Reliable and great for motorcycles

I've owned this for almost a year now, and it has performed so well I felt compelled to go back and add a review. I have a big detached carport with no power. I have a couple bikes I need to keep topped up over the winter. I initially bought two battery tender solar panel kits which came with battery tender solar chargers. Unfortunately those charge controllers were junk, and I replaced each one twice before I gave up on them. These, however, have been nothing but wonderful. They have a tiny screen that displays error codes, so you can lookup whatever is wrong (if anything is wrong). PLUS, one bike has a high compression 1700cc engine along with a basic (definitely not overpowered) battery. After 6 months on this charge controller from a 35 watt panel, it fired up with zero issues. I would absolutely buy this controller again if I needed to, and I recommend it highly to anyone.

Simple setup, easy to use.

I bought this controller after purchasing a previous solar controller that did not work at all. Simple directions: Connect to your battery first, then your solar panel. The controller lights show the charge level of the battery, and the LCD display show the voltage and amps going into the battery. I use this controller to provide lighting in a shop building that is off grid. I have one 100 watt solar panel, and a deep cycle 12 volt car battery. When I first installed the system, the battery was at 50%. I connected five 60 watt 12volt bulbs on a switch, and I have one 100 watt bulb that stays on 24 hours. When I checked on the system a few days later, everything was functioning properly, and the battery was at 100%. This system has been installed and working properly for about a month now. We worked in the shop all day yesterday, and the battery never came off 100%. For what I'm using it for, it's been a perfect application, and performing exactly as I need it to.

what a great mini MPPT controler

I mostly love this thing. It works, I really am getting 30-40% more charge than my older PWM controller. It faster to find the MPPT than other units I have. Small, fits in line etc. what I don't love is the meter seems to not be super accurate and 100-400mV off. It also seems to stop at the older setting of 14.4V and not 14.6V as newer LiFEPO4 batteries want. I wish there was a way to adjust the settings and I wish the meter had 1 more digit resolution for both charge and voltage but for the $$$ I'm impressed. I love that this just fits small in my go box or inside my 60AH LiFEPo4 box and not external like the previous one I used. I do wish it had anderson power pole and not SAE connectors but that was an easy fix.

Works Great. Use with a Ham Radio with a simple modification

I'm very happy to find such a small and low priced MPPT charge controller. I wanted a small controller to use with my QRP Ham set up and this perfectly fits the bill. The only down side is that this unit is noisy. Easily fixed though. Just take a 240-43 mix toroid and wrap the power cord between the controller and the radio with as many turns as you can get on the toroid and the noise goes away. Now it works perfectly and I have not spent $140.00 on a Genasun controller to get an efficient and quiet, small charge controller. Easy and cheap fix that now does not cause any noise in my transceiver. If you are not using this controller for something like a ham radio. Maybe just to charge something like a battery or cell phone, the noise it generates should not cause you any problems as is. Most all charge controllers generate some noise unless you get one like the Genasun, which is very expensive. Ham operators, try one, you'll really like it.

Works as it should except the display messed up, company had no response

I redid my review to give it a one star. The company does not answer emails about their product. Works as it should except for the display. I'm using it with a 100W Harbor Freight panel and a 40AH LiFePo battery. Should be mounted next to the battery to accurately monitor the battery voltage and provide a low impedance source. Did not add noise the my 7300 radio input. It does do MPPT, verified by testing with a power supply set to constant current. After one day of use the display started to fail, see picture. The left side has digit parts that should not be on. I requested a replacement from Amazon. Sorry to say the second one has the same issue.
