I bought these for my father for father's day and his birthday. These bar stools are very nice. I have had mine at my house for over a year and they still look like brand new. My grand daughter use them when they eat and complete crafts. These are easy to clean. Moderately heavy in weight. They seem to be holding up well. My dad is 84 and I am very comfortable with him using them. They swivel very smoothly. I know they must be good, because my dad wanted a set after he used mine. The dark brown color is very rich and can go with walnut and hickory wood. I would buy again. BTW they are very easy to put together. ... show more

These bar stools are a great value and I am very happy with them. The look good and the seat cushion is well made. They are rated for over 300 pounds, which is good because I have some heavier guests, though the seat itself is on the smaller side, so they may not be super comfortable for a large person. I’m short, and have short legs, and I wish that the cushion extended just a bit further under my legs for support. That said, they are just fine for hanging out in the kitchen and very stable. The colors are as I expected and the material is well made. The seat is very firm; which I find a good long-term attribute. I think they will hold up well. I assembled all 4 stools myself and did not need help from a stronger person to do it. There are some challenges that you need to work through on the first stool; definitely follow the directions about not tightening the legs all the way until the entire chair is assembled. But, the directions suggest half-way and that is over-kill. Leave them a little loose instead and the stool will be easier to manage. The hardest part is finding a way to screw on the back. I set the seat on my dining room table with the chair back on a dining room chair and found that it works best to start all 4 screws into the back a little (the directions say do the middle two first), then tighten the middle two screws, then do the outside screws. The back curves around the seat and the outside screws are at a little bit of an angle until the middle screws are tightened. But I found if I screwed the middle screws in first, I wasn’t guaranteed that the holes would line up for the outside screws, hence starting all 4, at least a little. In hindsight, a helper might have been nice, but I did it. This wasn’t much harder than any of the other furniture that I’ve assembled and the product is much nicer. The hardware is well made and they provided a spare set of all the fittings. ... show more

Love the looks of these. And they are sturdy and swivel easily and smoothly. Fairly easy to put together, though I ended up using my own Allen wrench because the one that came in the kit was too long/awkward for some of the placements. Love that real wood is used. Also grateful there were no added flame retardants. I am Chemically Injured/Sensitive and will say that the smell was overwhelming when I opened the box. Some of it was probably the faux leather and cushion material, but most of it seemed to be the wood/stain. Still, with a fan behind me (blowing the odors away) and a mask, I was able to put it together and the rest of the off-gassing went quickly—I was able to put them in the kitchen immediately after assembly and had no reactions and within a couple days there was no obvious remaining off-gassing even close up. I am immensely grateful for that and chalk it up to the quality materials. The cushions are very stiff and my elderly father had a hard time at first getting up on them (they only measured 1/2" higher than our previous stools, but seemed to make a bigger difference for mounting) but I encouraged him to give them a few days and the cushion has since loosened up and he does fine now. ... show more

Great quality for the price. I’ve had a lot of compliments on them already and they are practical and comfortable. My reason for 4 stars is simply because I paid for new, unopened barstools and got what was very clearly 4 pre purchased ones. The screws were in a random bag, altogether, in one box. In the other box, half were just thrown in the bottom and the other half were slit open already. Some of the wood was a little bit split from them not putting the bolts in correctly.. overall, it’s a good thing they are very easy assemble or else it would have been impossible. If I would have gotten an open box price, I would’ve been fine with it. I just expected my full priced barstools to be brand new. ... show more
