Just received it but like it so far. I think assembly usually is a two person job but I learned from someone how to do it without help. The problem is that it's hard to screw pieces together and deal with the weight. So I say down on a comfortable chair and hold the heavier part in my lap. This was ideal until I got yo the last attachment where both pieces were heavy.m, the base and the rest. I turned and turned and the pieces weren't screwed together enough but I knew by feeling where the pieces were joined that I was nearly there. I put the base on the floor while still sitting down, then put my feet (no shoes) on the base and turned with both hands. No wobble at all. There are two things I wish were different. One is that the ancient lamp this is replacing had three glass globes. This meant all the bulbs' light was usable, not just the light coming out of the three openings. The other thing is the foot pedal on off switch. I can't place my lamp where I can use it, so I hope I can turn all three off the bulbs at once. That may get inconvenient and I may have to do something else. HOWEVER. getting the pieces out of the box was just horrible. The pieces were so tightly wedged in the Styrofoam !!! that I ended up pulling it apart, making a big mess. It might not have been so bad in more humid weather but dry air make the little Styrofoam bits cling to my clothes. So choose the place to unbox carefully. ... show more

I love the look of this. Brightness is great-can see in the bedroom again. 1 bulb didn’t work-but thank god it was the bulb and not an electric issue-just used a bulb I had….the tricky part was getting the cord through the pole especially because it’s very heavy. It sort of leans a bit-doesn’t stand straight up - if someone was with me-might have been able to do it. Hope this helps someone! ... show more

Despite being packaged like a medical ration kit for WWIII, the lamp had minor cosmetic damage along the shaft and shells of the bulbs (see pics). This didn’t bother me much as it’s a grow lamp for my fiddle leaf fig, but it might bother you if you have high-end design needs. I was impressed its dimensions were true to size and fit large GE grow light bulbs. The bulbs do not sit perfectly centered (see pic), so again, I personally did not care. The foot switch works well as do the individual ones for each light. I gently adjusted each one to the best angle, but I could see how the joint could wear out if messed with too much. (Doesn’t feel the sturdiest.) I would be somewhat disappointed if I had paid ~$80 full price. I felt it was worth its value at $60 on Prime Day. ... show more
