My husband was dubious that this could make any difference in an above ground pool. But for the price, was worth a try. It took some doing trying to find the right way to get it to stay in place. The clamp assembly should come with an extra item: a thick piece of rubberized fabric. I used a big square of non-skid area rug pad, folded up to the right thickness. Helped keep the clamp in the right position once the pump is on and suction begins. I closed the 2cnd intake to increase the suction. Was pleasantly surprised with how clean the pool surface was when I checked a couple hours later. I bought extra fine debris socks, they help a lot!

Not only does it not attach securely to the side, but there's too big of a gap around the outside of the skimmer basket that lets all the debris in to collect in the bottom... which eventually clogs the hose. I tried to make it work but i continue to have issues. It shouldn't be this much work. My last one wasn't. I'm sending back and have already reordered the last one. UPDATE: The seller reached out to try to make it right and even asked for a photo of the new product I purchased and questions about why it was better. It seems like they really are trying to make their product better. Not only did they refund my money, but gave me an additional gift card for my troubles. While this is not a product i would buy again, I will say the customer service is well above the lackluster service you typically see in today's world. I would definitely buy from this seller again.

This thing is a piece of trash. It broke as soon as I installed it. I started out clamping it to the side of the pool. The clamp will not tighten. The more you tighten it with the side clamps, the more the clamps on top move making it impossible. I tightened the top clamp and one of the plastic set screws broke. Then I reached in to pull the basket and the basket handle broke. I only recommend this if you want to waste your money and be angry.

The canister is smaller than my older one but it works great. Easy to set up. Many attachments (universal parts) allowing it to fit many styles of pools. The plastic parts all seem very strong and durable.

The material is sturdy and it is easy to install. Went with this model because I don’t fill my pool too high and other brands did not sit low enough to be underwater. This one also sits level where others sat at an angle and seemed to want to flow off with the current. Just be careful with the clamp as too much pressure could snap the plastic.

This pool skimmer works great. We got it and immediately put it to use since we have a cheaper 12ft pool that didn’t come with any type of skimmer. It easily cleaned the insects and leaves in no time(I purposely didn’t clean pool for a few days to test it out.) It is compact so it keeps the pool appearance nice and neat. It seems to be made from quality materials and I believe it will last. I wish I knew they made these last year it would have been so much easier to keep pool clean!
