Galinand's ice machine works exactly like I had hoped it would. The only part of the product listing that I question is how loud it is. It is supposed to be 18dB, "ultra-quiet," and softer than a whisper. Anyone whispering that loudly might as well not try whispering. I would favorably compare the sound to that of a vacuum cleaner from two rooms away or so. It might be similar to my aquarium pump, but only if I factor in the waterfall filtration. The noise isn't enough to really bother me, but I think they're giving it too much credit if they compare it to a whisper. Apart from that, this device is wonderful at pumping water to keep the pad cold. The two layers of the pad are joined in places in such a way that the water has to go in from one tube and the entire way around the pad before it exits again through the other tube. The two tubes have an insulating sleeve on them to help keep the water cool and the bucket itself is also fairly well insulated. I find it more than adequate to keep water cool during the timed session options. I haven't found any water leaking out of the bucket, tubes, or pads. The connectors on the tubing are of very good quality. They snap together easily and have a button to detach them again. It doesn't take a whole lot of effort to put the tubes together or take them apart, but they're quite secure while they're together. I was a little surprised by all the parts that came in the box, but once I actually got everything out, it's pretty straightforward what gets attached to what and how to put it all together. I purposefully tried putting it together without reading instructions first and had no difficulty doing so. I still read the instructions afterwards and would recommend reading them first even though they didn't contain much information that wasn't sort of obvious. The booklet is printed in a large, easy-to-read print and is well written. One thing that I particularly like about this device is that I can choose how cold I want the water. I have other ice packs that I can freeze, but the packs start out as numbingly cold and within 10 or 15 minutes, they need to go back into the fridge. With this, I can start out the water at a temperature that my skin can withstand and it holds the temperature well. If I needed colder water again, some more ice cubes would be all it would take. No complaints. Great option for cold therapy. 5 stars.

I received this product free of charge to share my product experiences with Amazon customers to help them make informed buying decisions. This is an honest review from a real person. I didn’t pay for the item, so I will only comment on the apparent quality and utility, not on the value. Prices fluctuate regularly and I always recommend shopping around and comparing what’s available to get your best deal on the date you decide to buy. This ice machine gives you both cold therapy and compression. I use it for my knee, but the wrap can also be used on an elbow or ankle. Set up is pretty easy. Put ice and water in the bucket, connect the hoses, and strap on the compression wrap. I originally started with cubed ice, but then started using frozen water bottles and found this was much easier to do and made clean up afterwards much faster and less messy. The wrap has adjustable straps. The cooling effect works pretty good and lasts longer than I expected. Plenty long enough for my 20-30 minute treatments. The pump motor is a little louder than I’d prefer, but not terrible. Has a nice, simple to use wired controller. Results, good for swelling, no noticeable effect on my knee pain. 4 stars. I rate products according to the following scale: 1 Star: Do not buy. Very poor quality, functionality, or other issues. 2 Stars: Do not buy. Not as bad as a 1 Star, but it still has major downsides. 3 Stars: There are some issues as described in my review. Shop around before you buy 4 Stars: This item met my expectations and functions as intended. 5 Stars: I love this item. It exceeds my expectations for quality and function.

I got this for my housemate, as he was having rotator cuff surgery. They tried to sell him an ice machine like this at the doctor, but it was around $400 and insurance wouldn't cover it. It was kismet that I was able to get this for him. It took some practice for getting it positioned correctly for his shoulder, but with my help we were able to do so. Luckily we have enough room in our freezer for ice packs and our freezer also makes a lot of ice, so we are able to use packs and ice together. He really likes the auto shutoff because he sometimes falls asleep while using it. Being able to control the flow is handy as well. The unit isn't too big and so far it hasn't leaked. He feels like it's helped his shoulder and it's way better than just using ice packs that are numbingly cold and don't conform to body parts very well. The price of this machine also makes it more attractive. And it's easy to use, which is always a huge plus!
