Description

Welcome to Recycling Rules! We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping you start or enhance a recycling program. This recycling bin is a customer favorite and our best-selling bin. It's perfect for collecting recyclables in a kitchen and fits nicely under most sinks, in a utility room, a garage or by a desk. When full its sturdy handle makes it easy to carry to a central recycling dumpster or to take to your recycling center. Many apt. and condo residents find this bin a must. Great for schools, offices, and churches too! Its nontraditional shape helps keep trash out and recycling in. Watch your recycling participation rate soar. An ingenious design allows the handle to fold down and allows multiple bins to stack, one on top of another. Perfect for those environments where recyclables still need to be separated. You can create a "recycling tower" for glass, metal, aluminum, plastic, paper, plastic bags, Styrofoam batteries, etc. Made in North America with a minimum of 35% recycled content. Bin measures 13.5" tall (handle folded down), 10.5" wide and 14.25" deep. Measure carefully! Capacity is 6 gallons (assuming that it could hold water up to the top). Your order will contain two (2) identical recycling bins, shipped nested in one box.

  • Small

Smaller for an expensive price.

  • Blue bins provide chest freezer solution
Size: 3-pack
We have a 7ft chest freezer that we bought around 2001. As a technical person the chest freezer is better in many ways to an upright, except in usability. Finding food and getting it out has always been an issue. We tried some plastic bins but never came up with anything that seemed to work for us. Lately I came across a video showing someone using bins like these and liked that they allowed the person to use most of their space very efficiently. I found them on Amazon and ordered them. After the delivery being delayed a couple of weeks (they made trips to 3 states before getting here), we took everything out of the freezer, put in the bins, and sorted out the frozen food into the bins and the small open space in between the bins. They work great for us. Two bins go on the right, one goes on the left on top of the compressor. The open space between the bins is used for items in larger slim boxes. To find something in the top bins it is very easy. If it's in the bottom bin then it's easy to lift the top right bin and look in the bottom bin. The handles are a must, it just takes one hand to lift a bin. Overall they are great for us and our chest freezer. A little pricey but I could not find any other options that included handles like this except at the Container Store. I would assume they would work OK as recycle bins or whatever you'd use these for. ... show more

  • Check the measurements before you buy
Size: 3-pack
Pay no attention to the gallons measurement. These seem pricey for plastic containers, but they are sturdy yet lightweight with a unique design. Their width is slimmer than recycling containers that I'm accustomed to, and at 1st I was disappointed when I unboxed. When I saw how it works as a set and used it for about a week, I was glad I bought it. I dump the content from 2 bins into a larger container for neighborhood recycling, and I put glass in the 3rd bin for offsite recycling. ... show more

  • Versatile Bins - Not just for recycling - Works great in the freezer!
Size: 3-pack
Yes, 5 stars. These are versatile containers, which can be used for a variety of purposes. I ordered the 3 pack for use in my chest freezer. At the time, there were no other reviewers who had done this, but now I see I am not the only one. Yes, they work great. They are a perfect fit for my 12 cf freezer - I stack two of them on the left, and the other in the middle with hanging baskets above it. I now have very little wasted space, and I can simply lift out the top bin to easily access the one below it. Yes, these bins stack easily by folding down the handle and creating a square footing for the bin on top of it. If not in use, they nest easily by folding the handle back up, and one bin slides right into the other - how they arrive in packaging. The material is pretty much what you would expect of any indoor trash can or recycling container - durable, yet flexible. They seem to hold up nicely in my freezer, maintaining durability and flexibility despite the freezing temperatures. I have at least 30 lbs of venison in one of these, yet I can lift it right out without any trouble or worry that it will break. There does not seem to be many things designed for use in a freezer, and what I have found is either cheaply made or too expensive for what it is. Not these, though. They may be recycling bins, but they work great in the freezer, and at this price (3 pack), each bin was less expensive and greater holding capacity than a Rubbermaid basket designed to sit in my freezer! I am thinking about ordering another 3 pack, so I can use them for recycling :-) ... show more

  • Way smaller than anticipated

These donโ€™t hold much! We were anticipating almost double the size.

  • Good value for the money
Size: 3-pack
I struggled with finding recycling bins to put in my garage. These are much smaller than I would have liked, but they are really sturdy. They stack well and the handles fit well.

  • Suits our needs to a T
Size: 3-pack
We've had these in service not quite a week. We have to pay by the pound to dump our garbage so we are avid recyclers and we formerly baled our recyclables in plastic grocery bags before dropping them in the 64-gallon receptacle in our garage. The bags often leaked and looked trashy in our kitchen. I secretly hoped for a better solution but the system worked well for hubby, whose monthly chore is hauling three of said 64-gallon recycling receptacles to the landfill. Finally, the landfill banned the plastic grocery bags and I had my chance to talk The Dustman into a better collection system. I certainly can't speak for every household, but these little bins have made a big difference for us. We have a set of three and we have to take them out to the bigger receptacles about every 2-3 days, and the handles make that a breeze! I was worried they wouldn't stack securely but they are very stable. I can't believe how perfectly they fit in our kinda small and awkwardly designed old kitchen, too. It's pure chance, but it's as if they were made for the space behind our garbage can between the stove and the door. They are also small enough that when they need a quick rinse out they fit in the utility tub in the laundry room. ... show more

  • Makes recycling easy
Size: 3-pack
I waited to review until I got them (thanks for timely delivery), filled them, and brought them to the recycling center. They stack nicely and if I can't fit the glass jar in the "opening" when stacked, they are light enough to lift. I taped "what's allowed" at our recycling center on the top of each bin so I wouldn't have to keep looking it up. Today I took off the buns for our first recycling trip. They fit in my trunk (2012 Honda accord) with their handles up which made it easy to get them out to dump them. The roll offs were tall, and I'm short, but was able to hold them without letting them go. The paper recycle box has a side opening and this fit nicely in the opening. Someone mentioned to make the recycling box wider to fit papers better, but then it wouldn't fit in the side hole to dump. Maybe make an "XL" version and leave this like it is. It was interesting to actually see which bin filled faster. And how much doesn't go into the trash can now. Job well done, blue stackable bin company! ... show more
