  • Met expectations
This machine is awesome. It had my pool clean in a couple of days. Worth the money.

  • Brakes frequently
We bought this Quattro pool cleaner, February 15, 2025. It does a fantastic job, I have never had a pool cleaner do a better one. The problem is is that over the past 15 months the “engine“ has broken four times! The first two times were under warranty and was repaired free of charge. During that time we had no pool cleaner for about a month while the part was ordered and the repair was made by the local pool shop. The last time we had to buy the part at approximately $151 , on Amazon and our pool service man repaired it for $100 labor. Now the engine has broke again. This is the fourth time in the last 15 months. Repairs are very expensive. Be aware that the unit is also very heavy to be removed from the pool and needs to be cleaned frequently. The hopper that holds the debris in the machine are small. we need to clean it every 2 to 3 days. Given the price of the unit, and the frequency of repairs that we have experienced, I do not recommend this unit to anyone.. ... show more

  • Best Pool Cleaner I’ve Ever Owned!**
I’m *super happy* with this Polaris pressure-side pool cleaner—it’s hands down the best I’ve ever had. It works fast and effectively, keeping my pool spotless with minimal effort on my part. One of my favorite features is the built-in debris canister. No more dealing with messy bags that need constant replacing. The canister is easy to empty and does a great job collecting leaves, dirt, and other debris. I’ll admit, I avoided upgrading for a while because my pool system is older and doesn’t have a booster pump. I didn’t want to deal with adding another pump. But now that I’ve made the switch, I *wish I’d done it a couple of years ago*. Adding the booster wasn't that big of a deal, and the performance is now impressive. It has great traction, climbing the pool walls and gets all of the junk my redwood trees deposit in the bottom. If you're on the fence like I was, don’t wait—this cleaner is a game changer. ... show more

  • Best Cleaner Hands Down
By far the best pool cleaner we’ve had. It gets our big leaves and all of the sand. Wish it would climb steps and clean those because the bottom is perfect.

  • Effective easy to use pressure side pool cleaner
This is my 12th year as an in-ground pool owner whose always used a Polaris 280, but after going through my initial cleaner and then refurbishing it with their rebuild kit and finally replacing all of it two years ago with another 280. I was always generally happy with my 280, but it required lots of tweaking to make sure it worked correctly and even with all of that it still sometimes misses much of the pool floor and doesn't clean the walls at all (yes I know it isn't designed to do that). So I finally retired it at the end of the 2025 pool season and vowed to get a pressure side crawler and waited for their P40 to go on sale. I put it into service in under an hour and it seamlessly replaced my 280. I had upgraded my cleaner pump 3 years ago to a Polaris PB4-60 3/4 HP pump and it has been awesome, but once I paired with the the P40 I've never seen my pool look better and no more having the cleaner tail breach the surface and spray salt water all over my patio windows or see it stuck and won't back up because the valve failed yet again (went through 6 of them over the years) - not with the P40 I don't need to hear that annoying valve surfacing and releasing air or worry about the cleaner spraying water all over everything when it reaches the surface. I really was hoping the P40 would climb walls better, but given everything else it does well I am very happy so far having used it just over a month now. It is very easy to clean out and isn't crazy heavy to get out of the pool (Please use the handle - don't lift it out of the water using the hose at all since the hose connection is plastic and could break easily under strain. It is also very quiet too and covers my pool floor very good and walls ok. It is substantially more expensive than the 280 about 2.5 times the cost, but it is worth it if your like me and do your own pool maintenance - no more replacing nasty bags and tail scrubbers that wear out all the time. In retrospect I wish I had gone with the P40 from the git-go on my pool, it would have saved me lots of grief ... show more

  • Big improvement compared to the Polaris 280, Climbs walls, great suction.
We upgraded form the Polaris 280. The one we inherited when we purchased the house had some age on it. I did some maintenance, but it was time to replace it. This thing definitely works better than the 280, it has no problem climbing the walls. There are 2 drawbacks worth mentioning. If you swim with it active in the pool, which is common for me to do when I'm along. The roller on the front will grab your feet. It won't really hurt but it will scary you pretty good. Compared to the 280 which typically just bounced off, this one grabs you. Also, I had to add ladder shields to keep it from getting stuck behind the ladder. That wasn't a problem with the 280 because it didn't climb walls. ... show more

  • TOTAL JUNK -RUN AWAY
I was getting some Black Algae...this great unit helped with that. I Could not get out there and Sweep the Pool as much as I would have liked. So, when my old JET-VAC Twisted around its self and blew the line out. I went for it and got his. A bit Pricey but will be well worth it if it holds up for many years. ---UPDATE--- DO NOT BUY ! ! This is TOTAL JUNK. I have had this unit just under 2 years. I and had to have it totally overhauled at the 11 month mark each year. Year 1 complete transmission overhaul. PLASTIC GEARS SUCK ! ! The thing was spinning in Circles at the bottom of the pool. GEARS Gone stripped out. Year 2 complete transmission overhaul. PLASTIC GEARS SUCK ! ! Same Issue as above I will be out of warranty in 1 month. So next Year I will be paying $400 to repair it. For $1200 They should have Stainless Gears not this worthless Plastic Gearing. ------Total Junk Run from this Product------ ... show more

  • Good good for a above ground pool
I’m sure it would work well and above ground pool I bought it for an inground pool cause it said it would be for an inground pool. It doesn’t go down deep enough for my pool. It doesn’t mean it’s not a good product. It is. It’s just not good for a deep pool.
