First impressions, this must be made for a hobit. It's much smaller than I had thought. The griddle can fit 4 eggs, plus maybe 4 pieces of bacon, or sausage if you don't mind things overlapping. Perfect for an omlet for 3 or 4 people. It's no doubt a very handy gadget to own. The griddle heats up very nicely, on level 5 is was about 300, what you would want for eggs, but it can get a lot hotter. It's not completely evenly heated however. There are hot and cooler spots that range 50 degrees more or less. (mainly the center of each circle is the hottest). Using the lid makes more heat throughout for even cooking, or just move things around every once in a while. It's a heck of a lot better, hotter, quicker, than those cheaper griddles. My pots and pans heated up, but here's the CONs and what you should know.. Thin pans like stainless steal will heat up FAST and more even, while the others with heavier thick bases over inches will take a little longer with more uneven cooking. Unfortunately, I got an 11" fry pan (expensive one), and it only gets a hot temp in the middle 6", it's too large for these coils. I haven't cooked on it yet, but assume things will need to be moved around, and frying with it might be less than perfect. Going to fry chicken tomorrow and update this if I have bad results. ... show more

This thing is quite compact, and I love that about it, having the versatility to turn it into a griddle is wonderful, but the heat does still focus near the two circles on it. The only real downside to this thing is the very high pitched metallic whine it makes when it's heating. Some people might be really sensitive to that. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. The place i live in doesn't come with a stove and i had an electric two burner stove but it was a struggle to cook on it because only one burner would get hot enough to boil water and i couldn't even dream of getting oil to appropriate frying temperture. Furthermore, if i turned on both burners they would both stay at low tempertureand take super kong to cook. I decide to switch to this induction stove and I can use both burners no issues. I was finally able to fry foods and get it crispy. The only thing I have decided to knock one star because the beeping noise when plugging in, turning on, switching temperture it is really annoying. ... show more

With induction it really matters the size of the circles on the cooktop because that is really your limitation to heated area on the pan. These have a smaller radius than my single cooktop and as a result if I turn it up enough to heat a larger pan it leaves a burn mark in the center of the pan. If not used for cooking larger items, this cooktop works very well and I can use two pans at the same time. The griddle is very useful. ... show more

I have had it for about a month. It has been my main unit for cooking in the RV. I really like how easy it is to you and even easier to clean. I was skeptical about the price because it seemed pretty hefty for comparable units. This one is perfect though and the griddle puts it hands down better than the other cook top units. Love Love Love it. Bought a new G.E. Modern Looked introduction Never worked. Had to return it. Went to buy a temporary hot plate, almocst bought another till it said no plug. Found out had to be hard wired. So was leary about this one. But sounded good as it said plug in. I did and waited for fuse to blow DIDNT. LOL After using this item I am now going to take my time as it fits my needs. I will now look into buying a induction stove. Once u go induction u cant go back. It passed the rice test 3 xs. I made perfect rice and the cool down feature amazing as it dosnt burn like an electric stove. Dont know why people. ple say its to small, it is compact but can easly cook for two to three people unless u are PIGS and eat alot (LOL) . Just used the Grill. Wow Fit 6 yes 6 pork chops.
