Upon first installation and inspection, I was fairly confident the rack was not going to support 5 bikes (2 adult, 1 teenage and 2 kids biked). You have to flip flop and stagger the bikes like a puzzle to get them to fit....but the fit. Then, miraculously, they all survived a 3 hour drive to Acadia National Park and back...at 80 miles/hour. I purchased this bike rack to haul my childrens bikes with us on our camping trip. I bought two to accommodate all the families bikes, the structure on one of the bike racks didn't hold up during our trip. The 2" metal tubing that inserted into the reese hitch reciever bent causing the bikes to sag down and almost drug the road. I had 4 bikes on the rack not five . I was so glad to make it back from our family trip. Once i removed the rack I noticed the 2 " tubing had a crack in it where the metal actually bent. All i can say is do your reseach before buying this product there has to be better ones than these. With what i know now i will start shopping for a better product. ... show more

2nd road trip with only 3 older youth(not kid size, but not adult full-sized) bikes, one arm of the rack bent & bikes slid down against each other & caused damage to the bikes.

    • Solid build quality, just not made to fit 5 bikes

The bike cradles are to close together requiring an elaborate Tetris game in order to fit all bikes on the rack. Derailleur and brake cables all required adjustments afterward due to them getting pulled on while getting the bikes to “fit” on the rack. I would recommend placing 3 bikes, not 5.

The media could not be loaded. So far it looks great and easy to assemble! Will try it later on to see how it handles on the road. I place 2 washers to eliminate the wabbling. Will see w all 5 bikes.

Not all my bikes will fit due to the way some of the bars are made on the bikes so I have to put thoes bike in the back of my truck.

Was easy to assemble seemed sturdy but after our second trip one of the support bars was bent down at least 2 inches and the bikes were all dangling would not reccomend.

It took a long time to install in the highlander, it was very tight and difficult to install, but it worked in the end. after a few months and some rain, it got rusted.
