This was my first ceiling fan to install and it wasn't difficult at all. When I opened up the box and noticed the blades are plastic, that threw me off a little bit and I thought this was going to be a horrible fan. I was wrong. It's quiet and pushes a tremendous amount of air around and is extremely quiet. I keep it on one or two (out of six) since it does a great job, even with using the shorter of the two downrods it comes with. I'm impressed. Not sure if it's worth the money I spent on it but I don't know that much about fans and this one was the only one I could find that looked really nice in my home office. The light kit it comes with, as others have mentioned, is pretty lowsy. It has three settings as mentioned in the description but none of them are very bright, at least not for me, especially since my old fan had four lights on it. However, I rarely use the light as the large window provides the majority of my luminescence during the day. I have to add, the customer service was pretty good, too. The first fan I received was the wrong color and they shipped out another one immediately and it got here two days later.

I installed the ceiling fan and I will say that I have installed ceiling fans in the past and this was in my opinion the best, well designed fan I have ever installed. The installation was a breeze and the 3 blade design provides excellent cooling.

This really is a nice looking fan and looks better in person than in the pictures. Has a modern/retro looking design. The light is nice and bright and can change from a nice warm tint to a bright white tint. The DC motor this fan is a big improvement over the usual AC motors most fans have as it is much quieter and uses about half the power. On the lowest setting on fans that have AC motors they make a 60Hz humming noise that I find annoying. This fan is absolutely silent on low but still moves a fair amount of air. The install was a little tricky and the only reason I did not give this 5 stars. I have a sloped ceiling and the chrome escutcheon that goes against the ceiling can only accommodate a flat ceiling so I had to build a wedge shaped box to mount the fan to (see my pictures). The only other thing that took me some time to realize is the large remote receiver slides into the mounting bracket. On some of the reviews I read on this people said the remote did not come with a battery and that it took a nonstandard one. The remote that came with mine used standard AAA's and 2 were included. All in all this is a fantastic fan and I'm very happy with it. It is also a great deal.

Pros: Beautiful design, color, look, and remote. Mine came with AAA battery remote. Looks really nice for the price and everyone loves it. Runs silent on slow mode but does make a dud when spinning fast (expected). You must use the remote to control functions, cannot use dimmer switch or a split light/fan switch. Cons: Pretty hard to install if you are not able to take bad instructions as guidance only and can figure things out. I had to remove pieces to install others and none of this was documented. In other words, if IKEA instructions are hard to follow for you do not attempt to do this on your own. There are steps missing in the instructions and you will have extra pieces you won’t need/use based on your installation method. Also, a flush mount install left very little room to squeeze you wires and receiver in. You have to put the receiver above the ball joint as there is no room for it. The light is a glaring white light that is very bright — the white light LED is a little harsh as others said in a bedroom. Also, the blades are made of hollow plastic so be careful handling them. However, with all this said, it was worth it and looks good in my son’s bedroom.

Recently, I encountered an issue with the remote receiver for the fan, specifically because I needed a replacement that supports 240V. Do NOT waste your money. It was a great fan but only lasted 2 yrs. The home app says the fan is offline but everything is working fine as far as internet and bluetooth. Motor is dead. It said when I purchased, that there was a lifetime warranty on the motor... I have tried to get ahold of customer service but there isnt any. When you google Reiga it says to contact through amazon. Well, I did. And Nothing. So now I have to buy another fan but Definitely NOT from this name brand.

There's still a lot I don't know about this fan, but let me tell you what I do know. I have had many fans installed in my lifetime. None have been so plasticky and lightweight as this one. I was very surprised because it is not a cheap priced fan. I think almost every part except the motor and support was made from plastic. Is that good or bad? I don't know right now. Generally, you feel a lot more secure that the product is good quality whenit is solid and is heavy. This does not feel that way at all. It is light weight and most of its components are made of plastic. I hope it last. I will tell you that once it was up and installed, it looks very nice, blows a good amount of air, is quiet, and I hope It will be a great fan. The wiring instructions and how to connect it to the home wires were very weak and need to be improved, but we figure it out by trial and error. , Anyways, maybe plastic is the way to go. It is just a fan and if it is light weight maybe the fan blades can move faster, maybe it has less wear and tear on the motor because it is not moving heavier blades, but my 2 conclusions far is that a lot of the parts are plastic, but it does look nice and work well right out of the box.
