  • I am a Ring fan & this doorbell
Color: Speckled Gray Size: 1 Doorbell Configuration: Doorbell only
Ring has significantly upgraded the optical sensors in the latest generation. This battery doorbell offers crisp 2K HD resolution w/up to 6x zoom. I chose this model for the features, head-to-toe aspect ratios, which are fantastic for monitoring packages left directly on your porch. I also love that there is text of the movement description. Nighttime visibility is also excellent, featuring true-color low-light settings & sharp infrared night vision. I have spot lights on the house at night, they do not interfere w/getting great pictures. This wire-free model boasts Ring's highly efficient Quick release battery pack, super simple to remove, charge & put back together. I am told under normal conditions, you can expect around 120 days of battery life per charge. Although it was delivered only 20% charged & it took about 4 hours to fully charge. When it is time to recharge, a convenient USB-C port is used, not included. Alternatively, if you have existing doorbell wiring, you can hardwire these units for a continuous trickle charge but I chose to cap my old doorbell wires & just use the battery. So far it catches all motion near the front of my house which makes me sleep sound and secure. So far I am pleased with the quality & ease of use and installation. ... show more

  • Excellent Quality and Easy Setup
Color: Speckled Gray Size: 1 Doorbell Configuration: Doorbell only
I purchased the Ring Battery Doorbell (2nd Gen) for my mom, and she absolutely loves it. The picture quality is clear and sharp, making it easy for her to see who’s at the door both during the day and at night. Setup was straightforward, and the app is easy to use. It gives our family extra peace of mind knowing she can see and communicate with visitors from anywhere. Overall, it’s been a great purchase, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable video doorbell. ... show more

  • Pretty satisfied with the purchase
Color: Speckled Gray Size: 1 Doorbell Configuration: Doorbell only
It has a great picture and notification system. Very happy with it. The recordings are clear and sharp. The doorbell feature is nice and I have no problems with connection, as long as my WiFi is working. I was worried about the cost, but I got exactly what I needed at a great cost. One thing I will mention is that you cannot change the battery out. In order to charge it, you have to pull the doorbell off. I did use the no drill mount. There is a solar panel that you can get, but you cannot use the solar panel and the no drill mount at the same time. The battery seems to be lasting a long time. I have it set to record more than recommended, so it says my battery is being drained more quickly, and that may be accurate. It’s dropped 10% (95% to 85%) after two weeks of use. ... show more

  • Crystal Clear Video and a Huge Upgrade
Color: Speckled Gray Size: 1 Doorbell Configuration: Doorbell only
I’ve used Ring products for years, and this newest Battery Doorbell is a noticeable improvement. The 2K video quality is incredibly sharp, making it much easier to identify faces, packages, and vehicles. The enhanced zoom is another feature I didn’t realize I’d appreciate until I started using it. It arrived quickly and was well packaged. Installation was straightforward, and connecting it to the Ring app only took a few minutes. The wide-angle view captures much more of my front porch than my previous doorbell, which means fewer blind spots. Motion detection has been reliable, notifications come through quickly, and the rechargeable battery makes installation simple without having to run wiring. If you’re already in the Ring ecosystem or looking for your first smart doorbell, this is an excellent upgrade. The improved video quality and wider field of view make a noticeable difference in everyday use. ... show more

  • A very good basic doorbell camera
Color: Speckled Gray Size: 1 Doorbell Configuration: Doorbell only
I would give it 5 stars IF Ring offered a legible user's manual and/or offered "how to" videos on its website. I have gotten a better user's manual with an electric toothbrush; the one included in the Ring box tells a user nothing of value and the font is incredibly small. For exz., it says to charge the camera but does not tell you where the charging port is or how to access it. The user is to install the Ring app but it doesn't tell you where to find it, amazingly, not on the Ring website. The AI response I got was totally wrong about where the charging port is located. It is located on the back of the camera under a tiny little piece of removable rubber, no way I would have found it without YouTube. The initial charge took almost 4 hours using high speed 5g WiFi. I miss the section for user reviews in which others could relate problems they encountered and how they fixed them...I HATE the AI generated answers and know many other shoppers do too. Happily there are YouTube videos that save the day. The camera itself is a 5 star, setting it up was relatively easy, but it will be an ongoing series of adjustments until I finally get it configured the way I want it. Mounting it is another story. There are two screw holes but the package only included one screw. There is mention of an alternative mounting using double sided tape but, the camera is quite heavy, much heavier than my Samsung Galaxy phone, and I fear tape would not support it. My door and door frame are metal so the one screw they included won't work anyway. I do not like the fact that to get any real benefit from the camera I will have to buy at least a basic subscription but I knew that before I bought it, I just don't like it. If you are shopping for a doorbell camera, this is a good basic option but take the time to look at other cameras and watch multiple YouTube videos before you take the plunge. UPDATE: I have had the camera for a week and am still trying to figure out how to use it. The camera itself is fine but there are no instructions as to how to actually use it. I have no idea how to save a video should I need to, for exz., I have no idea how to save a video or to export it should I need to. I've searched the Ring website and it is mostly a sales vehicle. Amazon used to have a Q&A feature in which othe users could respond to questions but I can't find one for Ring, the Amazon AI is useless for most things. ... show more

  • Ring door cameras
Color: Speckled Gray Size: 1 Doorbell Configuration: Doorbell only
Work as described. Easy to go back in time and watch when need to. Have rarely been offline. We are pleased with them and they are providing the info that we need. Camera is good for closer up views. Not much detail of what is walking in the street. But can see the color of cars and sometimes the model. The motion detection is not as good as I want. It does not pick up each time a person enters or leaves through the front door. Product value for the price is good. Can hear what people are saying when have speaker on and turned up. ... show more

  • Great video clarity and quality
Color: Speckled Gray Size: 1 Doorbell Configuration: Doorbell only
We had a Gen1 out front and was a super easy install to take over it. But incredible picture difference both in quality as well as much wider vision of our porch, drive and yard — love it!

  • Easy install. Works as advertised. No replaceable battery so make sure you install near power.
Color: Speckled Gray Size: 1 Doorbell Configuration: Doorbell only
This review is for the: "Ring Battery Doorbell (newest model) — Retinal 2K with wide-angle video, up to 6x Enhanced Zoom, Two-Way Talk, and Built-In Battery, Speckled Gray". The doorbell works as advertised. I suggest you use double sided tape to put the doorbell up temporarily before using the screw mount plate. One of those things that, 'you don't know what you don't know.' Original doorbell button is in-set (see photo) and putting the ring there would not allow the cam to view the front porch area. The frame is thin enough that putting the ring on it would have the unit oddly 'too far out' and the unit is just almost too wide to fit on the white door frame. Downloaded the app, and the unit readily logged in to my wifi. Setup was easy enough. But the marketing! Ring really pushes you hard to pay for add-ons. For $100, I think it's overpriced for what it does. We had an Amazon gift cert so it didn't cost us anything. Ring is the heavy hitter in the business, so there's that. I put the unit on the door. It looks fine. But what I realized after is that this unit doesn't have a replaceable battery, and there's no reasonable way to run a charging wire to where it's mounted on the door. And there's not really any other location the unit would work with my door setup. I don't know how far the default view alerts to. I tried to scale the alert area down to include just our front walk. I think it's too sensitive and doesn't 'learn' as well as it's advertised. The unit still alerts on trucks driving along the street. It's supposed to be 'smart' with the ability to learn and not alert on things you choose, a feature you have to pay for after a free period (more marketing). Durability shouldn't be a problem since ours is in a covered location, and the quality of the video is good. Knowing what I know now, I'd have researched for a unit specifically with replaceable batteries. So, this unit works as advertised, but you will have to either place it in a location that you can run a charging wire to it (generally, most doorbell locations would work), or rather than this one, get one specifically with a replaceable battery so you can have a charged battery available. ... show more
