This was perfect for our 4 year old on a road trip! Normally we listen to him say “are we there yet” every 20 minutes, instead we got to listen to him laugh and play games most of the way. The battery lasted the entire 8 hour drive, and the gaming quality was fantastic! It took him less than 2 minutes to figure out how to use the system and change games. Needless to say we had a very happy and fully entertained child the whole time.

I have both the R36 and the RG43. The R44 is much better. This thing is pretty cool honestly. The size feels good, especially if you got bigger hands like me. A lot of these little retro handhelds cramp your hands after a while, but this one stays comfortable even after playing for a long time. The screen looks nice, buttons feel good, and it runs games smooth without a bunch of lag. I also like that it has WiFi so you can download more games right on the system instead of messing with a computer all the time. One of the best parts is how easy it is to mess with. The SD card swaps easy, adding games is simple, and it feels pretty open if you like tinkering with stuff. I’m pretty sure you can even put Linux on it if you really want to get into it. The HDMI out is cool too. I haven’t tried it yet, but being able to hook it to a TV is a nice extra. Overall it just feels like a solid handheld for people that like customizing stuff instead of being stuck with whatever comes on it.

I absolutely loved it. It has a huge variety of games you wouldn't believe. The screen is clear and sharp, and the size is perfect for comfortable gameplay.
