  • If only the cord wouldn’t tangle daily.
Great cleaner and does the job in general very well. Scrubs the walls and water line as it claims. App was a little clunky to set up but worked out. Keep in mind people with no common sense design these things it appears or seem to have owned a pool Here are the negatives. 1. Cord tangles daily. Sorry but, pools need to be cleaned daily and hauling this in and out of the pool is counter productive to free time. But this is their expectation. The cord tangles daily because the swivel on the cord and cord material are not in harmony. They say to lay it out in the sun to remove the memory, fine, I do, that makes me work, reducing work is why I bought a pool cleaner. And, the sun isn’t always out and warm year round. After you lay the cord out to remove the memory, it tangles again during first use. 2. Too big and wide as they all are for steps. I have three long linear steps, it may hit the first step partially once a week. 3. The control box is not waterproof, they want you to haul this in and out each day. Good luck if it rains during your use. So, plan on buying a waterproof junction box for $100 if you plan to keep this in use as most need to. Pools need to be cleaned daily with these. 3. You have to buy the fine screen filter, the one it comes with is too open. I’d pay up for the one with mapping but, overall best stupid cleaner I’ve had so far. ... show more

  • Kicks others butts!
Only had it three weeks so longevity is a ? It replaced a closely priced Dolphin Premier that was 3 weeks out of warranty AND had a new motor installed at almost 2 years. NO CONTEST. The Polaris cleans better. Recovers itself to tour pool side location and is waaaay easier to clean and store . Hopefully it will last ... show more

  • Very Disappointef! Doesn't connect to robotic cleaner network
I generally do not write reviews unless they would be significantly helpful to a potential buyer. I would have like to know what I know now before spending $1300 on this cleaner. I like the Polaris 9650iq robot cleaner, but it does not do what it says--control it by iAqualink app. It says it is unable to connect to the robotic cleaner network. I called tech support and they were not helpful at all. I have tried all troubleshooting (deleted app/re-downloaded it, moved it closer to wifi, received new control box, used it in GFIC (?) outlet, etc). I can just put it in the water and it will do its thing, but I feel it should do what it advertises or at least tech support have someone able to fix these issues. I in the process of sending it back, but if anyone knows a work-around for getting the control box to communicate with the iAqualink app I will keep it. But if not, I will probably get one of the Dolphin robotic cleaners 🚫iAqualink. ... show more

  • Great cleaner, pool intelligence
Was able to run this cleaner once and it was very likely the cleanest my pool has ever been! Unfortunately, the little 2 "head" unit that controls the wireless access would not connect to the Internet. I tried 3 different phones and 3 different routers on 3 different days and it just would not connect. I sent emails to the seller and they quickly responded. I even sent emails to the manufacturer, but they never responded. I ended up having to take the thing apart so I could sent it all back in "brand new" condition because they won't just send me a replacement part. It seems to be all or nothing. I'm sure that's pretty standard across the board. However, it wasn't worth the trouble. And I still haven't received a refund or a replacement or whatever it is they are doing. If you do buy one and I do recommend it if you can afford it. Test the little head unit to make sure you can control it remotely before you take the whole thing out of the box and assemble it. ... show more

  • So Far So Good
I have only used this for a month, so if things change I will repost. In the meantime, I bought this Polaris P965iQ to supplement my in- ground automatic cleaning system so that I could get the leaves off the bottom faster now that fall is approaching. It just needs to run over it once to pick up the leaves with a decent sized basket, which is easily cleaned. So, at least initially, the suction is very good. The soft rubber treads have good cleaning ability and create no slippage climbing the sides. The Polaris has no issues climbing to the beach shelf area and 2 in-pool benches for a complete cleaning cycle. I have a 30X50 foot irregular shaped pool and it cleans in approximately 2 1/2 hrs. The cord is plenty long enough and, as of yet, has not tangled. The “return” feature is wonderful to lift it out of the water, which is not heavy when the water quickly evacuates. Lastly, the convenient carrier rolls away quickly. I would definitely recommend this automatic cleaner. One negative, if you can call that, is the download to your cell phone. It is connected to your WIFI so it allows a hacker another potential “in”. Also, since it is not recommended to leave it in the pool multiple days, there is really no reason to need to start it when you are not home. So you are paying for that extra feature, which I will never use. ... show more

  • Easy to operate
I am happy with this cleaner as it has the ability to collect fine silt that settles in the pool. You will need to purchase the fine basket to accomplish this as the regular basket will not do as good of a job. I have a screened in pool so there really is no large items that the cleaner will deal with. I like that the cord will not tangle and you can control where to send the robot for cleaning. My second robot and wish I had bought this model the first time. ... show more

  • Does not last!
This cleaner works great for the 3-4 months. After that the cord gets soft and starts to tangle, the cleaner surfaces to the top and spins itself in circles. After the first season of having this thing, it was junk! Got the infamous Error-10 code and replaced the cord which was $340.00, only to have it work for 15 minutes and give another error-10 code. I called the manufacturer, and of course they have a list of reasons why things went bad. Funny thing is, we never mistreated this machine. We took it out of the pool daily and stored it. We cleaned it regularly. And basically babies it becausethe initial cost was so high. It's in the shop now getting the motherboard replaced so we are back to our regular cleaner... the one that stays in the pool unless we are in it! ... show more
