My husband and I have two sleep number beds; one in our master bedroom, and one in our fifth wheel camper. They’re super comfortable, and we love them, but sleep number customer service has left so much to be desired. This is now the second time Silver Fish/REM Air has saved me from extreme aggravation. Last fall, we moved, and during the move, one of the quick connect clips on our air hoses broke, making our mattress useless. I immediately called SN customer service, explained that the only thing broken was the $0.2 piece of grey plastic in the quick connect clip, and asked them to overnight the replacement. They say they can’t just send me the clip, but have to send me the entire hose setup. Ok, fine. First email has it shipping to the wrong address, and that gets fixed. In the meantime, we ordered connectors from Silver Fish, fearing the worst from SN. We get the parts from Silver Fish, two-day Prime, and it works perfectly, and we’re back to sleeping like babies in our bed. A couple weeks later, we get the “replacement” from SN, only to find that they’ve sent us a brand new pump, which in no way addresses our issue. I didn’t even bother calling back after this... we just swapped out the pumps, and returned the “defective” old one that we really had no issue at all with. Now the R5 mattress we have in our camper is losing air in one air chamber only, and I’m able to determine that the air leak is directly from the rubber seal around the hose, so I call SN trying to get the replacement chamber. They’ve given me the run around because I bought their product, which they allow camping world to sell, and they have no record of my purchase. I’ve emailed the receipt from camping world three times, as they requested, but somehow they can’t find it. Needless to say, I’m again frustrated with their terrible customer service, and wound up turning to a Silver Fish for a replacement. This mattress is a touch shorter than the original air chamber for my R5, which I now realize is because SN uses a Cal King chamber in their R5, not a regular king. I honestly think that’s part of the problem since the longer chamber forces the hose connection against the headboard In the camper, and I believe that tight squeeze is what caused the leak in the first place. I put an old towel in the end to fill the mattress cover, and this also protects the connection point in my REM air chamber, so hopefully I won’t run into the same issue. This air chamber doesn’t have the zipper to connect it to the other side, and prevent any separation, but it holds the air, and that’s really what I needed. My bed required a male end on the mattress end of the hose, but I happened to have one laying around from the spare parts we ordered for our home mattress, so we were able to swap that out no trouble. Silver Fish did follow up and offer the part, though, which was really nice. I’m still going to call SN back and hassle them to give me my replacement, but as we are going on a trip and needed the part quickly, this was an excellent alternative. Thanks for the excellent customer service, and quality replacement parts!

The air chamber smells like skunk spray. I needed a new air chamber because the original went flat. From the time I brought the package into the house, I could smell skunk spray. Yuk! Thank God for Fabreze. I guess nobody sells a replacement air chamber for a 2009 Series 9 mattress anymore. Had to cut air tube to remove it from mattress. Also had to buy a air pump that would hook up to new air chamber. After all is said & done, I spent almost $700.00 to inflate my air mattress. Plus I now have a bed that smells like a skunk all the time. I guess it is true when they say "caveat emptor" (Caveat emptor is Latin for "Let the buyer beware"). 2021 Update: Skunk odor gone. About time too! Was ready to scrap all and get another bed. I wish the sellers would say how much weight those mattresses can support? Especially when sitting on an end. Someday maybe I will find out the exact model I have and maybe find the paperwork that came with it to see if they mentioned any weight limits? And the saga continues...... Received e-mail from Tyler, Customer Success Director today asking me to give his company a higher rating. Well, I am trying to be nicer to everyone these days, so I added another star. Now as long as I am here, Tyler, where can I get the side rails that help the mattress keep it's shape. The side I sleep on, I tend to sit on the edge, and the edge is not holding up too well anymore. The weight limit of 400 pounds is great. But those side rails doesn't like my 325 pounds.

I have a select comfort bed in my motorhome, one side had a major leak that couldn’t be repaired easily. I found this air chamber and it was half the price of a used select comfort air chamber, I thought I would give it a try and I’m glad I did. It worked perfectly. I did need the extra coupler the seller offers, but I didn’t know that until I went to install the mattress. It was late at night and I emailed the seller to request the coupler piece, I didn’t expect them to reply until the next day but they responded immediately. They even gave me info so I could go get a coupler locally to save time. I ended up waiting on theirs to come in, it worked perfectly. I just cut off some of the OEM hose and then the new push lock coupler slides into the old hose and connects to the new hose. No leaks at all, and I’m able to sleep on my bed again instead of the couch. Thanks!!!

I replaced one of my 12 year old Select Comfort which had original REM Air Chambers that started to leak very slowly. I bought 2 Sleep Number air chambers that would be the same on both sides, but were nothing like the REM's. air chambers. The SN air chambers had the wife and I rolling to the center of the bed. No wall support. I sold those and bought 1 more REM and replaced the wife's with the REM. There was a Strong Odor from the 'New Unit' that really bothered me. I found out it was the connection hose Stinking from some off-gassing from the hose material. I replaced that and the smell was cut down by 75% but the smell had permeated onto the air chamber and after a week (7 days) has just about disappeared. I sent the hose to Silverfish LLC for evaluation so this could be addressed and corrected. Yes, I would buy another no problem. I know if placed in the sun for 12 hours (full sun 6hrs on each side) will get rid of the odor in quick time. Remember these are exactly like camping air mattresses having vulcanized rubber bonded to cloth and have that smell that will dissipate if left to do so.. Highly Recommended over SN by 150% - Recommended 4 sure...
