Description

The Primula Stainless Steel Stovetop Coffee Percolator brews up to 8 cups of rich, smooth coffee from the convenience of your home. Crafted from premium stainless steel for long-lasting performance and durability. It features a removable filter basket that eliminates the need for messy disposable filters. The heat-resistant handle and non-drip spout make for safe and mess-free pouring. The coffee pot and filter are dishwasher safe for easy cleanup; we recommend hand washing the lid. Lastly, the percolator works on electric, ceramic and gas stovetops including propane, making it the perfect camping coffee pot. To use, simply fill with water to the fill line marked 8-cups, add coffee grounds to the removable filter basket, and secure the basket in the coffee pot. Place the coffee maker on the stovetop and turn the heat to medium-low. Make sure to position the handle away from the heat source. Once the water starts to boil, the coffee will begin to percolate. Monitor the brew strength by watching the coffee percolate in the clear glass knob on top of the lid. Once the coffee has reached your desired strength, remove from heat and enjoy. I have had my coffee pot for at least a week. I use it sometimes twice a day. Comparing to the reviews and photos of other people's reviews I am not sure that I have the same Pot they received. What i got is a very good quality. I have not had any staining. I do hand wash and dry after every use. I do use a paper filter to keep the grounds out. As I had bad experience with grounds seeping through using other pots. It is not the fault of any retro style pot to have grounds go through the holes. I firmly believe that coffee is ground so finely for the modern coffee makers. I haven't tried grinding my own coffee, but it could solve the problem. Some tips if you never have used the "old fashioned coffee pot". Use the coldest water you can get. Use a coffee filter, Buy the cheap ones for the " Mr. coffee" fold them in half then in half again. Cut off the corner to make the hole to slip over the stem. Set the coffee on the high heat until it starts perking rapid. Then reduce the heat for slow perk let it perk for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let the coffee stand for about 5 minutes. This lets the remaining coffee drain from the basket and the grounds to settle. This will prevent grounds from getting in the coffee when you pour. Empty, wash, wash and dry when done. Otherwise, the stainless steel will stain. It will come clean but will need stainless steel cleaner and elbow grease. ... show more

When I was growing up, I remember the familiar smell of wonderful coffee percolating in our kitchen. We've had all the new types of coffee preparation, but a few months back we pulled out an old percolator we had and started using it. It makes the best coffee! Ive been wanting a stovetop percolator. So glad I bought this. Nice thing about it besides making really good flavorful coffee is when you dont drink the whole pot, you percolate whats left later in the day and it tastes just as good. The "Ye old" coffee pot in modern stainless steel that is. I bought this pot for the hot water option when heated by different heat sources. This stainless pot will not work on induction stoves - a magnet does not stick to the bottom. I really like the handle; it does not have any hot metal where you can touch it.
