  • Great Kayak carrier
Style: Side Loding
The carrier holds the kayaks securely, the straps work great. Over 1,600 miles so far without any issues. Really like how they fold to help getting kayaks on and off the truck. Definitely recommend them.

  • Works perfectly!
Style: Side Loding
No more strapping kayaks to the roof rack bars. These cradles work fantastic easy to install and remove highly suggest if you do not want to damage your kayak.

  • Works good
Style: Side Loding
I like it because it fits in top without scratching the roof. However, I tighten it all thr way and it will still move when I load my kayak down. I believe that has to do with the fact that it doesn't have a rubber surface

  • Pretty good, but not the best kayak carrier
Style: Rear Loading
I usually go for Yakima or Malone racks, but decided to try these for my new kayak, which is a tri-hull and I didn't think the usual ones that I buy would work very well with that. These do a pretty good job, but there are some significant caveats to the design. First of all, you're not going to be able to easily switch kayaks when using these, so if you have more than one kayak I would keep looking. These have to be precisely installed on your crossbars to work properly with each kayak, and you'll have to make significant adjustments if you decide to take a different kayak. Second, the only "locking" mechanism these have on them for security is security hex bit socket. I think every hex bit set that I've recently bought has security bits in them, so basically anyone with a decent tool set is going to be able to steal these. Using a hex bit to install them is also a pain, especially if you don't want to leave them on your vehicle all the time (like me). It would be a better design if they just had tooless twist knobs with some kind of locking security latch. Third, loading a kayak on these isn't terribly difficult, but it's also not very easy. The rear sliding cradles are a very different shape from the front gripping cradles, so your kayak most likely will not just slide easily on the back ones and then sit nicely in the front ones. I'm used to the Malone SeaWing cradles, which are like a one piece V shape and just a lot easier to work with. They do seem rather durable, and I expect they'll last, but if I didn't have a weird tri-hull kayak, I would've probably just done with the Malone SeaWings again and been a lot happier. ... show more

  • Looks Great, Works Fine
Style: Side Loding
In the video, they made loading a kayak from the side look a lot smoother than it actually turned out to be. Sure, it's quick and easy, but it looks rather clumsy while it's all happening. I have a little 9 foot Dagger, and when I load it from the side onto my Mazda 3, I have to make several adjustments and awkwardly push and lift it into the right position because the rubber pads keep snagging on the grooves under my kayak. Still, once the kayak is up and attached, the saddles get the job done. My kayak is held snugly in place and hardly budges. I can confidently go 80+ on the freeway without any rattling or shaking going on up top. The straps included with these saddles work perfectly also. I toss the rubberized buckles over the kayak and onto the other side of my car without making a mark. They tighten easily and stay that way. I originally bought the rear-loading version of these, but I kept scraping my kayak against the shark fin antenna on my car. These worked much better for what I needed them for. Overall, these are great saddles that get the job done. Loading my kayak turned out being nowhere near as clean as they make it seem in the video, but sloppy-as-it-may-be, I can still get my kayak set and ready to go in under 5 minutes. ... show more

  • Perfect Kayak loading system for transporting without assistance
Style: Side Loding
I purchased these to install on my inno square bar roof rack on a Mazda 5. I had originally purchased the Yakima Even Keel saddles and was unhappy with the way they supported the kayak and mounted to the bar. After doing a lot of research, I found these Nautic Series 570 saddles. These are exactly what I was looking for. Pros: - Lightweight and quick to install. You can leave one side of the connecting bolt threaded and then finger thread the second bolt once placed on the cross bar. - Once connected they are secure and the flexible pad forms to the kayak for a secure hold without putting undo stress on the hull. - The pivot feature is innovative and makes the loading and unloading process a breeze. With other products you have to lift you 60+ lbs Kayak up and over the saddle with these you can simply roll the kayak on and off the rack. The whole process is very easy for a single person. - The straps included are of excellent quality and have a rubber molded guard to protect your car from the cam cleat. They are the perfect length so you don't have a lot of excess strap to tie down after the kayak is secure. Cons: - The security method utilizes a keyed allen bolt with a center pin and although it does provide some measure of security, With the design and additional bolt thread visible it would be easy to remove these without the key with a pair of pliers. Hopefully they don't get stolen. ... show more
