Features

  • [ELECTRONIC COOLING FOR SMALL TANKS] This small aquarium chiller uses electronic refrigeration technology, no need to add refrigerant, which is efficient for small fish tank cooling and with low noise, less than 45db
  • [ACCURATE & STABLE TEMPERATURE CONTROL] Probe on the back of the water chiller must be put fully into the water, so that the controller can detect and maintain the water temperature as you desired accurately
  • [WELL FOR ORNAMENTAL FISH] 16gal fish tank chiller is ideal for household small aquariums. The temperature reduction will not be very severe, it can give your fish a process of adaptation, and finally provide a comfortable living environment, about 2-5F lower than the room temp
  • [SMOOTH WATER CIRCULATION] Equipped with a small water pump, it's easy to disassemble and clean. To ensure a smooth water supply, we recommend that the distance between the chiller and the pump be limited to 19 inches
  • [SIMPLE INSTALLATION] Aquarium water chiller is equipped with a 2.1m/82.7 inch long water pipe, you just need to cut it into 2 pieces and connect them with the chiller and water pump

  • Chiller works for 12 gallon tank! Pump sux!
I've had the chiller for about 2yrs now. It absolutely chills my 12gl tank down to 65 (or less if I wanted) w/ ease in a 75+ degree room. Read the instructions and set the F1 to 4 so it turns off at your desired temp and then back on when it's 4 degrees warmer. If you don't set the F1 the chiller might freeze up the lines like mine did. That could have possibly have been b/c the pump that comes with it is a joke and can barely make the water trickle out of the hose even with the chiller being set at water level (so not enough power/suction needed to push the water). I ended up buying a different pump (AQUANEAT pump (265GPH)) and it's the correct size for the small rubber (.5/16") hose and cranks the water through very well. It's an extra $12 investment but works like a charm! NOTE: if the chillers temp probe is running a couple degrees off you can simply change the F2 setting to +/- the amount of degree its off and fix that problem. Mine was reading 2 degrees high so is set F2 to -2 and that fixed it. ... show more

  • Works well for small RDWC hydroponics system in grow tent
I'm using this chiller to cool the nutrient solution in my small RDWC setup (1 reservoir w/2 five gallon grow buckets.). When the grow tent temp is 75 deg. F,, the lowest solution temp attainable has been 65 deg. F., which is fine. A total liquid volume involved is about 9 gallons. The chiller is outside the tent, on a basement floor, in a 62-68 deg. F. room. I have not tested it in a warmer grow tent. Essentially the Poafamx chiller is a nicely packaged unit, incorporating a peltier electronic based liquid cooling module. This is the same tech used for cooling overclocked/high performance CPUs, and a variety of other electronics. Search Amazon for peltier modules, and you'll see that you can create/assemble your own system for much less than the Poafmax, but you will be hard pressed to DIY as nice a unit. Keep in mind that this model Poafamx is their 60 liter/16 gal electronic chiller, They also make more expensive compressor style chillers. I'm very pleased with the initial performance of the Poafamx chiller in my specific situation. Your mileage may vary. ... show more

  • You get what you pay for!
This device does work, but don't expect Miracles! It will cool your tank 5-7 degrees, and keep it there if you keep it running constantly. The temp controller has such a large deadband, that by the time it turns back on after cycling, you are stuck waiting several more hours for it to get back to temp. The build quality leaves a bit to be desired, and if you need too cool anything larger than 5-7 gallons reliably, you'll need to pony up the $$$ and buy something more powerful. It is asking a lot of a ~200W Thermoelectric cooler to remove much heat from a large mass of water in a reasonable time, so not terribly surprising at the end of the day. It is quiet(probably part of why it has a hard time working - slow fans!), if that is important to you and your aquarium is small. Just remember that Peltier cells have a limited lifespan, so the clock is ticking until it just wont be able to do the job anymore! ... show more

  • Spend the money to buy better
I have 15 gal in a rdwc set up. It hasn't dropped the temp at all. I have water coming out like it's suppose to, the fan is blowing, but not cooling. I'll be returning this

  • Poco efectivo.
Terminé realizando devolución debido a que solo baja pocos grados y es en base a la temperatura AMBIENTAL que es lo que en verdad hay que combatir. Si hacer calor no dejarás de ponerle hielo al agua porque este enfriador es insuficiente.
