The principle behind this product is bewildering. Everything is in tension. Nothing fits exactly. Tighten a bolt and the next connection won't work. They tell you virtually nothing in the directions, but they do repeat over and over, in three languages, do not fully tighten the bolts. Ne pas serrer completement les boutons. No ajuste totalmente los pernos. Capisce? Seriously. Do. Not. Tighten. The bolts. Just tight enough to keep it from flying apart, then move on. Tip 2: in a pinch, don't tell anybody, but you can bend the arms. That said: This is a sturdy bronze-age armor suit of a bar-stool. It harkens back to the great battles of ironclad barstools of the first war, etc. It's the sort of stool you're unlikely to find at your local tavern due to the destructive effects of its gravity well. But all that weight gets you something in the end: the thing is ridiculously comfortable and opulent. Buy, buy, buy, but pay the kid next door 20 bucks to put it together, just kidding, COVID. Do it yourself but don't tighten the bolts, and those guys who said it's easy to put together lieeeeeed.

NOTE: These barstools are available on Amazon in both the 24" and 29" seat height. I mistakenly ordered the 24" height first but fortunately noticed in time to cancel the order and reorder the 29" seat height. These chairs are GREAT! The total time to assemble the two barstools was just under two hours. That includes time to gather tools, unpack, assemble and clean up. The directions were clear and easy to follow. I always sort the screws, washers and nuts into bowls or cups with the corresponding letter marked on each one. I've found that it makes the assembly go faster in the long run. HINT: Attach all parts and screw them on LOOSELY until assembly is complete. Then go back and tighten all the hardware. Always do this and you shouldn't have any problems getting parts to line up. A small allen wrench and open end wrench are included but I used my own socket set for faster assembly. The assembled chairs are study and roomy. They are well-crafted and look as if they came from any high-end furniture store. These barstooIs are a great value. I compared similar chairs but they were two to three times the cost. I am confident I will enjoy these chairs for long time.

It is not easy to find a counter top stool that is just the right height … its a game of inches and every inch in this case matters a lot ! The counter top stool like this one was a short 23 inches to the top of the seat and the bar top stool was a tall 30 inches . I wanted 26.5 to the seat top . What was interesting is both the counter and bar stools are exactly the same all the way down to the foot rest ring …. so I ordered two of the 30 inch bar height , they are easy to build and are very solid and stable … nice looking and comfy but way to high for a counter stool . The little hard plastic foot thing that screws into the bottom of each leg is most likely not the smartest thing to have on a new hardwood floor unless you are purposely trying to distress the floor . I guess if you have tile floors they would work fine . (I have 8 of these things for free to anyone that needs them) So to fix evrything and make the perfect stool , I got out the grinder and a 4" cutoff wheel and cut off 3.5 inches from each leg. I got 1" round rubber from Lowes and pushed them on each leg ... what a difference ... these stools are perfect and will not scratch the wood floors .

These stools are very attractive and high quality. They arrived well packaged in heavy duty boxes. There were no missing parts, no damaged pieces and the assembly instructions were easy to follow. I managed the assembly by myself, but it would have been easier and faster with a second set of hands. The stools are roomy, comfortable and very attractive. They measure 34" from the floor to the top of the cushion, which unfortunately makes them too high for their original intent. I liked them so much that I decided to find another use for them and have since purchased other stools to fit my table. I recommend these to anyone who can use a taller bar stool.

These biggest selling point for me was the fact that these stools seemed to have a larger than average cushion/seat area and they do. The back and armrests being metal means thayre not the most comfortable option but still not bad. I had to shorten mine a bit but they're nice tall stools and they really have an appealing look to them however I would never buy these again nor would I recommend them because of one small detail that has ruined them for my household. That would be the curved upper part on both sides of the back. When I was looking at these stools I thought those curved things would be handy for hanging a jacket, bookbag, grocery bag, or whatever on and they are but what I failed to realize is that they stick out just enough to get hooked on my shirt as I walk by, jab me in the chest, back, side, whack the kids up side the head and so on. They're literally so bad that despite not having replacements we don't even use them anymore. We've chosen to stand rather than deal with the aggravasion they cause. I'm a penny pincher and for me these chairs were a bit of a splurge which is tough but hopefully this review will save someone else from the same disappointment which would make it sting a little bit less.
