    • Great bag for MMA - but a couple of things you should know before you buy...

I've used these bags for 2 years at a local dojo, and purchased one for myself when we built our home studio. It's built very well. After seeing them used in an industrial setting for a couple of years, and holding up, I have no concerns about durability. But there are two considerations when buying. First, you will probably want to fill the base with sand, not water. Water simply did not provide enough weight when used with aggressive punching and kicking, as the bag moved around constantly. Filling with sand is a pain and can be messy, but I recommend it. (Get yourself a big wide-mouth funnel, and make sure your sand is dry!) The second issue - and why I docked 1 star in my rating - is that the bag part unscrews itself constantly from the base. I'll just stop and screw it back in, but it is a pain. I read that you can put some rubber between the bad stem and the base, so I'll give that a try. If I can tackle that problem then I'll be a totally happy camper. ... show more

I like this bag. The pro is similar to the XXL standard but nicer padding. Also it doesn't loosen or twist as some complained about the standard XXL. Also it has a bigger base, i think, and you can pour more water in without taking the bag apart. I am happy with the purchase. It does cost considerably more than the standard XXL, so that is a consideration. If you workout everyday, then i would recommend the XXL Pro. ... show more

This was bought as an alternative to a hanging bag. 45 years old, 6’2, 213lbs with Thai boxing experience. Not going into K1 anytime soon but this thing flops around and unscrew with a 40-50% left jab. Every 10 punches I have to stop and tighten it. Was excited to finally get my own kickboxing bag. The only good thing about this product is the padding it is thick and adequate width. I am not an engineer but when I first put it together I knew the locking mechanism was going to be useless. The base has absolutely no weight to it so you’re already fighting against gravity they should’ve designed this with some type of weighted bottom even 25 pounds would’ve made a difference. They’re locking mechanism is archaic and cheap. The bag loosens constantly when you’re using it I have to tighten it approximately every 10 punches or kicks. Incredibly annoying.
