  • Even cooking and absolutely non-stick!
Style: Griddle
We are really impressed with this electric griddle, which is replacing the Teflon griddle we used for 30 years. The ceramic surface is truly nonstick: we used about a teaspoon of butter to "grease" the surface for baking pancakes and next time we'lluse less.) At 22" long, it's larger than we were looking for, but the handles are easy to remove for storage. The recommended temperature for pancakes is 350°F to 400°F. We started at 350. Our batter is rather thick and bubbles weren't forming as soon as we're used to, so we lowered it to 325. Tested one and flipped it easily, and found the underside was done perfectly. (We decided 350 was OK after all. 400 might be right for a thinner batter.) Cleanup was simple. I've included my pancake recipe in case you need a good one to test the griddle. ... show more

  • Great buy
Style: Griddle
I didn’t expect to love the Presto Ceramic Grill as much as I do, but it has honestly become one of my favorite kitchen appliances—especially for quick, healthy meals. First, the ceramic nonstick surface is a huge win. Food doesn’t stick at all, which means I can cook with little to no oil—perfect for keeping things lighter and healthier. Cleanup is incredibly easy too. Most of the time, I just wipe it down with a paper towel and I’m done. The heat distribution is even, which I didn’t expect from a smaller countertop grill. Chicken, burgers, grilled veggies—even sandwiches—cook evenly without hot spots. It heats up quickly, so it’s ideal when I need to get dinner on the table fast. I also really like the compact size. It doesn’t take up much counter space and is easy to store, but it still fits enough food for a small family meal. ... show more

  • Highly Recommended Grill With Excellent Featurs vs other grills
Style: Griddle
I love this grill. The non-stick top performs better than the typical teflon-coated black grills . I can make eggs without having to place oil or butter (scrambled or fried) without the eggs sticking. I grill veges, make quesadillas, and fry burgers or bacon. The best part is that I can remove the plug and the handles with integrated feet in order to clean the grill in the sink. CLEANING: After just a few uses I discovered the brown ring starting to show where the heating element is. I anticipated this after looking at user reviews with photos and videos. I believe this happens due to grease from bacon and other meats getting trapped within the pattern of the grill top which turns browner each time it's reheated . What I do to clean this problem is to take a cleaning brush I got from the dollar store and wet it in some gentle dish-soap sudsy water. I then lightly whisk the area that is brown ensuring that I follow the direction of the pattern in the grill top. I don't scrub but just gently whisk the bristles which will get between the grill's pattern and pick up the grease. I recommend not scrubbing in circles but instead whisk back and forth according to the direction of the pattern. The pattern is like an "X" so bottom left to top right motion and back and then bottom left to top right and back as I go around the entire brown ring on the grill. You may find this tiring or more time-consuming but doing this after grilling meats or using anything that leaves an oily residue will ensure you avoid an ugly brown ring that will take even longer if you wait a month or more to do this type of cleaning. STORAGE: I leave this grill on the counter. I sometimes turn it on its side to provide more room on the counter top but it's convenient to just leave on the counter until I need it. CONCLUSION: Other than cleaning, I don't have much else to suggest when it comes to using this grill. If you've used a grill before then you already know what you can do with this grill as it works exactly the same as any other grill. The only difference is that it seems to provide a superior non-stick and evenly heated cooking experience. This means I highly recommend you get this grill. The price is a great value. My old grill it replaced was only $20 but it was a teflon-coated type that had a smaller cooking surface and began to cut on and off sporadically. It was also impossible to clean the brown-in ring that formed on it. ... show more

  • Great griddle, but non-stick could be improved
Style: Griddle
I have used presto griddles for a couple decades, having 2 over that time. Eventually after regular use over 5-7 years of my last one the non-stick started to be less where I needed to use cooking spray for things like pancakes let alone eggs that stick more. So I looked for a new one and found this. There is a lot to like about it, namely its slim. But the non-stick is not exactly what I hoped it to be. It works well for most things, even sometimes eggs without spray, but the texture on the surface that they call a feature (perhaps for even heating) is more of a pain when it comes to sticking. Food gets in it and the griddle becomes less effective as non-stick because the next round of pancakes, for example, stick to the food in the textured surface not the actual surface. This does wipe clean very easily after cooking, but who wants to do that in-between cooking? The eggs are the worst with them easily flipping once, but the back side of the egg sticks to the left over deposits in the texture. In defense of presto, perhaps I run this a little warmer than I could, but my last griddle did not do this until years of use. Likewise, I bought the regular non-stick version of this griddle prior to this ceramic version and it had the same textured surface and was worse to use. This is still a nice griddle and cooks well, has removable legs and cooks evenly most of the time. I just wanted to share the non-stick performance as I was hoping for a little more with ceramic. ... show more
