While I often wait a little longer before writing a review on a product, I simply cannot with the "Water Tech Pool Blaster Aqua Broom". It's a crazy name, I know - I sat there looking at it like you are now and finally decided to check out some reviews. It didn't give me a lot of information so I decided to take a chance. Well - you're in luck because I'm about to give you the low down on this item! First of all, let me back up. I've had a hot tub our at our lake house for a while. It's been my favorite thing and I'm in it all the time. We often entertain, and as such the hot tub gets used a bit. That said, I didn't really realize what "heavy hot tub use" was until I started Airbnb'ing the place. The hot tub was pretty much being used all the time! Now, with as much as I had used it before, I never saw this occur but I realize my careful preening as an owner using it was very very different from our wonderful guests who were just enjoying the heck out of a hot tub! Suddenly, we had SILT! ...Yep, somehow dirt and minerals or whatever the heck all found its way into my hot tub and it doesn't float. I tried and tried to get it out but nets just don't work. I was at a point where I started wondering if I needed to drain the hot tub weekly (a major undertaking IYKYK)... but then I checked Amazon for a solution for my size of problem. There it was, the Water Tech Pool Blaster Aqua Broom! So I took a chance and got it, it was easy to assemble (like three pieces that click together) and after inserting the D batteries, I was in business! I went to my (now very) silty hot tub, turned it on and lowered it in and wow! Now I had a water vacuum... just like your vacuum at home, this thing pulls everything in and pushes water out instead of air! It picks up silt in seats great, takes care of it on steps, and gets into the corners with ease!! Now, you can snap on any common pool handle on the end. I'm just using it in a hot tub, so I didn't even do that. Just me hanging onto the end that you see in the pic. If I can find a small handle maybe I will, but it works just as is. I love it. It cleans the silt out of my hot tub and makes it look great again! If you've read this far, you already know what I'm about to say - you need this. It's what you've been looking for!

The performance is nice it removes leaves, dirt, and bugs. It’s easy to assemble and use. The handle stability could be a little more sturdy but it can be replaced with a better handle. Decent size for an above ground pool.

I thought that this would be good for the stairs and for when I didn't want to drag the big vacuum out. I thought I'd try it and if it didn't work it did say "Amazon free returns". Silly me, I should have read the fine print! I tried it and I did not have trouble turning it on and off like some other people wrote. A switch would be more convenient, but it was okay. I also already have long poles and it was easy to interchange the poles with the adapter that they give you. The problem is, it does not really suck up the fine debris that I wanted it for. It will suck leaves, but the filter basket is so small that it fills up immediately plus I can get leaves with a net. I sometimes have small particles on the pool floor, it did not pick these up. So I thought I guess I'll return. I started a return and at the end it said if it was used there was a 20% fee and if I had gotten free shipping I would be charged the shipping. So, I guess I am not returning because I would probably end up owing them money! Not really, but probably at least half. The lesson learned here is read the fine print. If I had just poked around the return policy I might have seen that and I honestly wouldn't have bought it. Fortunately it wasn't too much money. I am updating my review. After I wrote this I found that they had a fine mesh bag included and attached that and that solved my problem! However, it stopped working (which is why I didn't write this sooner). I contacted the company and customer service couldn't be nicer! They have a year warranty and they sent me a new one! They also told me that they recommend taking the batteries out after every use to prevent corrosion in case water gets in which is what they think happened to mine.
