This is device is absolutely incredible! Attached is my second scan. You can see it captured the detail of the “leather” right out of the box! The software is awesome too. It allows for accurate and quick merging of scans. the fusion time is the slowest part of the process. This device is pulling around 60 frames per second. This scan only took about 4 minutes and ended up being around 12,000 shots. The included auto turn table syncs up with the software too almost making this a “setup and grab coffee” procedure. The device does connect over WiFi, so keep in mind you’ll lose connection to the internet unless you can connect with cable. In my opinion it’s a great value for the price, but I could be biased as I have used other scanners and could not produce the results this device effortlessly made.

It’s a great scanner, I had originally bought a way cheaper one, without laser tech, that being said, this scanner is definitely wayyy better, super fast and accurate. I have high end pc, which is totally compatible, I was able to get 60fps scanning speed, so amazing. Only and sole reason I won’t give this 5 stars is because it lacks instructions, you need to figure out most of the things and honestly (see the example I uploaded) it gives a pretty decent scan but the last missing details you must edit or made them using a 3rd party software or their expensive software solution, but you need to add the final retouches. As an extra, it does come with a small figurine, no matter how many times I tried, I was not able to achieve even 60% of the quality of the sample file (it comes premade loaded in the software and the figurine is a small face figurine) I would say is user error, nearly guaranteed but for the price point I’d say, this is more a shop/reverse engineering tool rather than a simple laser scanner, it has tech but you need to know how to use it before hand. Other than that, it comes very well packed, has every last bit of cable and accessories you might need, and the WiFi part it’s somehow a convenience but the fact that it needs to be attached to a computer or the computer must be on, somehow defeats the purpose, it’s only wireless to the point that you avoid one cable hanging around, maybe useful for certain use cases, yes, but won’t work on your phone only, you do need a whole computer/laptop around

Update they sent me a replacement cord and everything works as it should. Love the scanner not liking that the wired connection isn’t working out of box customer service is very reactive to messages but it seems like they try to avoid sending replacement even though it’s clear that’s what the issue is once it’s resolved will give a 5 star.

The scanner itself worked great. I'm giving it two stars because they claim it's mac compatible but that's not entirely true. Revo Metro works on the Mac with some crashing after a few minutes of scanning (M5 Pro) but the wireless functionality isn't supported at time of this review. Also, to me, if you advertise it as mac compatible the supporting software should also be mac compatible. Revo Design only works on Windows. I reached out to QuickSurface and they said it should work in Parallels. I also reached out to Revopoint, and to their credit they said Parallels isn't supported. It turns out Revopoint was correct. Revo Design + Quicksurface works on an older Mac (intel chip) but not the M series. I asked if Mac is on the roadmap and they said no. Unfortunately this doesn't work for me. I don't want to purchase a windows machine just for one piece of software. I feel like this should be noted on their page that it partly works with Mac.

Although the hardware seems good, the software is terrible. Fragmented and not working on RTX ADA 2000 graphics cards without rolling back your driver more than 20 releases which then breaks other products I have on the machine. Go to use it on my Mac, uses Rosetta 2 emulation because Revopoint has refused to upgrade their application to run on native apple silicon. If you don't have a consumer RTX graphics card, or are using more industrial equipment, avoid this one. Not happy with this. How can you call it industrial grade but it only runs on consumer graphics cards. What a Joke. App opens to glitched Triangles, oh and the mirror app does not work on Mac either so there's that, no wifi scanning with a second screen on mac.

I assume its better raw functionality-wise than MetroX. Software constantly wants to crash (I am using 64gb of Ram, Nvidia 4080 GPU, and Intel i7 13700K CPU) which should be well withing recommendations. What really mattered to me was the WiFi connectivity but I was disappointed that you can't have ethernet while using this device, meaning I can have no web connectivity while scanning. Great scanner, just wish I could have internet while wireless scanning together.

TL;DR If you're shopping for a 3D scanner for medium or small projects like 3D printing, look no further. The Revopoint MetroY Pro is the best for the price range. It comes with a lot more than the competition too, out of the box. I tried the competition first, and ended up returning it. I am very happy I purchased the MetroY Pro instead! PROS + For the price range, this is absolutely the best I tested. + You also get a turntable that syncs with the scanner software to auto scan small objects, using included tripod. + The software itself is intuitive and not difficult (like the competition's). + Their support is great, the website is professional (not cheap like the competitions). + Syncing with my phone was a snap, and actually works (unlike the competition). + The case is sturdy and not too heavy. + A lot more ways to scan with this than the competition. + Great online 'how to' videos available already. + The handheld wireless unit is better designed than the competition, and much easier to use and get working. + "It just works" out of the box + They calibrate it for you before shipping. No need to manually calibrate, though you can if you want to. + It has rubber bumpers placed in the right place so you can put the camera face down on a table. (competition doesn't do this) CONS - There's no off button, you have to unplug it from the power to turn it off. - Like most laser scanners, black or shiny objects are difficult to scan (buy scanning spray for this) - There is a learning curve, but it's not as bad as the competition. - The calibration routine is a little more difficult and time consuming than other brands, but you'll get through it.
