A very nice upgrade from gen 1. I got it via a bundle sale to soften the blow. The gen 1 was eventually dying, I had to almost constantly take it off and clean the insides, which was a pita since you need to turn off the circuit, etc. I stuck with Ring because other free services were unreliable and for security that isn’t an option for me. This one works and installation was ~15 mins or less. I do like that the angle bracket is included now, I used it and can see event more coverage on top of the extra resolution. I’d recommend this if you are in the Ring ecosystem and can justify the monthly spend for the service. It’s been super useful for me and for my peace of mind.

Insurance companies will not give you a discount for a Ring vs. an installed by a professional truly great security company. I had 1at the home I sold. Some punk punched it so hard it split the circular ringer.

The bundle is unnecessary and incorrect. Chime is not compatible with wired doorbell pro. WDP comes with it's own mini chime.

Where is the plug in option? The old version came with wiring to plug in.

Camera is poor quality and the lens will fog and eventually crack from direct sunlight. Expect to have to replace your doorbell every 1.5 years. Customer service is non-existent! Called and emailed. Eventually got an email that promised support to fix the problems. I emailed back about 2 weeks later and got a message stating, “that email address is no longer valid”. I tried to call and got a recording to use on-line help. I finally gave up! The units are WAY overpriced. I’m going with the standard push button doorbell (old mechanical type) and a new camera system by each door. Much cheaper than RING and they work!
