I recently picked up this Povasee 2000A Jump Starter for my son, who just purchased his first vehicle. It's one of those items that aren't frequently used, but when you need it, you're exceptionally grateful to have it. Upon arrival, we connected it to a USB charger using the supplied cable to top off the battery. Coincidentally, my son had disconnected the battery after installing a new stereo system. We reconnected the ground terminal to the battery and then connected the Jump Starter's black clamp to the battery's ground and the red clamp to the positive terminal while it was still disconnected (from the battery). Once everything was connected, he turned the key and the engine started right up. We tested this about half a dozen times, and it had no issues cranking over the 5.2-liter motor. The Povasee 2000A Jump Starter is incredibly easy to operate; all you need to do is charge it periodically, which can even be done via a USB cigarette lighter adapter and some time. It features a large LED display that shows the battery level and the USB protocol of any outgoing connections. The integrated flashlight provides enough light to illuminate a broad, sizable area, whether changing a tire or working in the engine compartment. To use the Jump Starter, connect the included cable clamp assembly (only connects on way), then attach the red clamp to the positive battery terminal and the black clamp to the negative terminal. Once connected, ensure the Jump Starter is in a safe location away from any moving engine parts (fans, belts, etc.), then start your vehicle. Additionally, the Jump Starter comes with a semi-hard case for convenient storage of the unit itself, the cable clamp assembly, USB cable, and User Manual. It also doubles as an emergency power bank that supports fast charging. The quality appears solid, and its compact design ensures it doesn't take up much space. In all honesty, I'm not sure why it took me so long to acquire one, but I'm certainly glad I did. First off, this is a jump starter for your car. It provides a lot of power for a very short time- enough to run your fuel pump and fuel injectors, power your spark plugs and spin your starter motor to start your car when you have a dead battery. From that point on your car charging system has to take over to keep the car running and recharge your battery. This little box isn't big enough to put significant power back into your battery. Ok maybe it could charge your motorcycle battery or e-bike or something, but not your car main battery. That said, I can't really test it unless I have a dead battery .. and I don't. So .. on inspection, this is a solid little unit about 8" x 3.5". The charging cables are separate and plug into the box but only have a very short cable, less than a foot, so not long enough to set the box on the ground with the cables connected. It's very light- no problem holding the box in your hand while somebody else is turning the key, but if you're by yourself, you'll need to find a safe place on top of the engine where you can set it while you jump in and turn the key. One good thing, the red and black cables are sized just right so that if they're disconnected from the car and just hanging, they don't touch each other and short out. Nice thinking, whoever did that. This box charges from USB-C but doesn't use the latest PD or PPS charging technologies, so it's not lightning fast to charge. It also does USB charging out for your phone, tablet, etc. Again, not the latest tech. Faster than original USB chargers but not like the latest. Also has a flashlight built in. Very handy since in my experience most of my batteries go bad after dark or just before dawn. Comes with a very nice zippered hard sided case. Total weight in the case just over 2 pounds.

I ordered this because of my wife's 2006 Mustang GT Convertible. It is only occasionally driven, mainly on nice clear days, especially if they occur during weekends. Quite often the battery has discharged due to the security system being always active while sitting (I do not have a battery maintainer on it). Also, the battery will occasionally fail if the car is being driven for a short distance, after sitting, before it fully recharges and you need to make a stop (getting fuel for example). For this reason I thought it would be a good idea to carry a portable jump starter that did not require another vehicle to assist using jumper cables. Quite often cables are too short, fail to make a good connection, or just get in the way, creating potential hazards. For these reasons alone, having a compact portable jump starter is a good idea. But what's more important than that? Well, you do not need to depend on a stranger for assistance. That alone makes a portable jump starter a must have. Now, on to the this product: I was very skeptical at first, based upon the compact size, but I charged it as instructed, and the next day connected it to the Mustang that had been sitting dead for about three months. I put the key in, turned the ignition switch to ON (waited for a couple of seconds to get the fuel flowing), turned the key further to START, and WOW! This jump starter spun the engine (better than the installed battery when new) and the engine fired instantly! I was impressed! To top it off, the charge level on the jump starter was still at 100%. I could have started several vehicles! Time will tell if this system will hold up, but for now, I give this one five stars. I plan to put one in my truck and the wife's SUV as well.
