  • Sturdy, well built. Heavy duty roof tarp. Plenty of space.
Color: White Size: 214.5"L x 107.3"W x 78.0"H
This is more sturdier than it looks..it was easy to build. There was plenty of hardware cloth and plenty of chicken wire for the roof..all the parts were well marked. However the ground spikes aren’t as good so I attached hooks on all 4 corners and used carve straps, by doing this i guarantee this will be affected by the harsh winds. I will buy another and link them together to make more space when I more hens..the hardware cloth is heavy duty and nothing can get through. However you will want to buy more 8 inch zip ties..the 8 inch makes things much easier to tie everything down..the tarp is very good quality and covers everything just fine with an 8 inch overlap on the sides. The poles are of good quality. I would have to say this run is very well worth to money. I will also say that if you make some of your own personal upgrades you will have a rock solid run. There’s plenty of room to stand up anywhere inside the run. The bottom supports on each upright poles definitely makes this sturdy..I searched for hours on Amazon and this run was the ONLY run that had double supports on each upright poles..if you want something that will last then this run is what you want. I work in the construction industry so I know what’s good and what’s not..all I can say is this is well worth the money and the time to build the run. I hope this review helps in your decision. Thanks. ... show more

  • Better than expected
Color: White Size: 214.5"L x 107.3"W x 78.0"H
I'm a 67 year old woman who's never built anything bigger than a piece of furniture. It was surprisingly easy to snap together and turned out better than I expected. The only hiccup was that the zip ties continue to fail or loosen. So I bought stainless steel zip ties to reinforce the plastic ties. Problem solved. Overall I am very satisfied and my chicks are happy. ... show more

  • Good value Good value
Color: White Size: 142.4"L x 107.3"W x 78.0"H
Very pleased with the 12x9 metal chicken run. The size is perfect for my small flock. This was definitely a 2 person assembly job that took a little over 5 hours to complete. The zip ties are cheep and some even broke however there were more than enough to use. Overall both chickens and I are happy with the end results. ... show more

The only issue we had was with the door - we worked it out and is pretty sturdy - all parts were there - seems sturdy!

  • Good for price, and relatively easy to assemble even without instructions Good for price, and relatively easy to assemble even without instructions
Color: Metallic Size: 142.4"L x 107.3"W x 78.0"H
I saw the box arrived, and so called up some friends to help us put this thing together in a day. Opened it once everyone was gathered, only to find there were no instructions included! Our manual must have just been forgotten. (I did email the company and after two days, they provided them). But I had everyone here, so we figured we'd give it a shot. Lo and behold, we were able to figure it out and build the coop and the roosting bars without those instructions. I'm sure it certainly took longer without, since it was a giant puzzle, but I have a secure coop run with ten chickens in it right now, so no complaints. Some complaints. But not as many as if it hadn't been buildable either way. I did end up going and buying extra zip ties, metal ones, to reinforce the sides. I ended up using 550~ zip ties. My hands are blistered, but my husky can't break in and there are no gaps. I also bought extra hardware cloth to put under the edges all the way around, so to keep diggers out. Our goal is to build a wooden coop to attach to this and have this be their "patio" run so they have extra space, but during the summer this would work fine to keep them in. One warning, I've been told not to let them roost on this metal perch if the temps start lowering. Because the perches are round, their toes will be exposed to the elements and not tucked up under their feathers for body heat, meaning they can get frostbite.... also, this is metal, which will get REALLY cold! So this is a short-term/summer perch until I can build one with 2x4s. I did zip-tie some branches to it, since they had trouble gripping the metal when they first jumped on top of it. The roughness of bark lets them land, and then they kinda scattered across it to sleep. One bird did prefer the grounded nesting box to sleep in over using this, while she did use the perch in our old prefab coop. I'd guess it is the metal/roundness causing the avoidance. ... show more

  • 50/50
Color: White Size: 214.5"L x 107.3"W x 78.0"H
So i put this thing up yesterday and am alright with it. Not impressed but not unhappy with it. The first thing is there is no back support pole in the middle which makes no sense at all. The hardware cloth does run from the ground to the first edge which eliminates having to measure that. However the chicken wire for the roof does not so you have to make 3 passes for the roof as opposed to just 1 with the sides. I feel the quality of the metal for the frame is good. Welds look good. Hardware cloth and chicken wire quality appears good. I'm 72in on the nose and I can stand up in it and stretch my arms out comfortably. I'm not sure how to feel about the tarp top or the little bungies. Only time and sunlight will tell. The staple anchors and tent stakes are little more than bent stiff wire so to compensate for the wind i know we will have I've driven T post at all the corners and alternated the middle 2. I would say the it could hold 15 chicken's comfy. You'll need predator side wall protection. The hardware cloth is good but only touches the ground. So I'm gonna put gravel a foot out all the way around to keep predators from digging under. The door and the door space are ok. A skilled trapper will utilize those points as trap or choke points to eliminate future predators. The pole snaps seem pretty strong and am happy with the connection. All in all I'm 50/50 on it. Mostly because I think i could've built the thing for half the cost, but, we will see. ... show more

  • Would not recommend
Color: White Size: 287.4"L x 107.3"W x 78.0"H
Spent weeks researching which run to buy. This one had the best reviews, so it’s what we went with. However I am not sure how it received those reviews. We already knew we would need better anchors. And better zip ties. But what we didn’t expect was… Metal frame is not strong. One pole was dented straight out of the box. It still worked, so we put it together anyway. But that alone told us it wasn’t as strong as claimed. The hardware cloth is far from predator proof. We could break it with our fingers if we wanted. We figured we could make it work for a while, until we could build something stronger. So we went ahead and assembled. However the further we got building it, the worse we felt about it. Some of the hardware cloth was already rusted and broken. And the chicken wire for the top had the green coating coming off on us as we assembled. Leaving bare wire exposed to also rust quickly. I checked to see if we could just send it back, but it says it has to be in original condition. We’ve already cut wire to fit, and disposed of the box. So now we are stuck making payments on junk while we go buy better building materials and make our own. ... show more

  • Bought to use as a cat enclosure, great customer service Bought to use as a cat enclosure, great customer service
Color: White Size: 142.4"L x 107.3"W x 78.0"H
I recently adopted a cat that used to be outdoors 24/7 (was either a stray or abandoned). I like to keep my cats indoors for safety reasons, but I didn't want him to miss the outdoors completely. Being much cheaper and larger than prebuilt catios, I decided on this chicken coop. My mother helped me assemble it, and it took a few days to complete (just a few hours each day). It went pretty smoothly (I assemed most of the frame on my own, but the mesh and tarp would be much better with another person). The most time-consuming part of the process was probably cutting the hardware cloth/chicken wire and securing with all the zip ties. The little U-shaped stakes to 'anchor' the enclosure in place don't seem to do much, but I also have pretty soft ground (it seems substantial enough that it wont blow away or anything, but you may want to buy something sturdier). I did initially have an issue where one of the corner base plates was bent just enough that I couldn't insert the connecting rod. I contacted customer support, and Milka promptly replied to my message and had arranged a replacement to be sent out. It arrived within a couple days (turns out the wrong part was sent lol, but I contacted Milka again and they immediately sent the correct part). If you measure the hardware cloth carefully, you can actually use it for every part of the coop except the roof area under the tarp. It's a bit better quality than the chicken wire, so that's what we did. Overall, despite a bit of a delay with the dented part and the stakes not doing much to anchor the coop, I'm very happy with this purchase so far. I admittedly don't have much to compare it to, but my mother has chickens of her own and said that she thought this was a pretty decent coop for the price. Plus customer service is very responsive (thank you, Milka!). I'm happy to be able to give my cat a safe area to enjoy the outdoors on nice days. (I will update this review if something happens in the future). ... show more
