The Briggs 550 OHV is a beast of an engine. The mower cuts 6" high grass and will not bog. But it is a bit of a hard starter. Sometimes 8-9 pulls to get it started. But that is after I have turned it on its side to clean grass from the bowl. I have not tried to start it without doing that procedure, which I think drains it completely. Great cut quality with no grass left over, just a clean, smooth lawn. ... show more

After 5 uses part broke and chipped some paint from underneath when part flew off. Very concerned now about rusting unerdneath. I Cannot find a way to contact seller or manufacturer. I gave it 3 stars because mower worked great and was easy to assemble

    • Replacing a disappointing electric mower
Bought this mower to replace an old gas-powered mower used to mulch leaves, and a disappointing electric mower that was going through (non-rechargeable) batteries too quickly. This mower starts with one pull and does a good job both cutting and mulching, and for a reasonable price.
