaging issue. Immediately noticed the protruding, sloppy, (one or both sides of the seam protrude) veritcal seam which reminds me of the cheap red Muay Thai Title Bag have at gym which the seam is now failing. Bag made in India which may explain it; probably stuffed here. My home vinyl muay thai bag from a US Eastern Manufacturer has a much higher qualtiy seam which is almost ununoticable. Was considering sending this one back over the seam and contacting that muy thai bag manufacturer and see if they make boxing bags but the packaging looked like it was designed and installed by a first grader plus the bag is generally OK otherwise. Packaging was in pieces when it arrived from UPS with bag exposed in several places. Powerhide is tuff but it can be scratched or torn. Packaging was 2 pieces of light weight cardboard with a maze of tape; no thought in the taping.. The plastic bag on the bag was intact and I did not see any scratches. Overall the chain, swivel, tabs, fill, powerhide material look decent. Could not find any mayor problems. so I gave it 3 stars. I just do not remember the Ringside bags from my other gyms having such a poor quality seam. However, it is home use but if I was using it at a boxing gym, I would have sent this one back. Somewhat disappointed in Ringside and will consider other vendors more favorably. Finally found a review online but the Ringside bag was a 130 lb bag not the 100 lb like mine. Guy unpacked it and said he found sand bags and very smelly shredded cloth material (I remember when TKO had a problem with sticky rags as fillers). I am sure my 100 lb bag has 30 lbs or so of sand bags in it because it is same dimensions as the Ringside 70 lb bag. I was pretty sure before I ordered it that it had sand but still disappointing. It would have to be alot bigger diameter to get a soft filled bag without sand like my Muay Thai bag from the USA vendor (note he may get the bag cover overseas, I just know from reviews he uses just soft fill and no sand). In fact comparing the Ringside 100 lb soft filled bag with my Muay Thai fiber filled bag, both are about the same softness but my muay thai bag is more uniform and it has over 2 years hanging and good use during that time by me. I am 250 lbs. Sand is not a bad thing and to get a heavy 100+ lb bag cheaply, you are going to get sand bags. The high end bags from all 3 major manufacturers probably don't have sand bags but just guessing. Ringside and probably Title (did not see much bad reviews on them either) does a better job than the cheap everlast bags in placing that sand so you should not get the lumps plus the materials are more durable. The heavy stiching on the Ringside instead of the zipper I see on the everlast bags makes it much easier to upack and service the bag if a hard spot or major settling develops. Still like my Ringside bag, but I am a gear junky so sort of like having your favorite gun made in China. Steals some of the joy. Still 3 stars. I am going to see what size of 100 lb boxing bag this USA vendor of my muay thai bag says it would take to keep sand bags out of the bag. Don't know if they make boxing bags because they don't sell them on their website; just curious. I would think they would be more bigger diameter and more expensive than the Ringside 100 lb bag. In summary "soft filled" does not mean no sand bags unless the vendor says "no sand used as fillers" like my Muay Thai vendor. On this ringside bag, it is the IMF liner that a previous reviewer noted. I don't buy everlast much, mostly Title and Ringside mostly thru Amazon (cheaper shipping) but keep watch for sales on their website. Unrelated but of help if you are by yourself and need to change big punching bags. I did make a heavy bag hoist and bag sling today with an old Allen deer hoist (rated 400+ lb capacity) from Walmart, duct tape, paracord and 3 old karate belts that let me change out the 100 lb and 130 lb boxing bags with just me and a ladder. Takes a few minutes but so much easier than trying to hold the bag in place and try to get that s hook in and out of the hanger. Wish I had room for 2 bags but I don't so they share a holder. ... show more

  • Great Value in Heavy Bag
After the better part of 15 years and series of 3 or moves my old bag had seen its better days. The last year had me working out from home exclusively and accelerated its demise. I shopped for a new bag for months before settling on this Ringside Bag. The bag shipped quickly and the carbineer made it easy to connect. This bag is a beast, densely packed , however, with enough give to absorb and distribute the punch without returning the energy . The density is consistent top to bottom, no soft spots. The shell is tough and provides good snap when struck. You will need good gloves and wraps to strike this and it might be a bit dense for beginners. This is a very well made product and a great value. Update I have had this for several months and this bag is aging nicely. Thick as a brick and rock hard but when you strike it gives just enough so that your joints aren’t taking the force retuning to you. No soft spots have developed even at the top of the bag, a few bulges but that’s to be expected. Great value nice bag. 100# is perfect weight for my work outs. Update February 23. Almost two years later and over a thousand rounds and hundred thousand punches this bag is still a gem. The jacket is In dynamite shape now signs of wear. The filling is still dense and hard. The bulges and dents are bit more pronounced but there is still no soft spots. Great value and very well made. I highly recommend it and keep punching. ... show more

  • Hard Spots
Great bag for the price and has held up well with some abuse. But there’s some hard spots that just haven’t been able to beat into submission. Will need to refill the bag
