I have been full time in our 5th wheel for almost 3 years now. I had well water for 30 years when we lived in real house so I am quite familiar with water softeners and how they are supposed to work. This unit works well but we use a lot of water and need to re-gen about once a week. I have been testing daily with test strips so I know when I need to do a re-gen. We probably wash 2-3 loads of laundry every day. This seems in line with what I was expecting since we had our whole house softener set to regen every 2 weeks whether it needed it or not. Not sure how some people claim they can go 6 weeks? Doesn't seem practical to me unless they shower only once a week. I did find the good old Morton water softener pellets with iron reduction work best and probably 1/10th of the cost of table salt. I put a filter full in Hefty bags so I am ready to go. The Morton 40LB bag will last 3 months. $8 I use a clear filter similar to the one Pro Aqua sells since Amazon was out of them and fill it full for a regen. Then lay it on the side so it mixes the salt better. I use a standard hose verses the skinny one they supply and just run it with a very slow stream. Takes about an hour. I always fill my fresh water tank before hand so it causes no issues with the wife. We have been using it for a few months now and really like it. I suspect we will get 2 years use before we need to replace the resin. Overall a very good solution for mobile or temporary applications with limited space. All the fittings on my system worked just fine. I think you just need to know how to use a washer properly unless there is a defect.

I've had this for almost 2 years now. The recharge cycle is about 60,000 gallons. I used to keep a monitor on water consumption, not any more so I really couldn't count on trying to determine how many gallons went through it. You can feel when this needs to recharged because you just feel "heavy". That doesn't make much sense until you take your first shower and see how smooth your skin and hair feel. I use painter's tape with a date to determine when I last recharged it. There's a few YouTube channels out there that explain the entire process. The recharging process takes about 2 hours from start to finish regardless of what the instructions say. ** BE SURE to fully rinse out the lines thoroughly before stowing the attachment, filter and hoses. I guess I didn't rinse too well, the outside nozzle is pot metal and shows signs of rust from the salt water. This is kind of heavy to move around once you have water flowing into it so be sure to position this about where you want to have it functioning. This is our second winter using this. It has a "neoprene" covering that helps during freezing temps, just protect the hoses is all that's needed. The main container It WILL NOT freeze in our experience. The Filter - We don't use this in our RV. I only use it for recharging the main container. Minus 1 star for the BAD instructions printed on 1 piece of paper.. Had to visit the website to get better instructions.

My girlfriend and I moved out to the country. The water was extremely hard causing our skin to dry out and it was hel on her hair. Moving forward. Saw this on Amazon. Awesome price , great review. Got I in. Super easy install. Pic is the way I got it now but will mount it on plywood and plum it with 3/4 PVC for a permanent condition. Water is now great and we are happy. I would recommend this kit with the filter as opposed to the tank itself as you can recharge the system by draining the filter and adding salt as directed. Definitely use shut off valves before and after unit and some form of union of disconnect for servicing.

08/19/2025 UPDATE #2. I dropped all the way to one star. I can not get more than 3 days use without running 2lbs of salt to reset the tank and filter must be changed every 3 days. This does not hold up to the claims. "The 16,000 grain capacity will provide up to 40 days (2,000 gallons) of softened water depending on your hardness and usage". I am one person using the camper 4 days a week just in the evening after 7pm and night. 1 Shower in the morning, and washing 1 plate, bowl and glass and a fork each day. And the toilet. I use bottled water for drinking and brushing teeth. That does not add up to 2000 gallons in 4 days. In fact this last week was 3 days and the smell returned the 4th. This product does not work as advertised and I cant return it. So Im out a few hundred dollars. I also want to mention that finding replacement filter every three - 4 days use is almost impossible and very expensive. Based on this final review, and no response from the company, I have to give them a 1. It does work, but only for a few days. Then you end up spending a lot of time to regen and have to buy new prefilters every three days. 07/10/2025. Update. Dropping 1star. It still works, but after the first month, I’ve had to regen the system with 2 pounds of salt every week. I only use the camper Monday night through Thursday night and then I’m home on the weekends. So it’s only getting four days use.. the regen process running saltwater through it backwards works as it supposed to, but again only last four days. . I tried reaching out to the company, but they have not responded. It is possible that the system is defective, but not sure since it does work again after the regen process. But seriously, I’m not gonna do this every 4 day, once a month is doable, but not every 4 days. 03/31/2025 I did have one problem with the outlet from the big black tank. Not sure why the existing output leaked so bad, but I finally went and bought a new brass fittings from the hardware store and leak is fixed. I did try and tighten and retape the threads but no luck. The part was defective. Regardless, I still am giving this a 5 stars. If Customer service would like to reach out to me about this issue, i will be glad to share my information. I bought this for my camper at the RV park that has well water. Not sure I trust the water here even after this filter system, but it looks like it 100% works. In just the first 2 mins, this is what the prefilter looks like. My neighbor does not have a filter on his system and his water is dark in color and smells like Rotten Eggs / Sulfur. My water in the camper is clean and has no smell. Looks fantastic. I am having my water tested both out of the pipe and out from the 2 stage filter system, so I can see what the before and after results are. And then I will update my results. I hope I can come back and state that the water is safe for consuming.
