  • Excellent Rabbit House!
Size: 50.0"L x 20.5"W x 38.5"H Style: Rabbit Hutch with Sloped Roof Color: Glazed Pine
Easy to built and this is coming from a non tool type of guy! Just have a screw gun handy and it was done in about 30 min or less. Our rabbits love it and since I had one house already they easily felt comfortable going into the new house and getting comfortable. Safe to keep outside and in Florida weather it seems to hold up nicely. We keep the bunnies outside with access to the yard one at a time each day due to that neither are fixed and we are not at the moment wishing for new family members ! Great house , can’t ask for anything else. Well just one thing, the bottom of the house is opened so most people buy chicken wire but I am using garden rubber stones I got at BJ’s but you can find them anywhere. Three out of six rubber walking stones over lapped the floor and looks nice. It also creates a soft flooring instead of something like wire. I prefer it over chicken wire but that works just as well. The six rubber stones were 20 bucks. Hope this helps! ... show more

  • What I would have liked to know before purchasing
Size: 50.0"L x 20.5"W x 38.5"H Style: Rabbit Hutch with Sloped Roof Color: Glazed Pine
Some issues that I have with this hutch: First, when I went to assemble the hutch, I found that several pilot holes were missing. I didn't think this was a big deal at the time, so I just used my power drill to drill in the screws without pilot holes. The wood began to split (not so much that it was unusable, but it was definitely a concern). I would highly recommend drilling your own pilot holes whenever necessary. Second, the picture and description does not show that on the upper floor, there are two build in troughs. One trough spans the entire width of the hutch for the front half, and the other is in the back of the private area of the hutch. I was planning on placing a litter box that my bun was already used to inside the hutch, but the troughs made that impossible. Also, the picture does not show that over 1/4 of the upper floor space us used as a hole for access to the ramp. This severely limits the amount of space that I was anticipating for my bunny. Third, my bun has a knack for escape, and within 24 hours of living in this hutch has figured out how to undo the bolt on the second story and escape. This is not a big deal if your bun is house trained, but if you have other animals, or wooden furniture, this could be a problem. Last, the wood used to make this hutch is, apparently, very tasty. My bun chews on his walls more than his chew toys. We fixed this problem by zip-tying some wooden dowels to the edges where he chews most. These are cheap and replaceable, so he can chew through as many as he wants! Other than the drawbacks that I've pointed out, this is a great hutch. It is very sturdy, and my bun seems to love it. We are using it for an indoor hutch, so we usually just leave all 3 doors open and let our bunny hop in and out. He didn't like the ramp at first, but he got used to it in no time. We laid down towels in the upper story troughs for him to sleep on, and placed his litter box in the private area for him. Our bun likes to tip over his water bowl (we don't use a bottle), but we found that the back side of the ramp is an excellent place to put it so that he can't tip it. I hope this review is helpful to any prospective buyers. ... show more

  • Great hutch, except for the hinges.
Size: 50.0"L x 20.5"W x 38.5"H Style: Rabbit Hutch with Sloped Roof Color: Glazed Pine
Putting this hutch together was a breeze. I reccomend a strong shoulder rather than a power drill, because the wood is so soft. No problems at all, until I had to put on the hinge for the roof. The bolts are too long and run into the asphalt before they can hold the hinge in. So I just skipped it. Be careful if you're trying to move this because the wooden peg in the back of the ground section may or may not hold the ramp up. The design is great. It is attractive enough for indoor use, as long as you invest in a small rug or kennel tray to place in the ground level. Also, there is a trapdoor held up in the top right over the ramp for if you want your bunny in one level or keep two rabbits apart. This is great for breeders to introduce a couple or wean bunnies from their mother. The sectioned-off top level with the little hideaway is nice for potty-trained bunnies to keep their mess out of view and there is a drawer that comes out of the front half of the top level for easy cleaning. My rabbit, a 3-year old mini rex/netherland dwarf mix, was a little nervous at first going up the ramp. I suggest finding out which level your rabbit is most comfortable on and then putting him or her on the opposite one, to encourage ramp usage. He was also chewing on the inside of the top left door at first, but this can be easily fixed with distracting chew toys and some positive reinforcement. ... show more

  • Great Hutch but, a Few Dust-Ups
Size: 50.0"L x 20.5"W x 38.5"H Style: Rabbit Hutch with Sloped Roof Color: Glazed Pine
I really, really love this hutch. It works for both me and my rabbits. Once you buy it, you know that whoever designed it really had the product's convenience and functionality in mind. It looks good and only took about 20 minutes for me to assemble it. It's EXTREMELY easy. However, there are two small issues I had with this hutch. One, the strong smell of the wood treatment. I left it in the garage for about a week and the wood stunk it up. Even two months later, I can still smell it. Just be sure to air the wood out before you use it, that stuff is toxic! Also, some of the parts were slightly chipped. Nothing to worry about, if you've got some glue. Some of the people here THOUGHT their wood was broken, because two of the pieces LOOK like they're snapped because they are cut at a weird angle. But that's alright. Overall, it's a great hutch. I absolutely love it, and so do Cotton and Clyde! Good luck! ... show more

  • Could be sturdier
Size: 50.0"L x 20.5"W x 38.5"H Style: Rabbit Hutch with Sloped Roof Color: Glazed Pine
Nice design with four access points: door on bottom, two doors on upper portion, and roof which lifts up for easy access to uppoer portion. Previous hutch was one story, so it's nice for my rabbit to be able to move between the upper and bottom stories. Fairly easy to put together. Only complaint is weakness of the wood. Not sure what kind of wood is used here, but it's too soft. Came with a minor split in the wood, though the hutch is still serviceable. After assembling the hutch, I carefully moved it to a different location and the ramp broke off from where it's screwed into the upper level, with the wood splitting. So, nice design, but would be better with a stronger wood. ... show more
