This is a large metal ladder. Assembly was easy. The metal might be an issue for some people, depending on where you live. Metal is durable, easy to clean, and easier to keep clean. Metals have high thermal conductivity. Placed in a cold environment, metals can get very cold, and placed in a warm environment, metals can retain heat making them hot to the touch. It’s not a downside, but some people may judge the use of metal for a chicken coop ladder as a negative; it’s not. It’s important to know what materials to use for your environment. We get cold winters and hot summers. We installed this in the winter and the heat conductivity wasn’t a problem. The chickens were less likely to roost on the ladder when it got too cold. Even slightly warmer days, they roosted. So, I think the ladder is safe for roosting in cold weather. On colder days, they preferred the heat lamp anyways. This ladder is large enough to fit many birds. It has a swinging perch, which most of the chickens were weary of at first. All it took was one brave bird to be the first, and the rest followed her example, eventually. It’s a durable ladder that seems like it will last a long time. It’s a great addition to the coop, and a good value. In our case, it was chicken approved.

I recently added this chicken roosting ladder with the accessory swing bar to my large walk-in chicken coop, and it has been a great upgrade. The metal design feels strong and sturdy, so I don’t worry about it holding my bigger chickens. My flock quickly started using the ladder to climb and perch, and they seem to enjoy the extra space to roost and play. The swing bar is a fun bonus but my chickens have absolutely no interest in it. However, I appreciated how easy it was to put the set together, with simple instructions and all the parts included. It fits well inside the coop and adds more enrichment without taking up too much room. This perch and ladder set is a solid, well-made addition that helps keep my chickens happy .

This roosting perch has been exactly as described and has done its job in my chicken coop. My chickens seem to really enjoy this perch and my whole flock uses it. This perch is really easy to assemble out of the box and it fit perfectly in my coop. The dimensions for this product were spot on. So far I’ve been using this roosting perch since December and it’s held up really well proving to be really durable. I love how easy it has been to clean this perch compared to others I’ve had in the past. Getting grime off the metal has been easier than trying to get grime off wooden ones I’ve used before. I’d say this product is very stable and durable. My biggest chickens haven’t had an issue using the perch, so stability wise it definitely exceeded my expectations. Good perch option if you’re in the market for one. I’ve been very pleased with this purchase so far. Update: I’ve moved this roosting perch over to a temporary pen for some new guineas I got and it’s worked just as good in the temporary pen as it did in the chicken coop! Very versatile and a great product!

The idea behind this chicken roosting perch is good, and the size works well for a larger walk-in coop. Assembly was straightforward, and it’s easy enough to clean, which I appreciate. It also looks sturdy at first glance. That said, there are some drawbacks that keep this from being a higher-rated product. The swing portion is held up by very weak-quality twine, which doesn’t feel durable or safe long term. I have concerns about how well it will hold up with regular use or heavier birds. Another major issue is that the crossbars are metal. In colder winter weather, the metal can get dangerously cold, which isn’t ideal for chickens’ feet. On top of that, the metal bars are hard on their talons compared to wood, making it less comfortable for roosting. Overall, it’s usable and has potential, but the material choices—especially the twine and metal crossbars—make it less chicken-friendly than it should be. With a few improvements, this could be a much better product.

This is such a cool chicken breast they love this! This is so easy to put up. You can put it inside the chicken coop outside. The chicken coop rested on a fence or a similar area. It has a nice perch on top, a hanging one, and a ladder portion, so they’ve got plenty of places to roost, and they just love it. They will not stay off of this. It seems like it should hold up really well. We get lots of weather in the area that I am at from cold to warm this feels like it can withstand the elements. It is well designed easy to put up in sturdy. I recommend this if you have a chicken Coop or chickens. Or other birds like that they are going to enjoy something like this. They’re gonna love it!

I got this to put against our chicken coop. This roosting perch is made from sturdy metal. There are three steps on the perch. On the back, there's a swinging perch that hangs by some string. The entire thing is simple to put together. Over time, I'm not sure how well the string will hold up to the elements. I may trade it for some tiny metal chain to make it a little more weather resilient. Overall, this is a good value for the money.
