  • Ridgid is a good tool.
The price was good. The unit works like a champ!

  • The saw is great, but beware the warranty
First off, I just want to say that I love the miter saw. It is probably the best I've had, though I've only been working with it for a few days. It is simple to set up. It is simple to use. It was correctly aligned out of the box. The stops are correct and have a solid feel to them. The Rigid Miter saw matched features and comparable prices from several other manufacturers. The deciding factor was the limited lifetime warranty listed in the description. I checked other vendors and, with shipping, Amazon was the best deal. I ordered the saw. Upon receipt, I set it up and tested it with a few small projects, and it absolutely worked great. I tore down the packing material since a return wouldn't be necessary. Then I tried to register it with Rigid. According to Rigid, only one store is their preferred vendor (big box home improvement store) and the warranty is only valid from that reseller. I could have ordered from that store online for the same price as Amazon, but would have had to pay an extra $78 in shipping. I am not happy! ... show more

  • Blade wobble
The saw has a blade wobble that was noticeable when I first brought it home but I thought I could make it work. I sent in everything that I needed to in order to claim the lifetime warranty so I figured I would be okay. After a couple of years it got worse and I tried to get the saw fixed using the warranty. The guy that I talked to on the phone said that even though they've known about the wobble on this saw model, they continue to make this saw and that I would have to send the saw using my own money, to Havasu which is a couple hundred miles away from me. I checked and it was going to be $105 to send the saw there. Then they would look at it and try to determine what the saw needed. If you ask me, that makes the warranty useless. So I decided to count my losses and sell the Saw in a garage sale. The guy who bought it said he was okay with the wobble and that he probably wouldn't use the saw very much anyway. To make a long story short I used the money to get a top of the line sliding saw from Bosch. This thing has made me sour to ridgid tools and their so-called lifetime warranty. No more ridgid for me. ... show more

  • I’m critical of the blade wobble.
While overall I’m happy with and can live with this saw day in and day out on the job job site, I’m not impressed with the blade wobble. More on that later. This saw may be one of the most versatile saws I’ve ever used. It’s auto lock setting for crown, , the shadow, the 70 degre mitre, and the huge cut capacity are all great features. It has all your classic features, and then some, however there the horror story of the blade wobble It’s been an issue for a few years now, and d Ridgid still hasn’t recalled it. It’s a bit sketchy. The guys on the job site call it the death wobble. This problem makes it sketchy to do rip cuts. Because it’s so unstable, it has a tendency to grab rip cuts and send them flying like a bullet. You never know where it’s going to land, not to mention the possibility of it pulling your hand in is there. Also, the saw is huge. The glide is huge and gets is the way. It’s you’re choice, but my suggestion is spend extra money and get the Bosch axial glide. It’s worth the money. It’s not as versatile, but it’s smoothness and compactness make up for the glitches. ... show more

  • Wood working king
This Rigid saw will do the job and compete with Dewalt and Ryobi. I highly recommend it and any of the rigid products (and I am a Dewalt guy)
