  • Good IR cam for the money
Works as advertised. Easy to use. Considering the resolution of the sensor the picture is quite good. Seems well built and battery life is quite good. No option for expanding storage

  • GREAT METER for the PRICE
For the money this is a really nice meter. Battery life holds up well. I did not know what to expect with so many meters out there it is hard to know what to buy and if you need an expensive one or will this do the job. Out of the box I powered it up and went straight to my kitchen where I actually discovered a GFI outlet that was overheating and burning up because of a toaster oven I had plugged into it. The screen visibility is easy to read and see (sure more expensive units have better screens - wow). Great value for the money and had all the functions I was looking for under $200. It told me how hot the cord and the outlet were, seemed pretty accurate to me especially when I went to unplug the toaster oven cord and felt how hot it was. ... show more

  • A Capable Thermal Camera at a Good Value, But Not Without Limitations
I picked up the HF96V thermal camera to help me pinpoint temperature anomalies around my home and other projects, and for its price point, it offers quite a bit of utility. It does a solid job of visualizing hot and cold spots across broader areas like walls or windows, which is mainly what I needed for general use. For the quality and features it offers at this price, it feels like a good value compared to some much more expensive units out there. However, it's not without its quirks. The image refresh rate is fairly slow, which can make panning feel a bit choppy, and I've noticed it takes a couple of seconds every so often to "calibrate" the image when I'm moving it around, which can interrupt the flow of a scan. Additionally, the resolution is quite low, and I've found it struggles to clearly identify very small hotspots, especially when trying to troubleshoot electronics or other intricate components where precision is key. It's a capable tool for general purposes, but those needing high-resolution detail for small targets might want to consider other models. ... show more

  • Seems great only had it 10 days! Works great!
Awesome for this price. Received it in mint condition brand new! Bought this for leak detection and inspecting my house. Right out the box it was fully charged! 5 days later, still is. I turned it on I found a really hot heat detection in my ceiling of my 4 year old house. Yup! It is a buried air supply. Every home owner should have this thing! Helped me with a leak in the ceiling also. Found the source. So it paid for itself already! Get yours now! ... show more

  • Always wanted a Thermal Camera, just needed an automotive parasitic draw to buy and try ...
Incredible tool ... Has a Thermal Lense and an Optical Lense. One of the modes called Fusion - merges the 2 images that makes it so simple to locate/focus on the precise point of Heat. I Practiced inside my home for a few hours as I learned the features of this Thermal Camera ... I purchased this tool for automotive purposes. A dead battery resulted in an unmanageable # of error codes and check engine light. A recharged battery ended up dead again over night. A brand new battery also ended up dead over night. Clearly a parasitic draw cropped up out of nowhere. After watching a few YouTube videos, I set up an inline multi-meter to monitor the current flow. I expected to see an interior fuse box circuit 'light' up on the Thermal image with current flowing thru. Unfortunately, the interior fuse box was 'cold' - nothing glowed??? I moved to the engine compartment and quickly found an engine bay fuse box with a relay and a bunch of wires ALL lit up RED. Without knowing anything about parasitic draws, I clearly stumbled onto a source of current-flow activity. I put my hand inside the box and 'moved' wires around in the box (so I could see better), and suddenly heard a 'click' and the current flow thru the multi-meter reduced by a factor of 10x(?). At this point I was very confused - but pleased. I wondered if something was hung-up from the original battery draining 9 days earlier(?) I decided to reconnect the negative cable back to the new battery, and then let the car sit overnight. The following morning, battery still charged at 12.3v!!! 1st time in 10 days, this vehicle's battery stayed charged overnight. Car starts right up and after a few drive cycles the Check Engine Light turned off by itself. It's been 72 hours since using the Thermal camera and the car battery has remained charged over-night(s). This tool allowed me to 'see' a problem area - car was suppose to be in sleep mode, but something was still active ... and while I don't exactly know what happen, knowing where to tell the Dealership Service advisor where to look could prove useful. (But I have no intention right now of paying $$$$ for a Diagnostic fee). ... show more

  • Very well designed and high quality thermal camera
Well made, well delivered camera. Oddly similar to the flir my friend has. Like, identical. Performs above expectations, im very impressed with this. I was going to get a usb plugin type for my phone, saw this and went for it. Well executed product, no complaints from me. Easy to use, and the lazer pointer makes it super easy to pinpoint issues. Specifically water lines in a concrete floor, so we can avoid issues when drilling anchors. ... show more

  • Handy for home owners
Super handy for tracing down leaks in attic HVAC and home doors. It will pay for itself from these air leak fixes it outlined.

  • Inexpensive, nice resolution.
Impressive thermal imaging unit for the price. Being a firefighter, I've been looking at TICs as something to have in fires to help orient myself and look for hotspots. I tested this unit during live fire evolutions and was impressed at how well I could see, especially in dark and smoky environments. It held up in the room where the fire was burning, too. Not sure on how long it can withstand the heat as I was only in the room for a few minutes before it was put out. The unit takes a second when its calibrating the screen, much like the FLIR K2 units. Another issue is with the lens, if theres a water spot on the lens, it would be hard to wipe off with fire gloves as its too small and recessed to get to it. Otherwise, its a great cheap unit that firefighters can buy to help them keep oriented while in a fire. ... show more
