    • Perfect for a multi-speaker setup in my back yard!
I have been looking to replace a malfunctioning Pioneer receiver that I have setup in my back yard with 2 separate speaker pairs. I am a big Amazon Music user, and had an Echo Dot providing the input to the Pioneer receiver, then out to the speakers. When that unit started acting up, I began looking for a new option that would provide more flexibility, and this is perfect for what I needed. As part of this audio upgrade, I am adding an additional pair of speakers at the far corner of the yard by the pool and an outdoor subwoofer. This Pyle receiver can handle 4 speaker pairs and has an output for a subwoofer as well, so this unit provides a lot of capability - not to mention the amount of different inputs you can run to it. I really like that it has a physically latching ON/OFF push button, as it allows me to leave the push button ON and use a smart outlet to control turning it on and off. I have the same Echo Dot plugged into the rear Aux Input and can use it or any other Alexa enabled device to turn it on and stream music. The volume for each speaker pair/channel can be independently controlled from the unit, but once I had everything balanced I just use the Echo to control the overall volume, pause/resume/skip songs, and even participate in multi-room music with my other Echo devices throughout my house. (I set up a speaker group called "House Party" that includes this backyard setup, my Polk Command Bar soundbar in my den, and a stereo pair of Echo speakers combined with an Echo Sub in the kitchen to provide an excellent sounding audio setup when entertaining. While I will probably never use the karaoke feature, having the option to plug in a microphone is great. We host the occasional party at our house for our church's middle and high school students, so having the microphone is nice for the DJ to make announcements, run games, or whatever else is needed. The other input options are convenient, and being able to switch to Bluetooth and run things directly from a phone is nice. I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a multi-channel speaker setup without breaking the bank. There are better sounding systems out there, but at a greater cost. I’m very happy with this purchase! I spent many hours searching various amplifiers in search of one that can accept various inputs. This is for our back yard sound system, so I wanted something with more than two speaker outputs. This one can run 8 speakers, and each of the 4 pairs has its own volume control, as well as a master volume control. This is nice because you can adjust speaker output higher or lower in certain zones just like in a vehicle, which lets you set just the right volume for wherever a particular set of speakers might be placed. All functions work great, and case construction is all metal of nice quality. I’m using this unit with several pairs of Pyle PLMR24 speakers, and am very impressed with sound quality!     • Good value stereo with 4 zones (8 speakers) and lots of audio input options
Solid product thus far and good value for the money. Not many stereo receivers in this price range have the capability to connect to 4 zone groups (8 total speakers) which was the main feature that I needed. Setup and installation were straightforward. Make sure to use 4 - 8 Ohm impedance (resistance) speakers or wire multiple speakers so that each zone circuit has a total impedance within that range. The maximum total stereo power is 500W which is plenty for my 8 indoor/outdoor speakers, but you should check your speaker ratings to ensure impedance and power are appropriate. The speakers I have are rated to 100W (max), but I planned regular listening at 1/2 max power, so 50W per speaker. Eight speakers are a total of 400W, giving me an extra 100W (20%) of headroom to ensure the amplifier does not overheat and allows me to crank up the volume in certain zones when needed. A lot of audio input options as per the description work as expected. Areas for improvement (downsides) are there is no Airplay or Wi-Fi enabled option or upgrade for this product. I would pay more for a Wi-Fi upgrade feature as Bluetooth connection degrades sound quality over distance and rooms (30+ feet). Also, the master volume knob is labeled "Music" and it is not clear that it is a master. I would suggest relabeling that knob and increasing its size to make it more obvious. ... show more

Surprisedly pleased! Purchased to provide bluetooth link to covered patio speakers and this amp pushed enough power for good volume and provided great sound quality. Dials for treble and bass help considerably to adjust to your taste. Had tried small wall outlet amp by different brand and this seriously outperformed that. You have to use the remote to select bluetooth after mode dial is set to BT/FM/USB/SD. ... show more

    • PYLE is Garbage
I ended up ordering this thing 6/25/21, because the previous PYLE receiver, which I bought in April, has already crapped out on me. I can't return it, because "muh return policy". And, I don't believe I should have to pay for shipping, only to have to wait for a couple of months for a possibly still junk receiver to stop working again. Or...be told that I can't return it since I no longer have the original packaging. Yeah, because everybody just holds on to packaging for the life of their products. Anyway, I got it today, 6/27/21, unboxed it, plugged up the speaker wires, plugged it in, took the plastic battery block from the remote and turned it on. Fumbled with the AUX1/AUX2/FM-BT-USB-SD knob for about ten minutes, only to discover that the USB function didn't function. On top of that, when going through the MODE button, either manually or via the remote, AUX would stay on for about 10 seconds before turning to BLUE...only for BLUE to flash a couple of times and then leave me with a blank screen. It's like it powers itself down. This is the second and final PYLE product this American is ever going to buy. I'll turn to some ridiculous, off the wall brand before I look at another PYLE component. I can't go through this anymore. Oh, yeah! Since when is it acceptable for two different models of receivers to have the exact same remote? When I say exact, I, of course, mean I was able to use the other garbage receiver's remote (Model PTA44BT) to operate this receiver (MODEL PTA42BT). Is that even a thing? I thought there would have been some sort of FCC controls to prevent this. ... show more

Got this to replace a dinosaur older receiver. The compact size & portability being a huge selling point. Never had any dealings w/ Pyle b4 but I was told they make good products. So for the price its really the only way to go for functionality & integration. I have plugged a laptop & My RodecasterPRO & use it as a Marshall amp indirect monitor & it holds up great! had some probs w/ the 1st unit they sent out but as soon as I reported it Pyle had another one in the mail b4 I could get the other one returned & its just a great purchase, Its very easy to setup & connect to various outputs. The cons are really few but kinda big. First, the remote is useless for most everything but unfortunately necessary if u use the radio function as the unit has poorly thought out tuner controls. Not even a universal will really work w/ as it doesnt have a motorized volume. And if your using an aux device of any kind, forget the unit remote for anything including volume. There's also no independent subwoofer level control which is mildly irritating. Oh, and the last thing is there were no instructions of any kind included so if your not familiar w/ the basic controls this unit has then you better get on YT cuz Pyle assumes. These things for Me personally were biggies & had I known I mightve purchased a diff unit tht had those qualities but Im not disappointed either. Its a sturdy lil thing & puts out some serious volumes w/ individual output volume controls, bluetooth functionality & the voice-over function (requiring a microphone they included as part of the buy but as of yet not received & I dnt think its normally included. thank god 4 promos!). Would I recommend this? Absolutely. The cons I mentioned were big for Me but maybe not 4 you & if thats the case then definately grab one of these & get to krankin' it up! *****************UPDATED REVIEW*********************** The item in question gave out after a both a month & a half & was returned for an exchange of a working unit of diff brand. I have purchased other Pyle audio products and they've always been high quality and impressive. This amp receiver is also impressive. I had some old high end speakers that I was thinking about selling / donating, but decided to get a receiver that can support Bluetooth that can drive the speakers. The audio quality is great and the signal strength on Bluetooth is good and I can stream from my iPhone from at least 100 feet away indoors. The biggest disappointment is that the audio is mono, not stereo. ... show more

This is a great little product. I wanted something to hook up my CD player, and Turntable to the speakers in my ceiling. The only thing that got us stuck for a day was the on/off switch on the back instead of the front. (Doh). I recommen it.
