Description

1. How Pymeter control temperature?Temperature controller is actual Heating/Cooling controller, thus MUST SET ON-Temp to turn ON Heating/Cooling, and MUST SET OFF-Temp to turn OFF Heating/Cooling.Heating starts at LOW Temp [ON-Temp(1oN, 2oN)], stops at HIGH Temp [OFF-Temp(1oF, 2oF)], thus for heating MUST SET 1oN(2oN) LESS than 1oF(2oF);In heating mode, 1oN(2oN) is the minimum temp you allow, 1oF(2oF) is the maximum temp you allow.Cooling starts at HIGH Temp [ON-Temp(1oN, 2oN)], stops at LOW Temp [OFF-Temp(1oF, 2oF)], thus for cooling MUST SET 1oN(2oN) GREATER than 1oF(2oF).In cooling mode, 1oN(2oN) is the maximum temp you allow, 1oF(2oF) is the minimum temp you allow.2. Reading temp is inaccurate?Every Pymeter controller is calibrated before come out of factory, it is reading temp accurately! Please don't compare it to common inaccurate thermostat、thermometer or temp gun. If you doubt Pymeter controller accuracy, please calibrate with ice-water mixture (it is 32F when ice is melting), and you will see which device is accurate then.3. Beeper keeps sounding?Probably it is the Alarm settings ( AL、AH、d7 ) you set are NOT the right temperature you want. AL is low temperature alarm(it sounds when current temp is AL or Lower), AH is high temperature alarm(it sounds when current temp is AH or Higher), d7 is difference alarm(it sounds when the temp deviation between sensor 1 and sensor 2 is over d7). If you don't need alarm function, please don't change the values of AL、AH、d7, the default values usually won't trigger alarm. You can factory reset by switching temp unit from F to C in setting. Please download User Manual PDF in Product information.

  • Best Customer Service and product Warrantee
Model: 16A 1920W
This is the best company to deal with. My unit failed after almost a year which it worked fine. I text the company and got an instant response. They said it is warrantied for life and they will ship out the next day. This is unheard of in this day and age. I HIGHLY recommend this product and the company that stands behind their word and warrantee. I would never hesitate to buy anything from this company ... show more

  • I love it
Model: 10A 1200W
I use it to control the warm and cool sides of my Peter's banded skink enclosure and it does amazing there's even an alarm on it if anything gets too hot or too cold and only one I've used that doesn't kill my ceramic heat emitter

  • It has many uses - does what i need.
Model: 10A 1200W
I found the instructions and display a little confusing, but this isn't an on-off light switch, so that is to be expected. We have a very large air compressor with an external oil cooler that tends to overheat. I purchased this to help drop the oil temperature. the compressor has a belt-driven fan that sucks air through the oil cooler, but the fan is un-shrouded, so it doesn't really pull air though. I mounted a wall exhaust fan directly to the cooler and wired it up to the pyrometer. The fan came with such a device, but it did not have the external probes that this one had, so it would only turn on or off based on room temperature which was not helpful. With this device, i was able to strap one of the probes to the oil line to get direct feedback from the compressor temp. It is accurate. Since I am only running one outlet, the second probe on the unit tells me what the room temperature is, which i find handy. No matter the application, you get two separate probe readings and displays. You could have one inside a reptile cage and one outside to see the difference. I also like how this one does not come with "heat" and "cool" outlets or labels, simply 1 and 2. Either of which could be programmed to work in cool mode or heat mode. The only difference between heat and cool is that in cool it comes when the probe rises to a set temperature and off when it falls below. The heat mode works in the opposite fashion, turning on when it falls below a set temperature and off when it rises above. You set the range between the two. Even though older home thermostats get set to a single temperature setting (they usually have a one degree range built-in. It should obvious that the two temperatures cannot be the same when setting this program. That would be like setting an alarm to sound at a certain time and have it turn off at the exact same time. I found the programming display a tiny bit confusing as there is a capital o for ON next to the number of the outlet being controlled and programmed. When you get to that point of the program it makes the number one look like a 10 or a 20 (1On and 2On / 1Off or 20Off instead of 1 On or 2 On. Very happy with the device's features quality and versatility. ... show more

  • Not intuitive but It works, here is how
Model: 10A 1200W
I always read the instructions and I consider myself good at figuring out how things work. Despite that, I set this up wrong in the beginning. Even when I knew it wasn't working right, I couldn't figure out why. I actually thought it was either defective or that it just didn't do what I wanted. I couldn't figure out how to contact the seller without resorting to "questions" but I didn't really know what/how to ask. I tried to contact the seller and after a few minutes of back and forth with an Amazon chat bot, I realized i was getting no where and ordered a replacement to test my theory of it being defective. It arrived working exactly the way the other one had so I spent some time alone with the Pymeter and 2 cups of water (1 hot and 1 cold). It took around 15 minutes to get a good feel for it. Intuitively, I expected the on / off settings of each socket control a window of time when the socket is switched on. This is NOT how it works. The actual way it works is more clever and allows more control than a basic home thermostat where you just set a single desired temperature. For controlling a heater: The socket will remain powered on until temperature in the OFF setting is attained at which point it will remain off (presumably cooling down) until the temperature in the ON setting is hit. You'll want the ON temp to be lower than the OFF temp. For controlling a cooler / fan: The socket will remain powered off until the ON temperature is reached at which point it will power on. It will stay on (hopefully cooling down) until the OFF temperature is reached. You'll want the ON temp to be greater than the OFF temp. In retrospect, it makes sense they called the settings on/off instead of hi/lo I'm using this in a betta tank. I bought this model because we don't have AC in our home. It can get too hot during the day and then it cools down too low at night. Here are the actual numbers I'm using: I have a heater hooked up to socket 1 and a fan hooked up to socket 2. The ideal betta temperature is 79°F, so I've set: Heater ON @ 78°F, OFF @ 80°F Fan ON @ 81°F, OFF@79°F With these settings, on a hot day, the fan should switch off (at 79°) before the heater is triggered to come back on at 78°. This will prevent the heating / cooling from fighting eachother. On a cold day, the heater will shut off at 80° so I never expect it to trigger the fan. Other notes around usability and the product in general: Pluses: *) The alarm feature is nifty. I set the alarm to reasonable values and this alerted me to the fact that it wasn't working as I expected. Unfortunately, this happened in the dead of night. My wife asked if she should start expecting this as a common occurrence 🤦. The alarm makes the same beeping noise, it makes when you change the settings. *) The packaging is compact / effective / recyclable *) Its neat that there is a temperature differential alarm. They mention that if a sensor goes bad you can use this to figure it out before it causes damage some other way. In practice, I wonder if this will actually happen. Mehs: *) The unit / cables are all white which is pretty conspicuous inside my fish tank which has a black background (see photo). I wish it was all black or at least to have the option to swap with black cables. I will eventually try to do a better job hiding the cables in the tank. *) The cables are quite thick. I don't understand why they need to be that thick, unless maybe insulating them from extreme temperatures? Anyways, it makes them more annoying to place in the tank. *) as other reviewers have mentioned the interface switches pretty quickly so you need to get used to it before you can really feel comfortable make changes. *) the calibration of the sensors was off by a few degrees when they arrived. It's neat that you can calibrate them but it was also somewhat annoying. I think the best thing to do here, is put them in alongside another thermometer you trust and then tweak the offsets until they match. ... show more
