Chiller works for 12 gallon tank! Pump sux!
I've had the chiller for about 2yrs now. It absolutely chills my 12gl tank down to 65 (or less if I wanted) w/ ease in a 75+ degree room. Read the instructions and set the F1 to 4 so it turns off at your desired temp and then back on when it's 4 degrees warmer. If you don't set the F1 the chiller might freeze up the lines like mine did. That could have possibly have been b/c the pump that comes with it is a joke and can barely make the water trickle out of the hose even with the chiller being set at water level (so not enough power/suction needed to push the water). I ended up buying a different pump (AQUANEAT pump (265GPH)) and it's the correct size for the small rubber (.5/16") hose and cranks the water through very well. It's an extra $12 investment but works like a charm! NOTE: if the chillers temp probe is running a couple degrees off you can simply change the F2 setting to +/- the amount of degree its off and fix that problem. Mine was reading 2 degrees high so is set F2 to -2 and that fixed it.

I’ve had this since November on a 10 gallon system and it has already broken. It worked fine for the first couple months but I have slowly watched the temp rise over the past couple months. I’ve tried flushing it and changing the flow rate but still does nothing. Don’t buy unless you only need it to work for a month

Worked well for me, until I broke it.
Mine worked well for 9 months through 2 one bucket DWC grows. Was in the early flowering stage with a 3 bucket rdwc when I decided to swap my rez. The unit kept the water temperature a consistent 68 degrees. I failed to turn off the chiller after turning off the pump that supplied it water. The thermostat told the unit it was above temperature so the unit continued to cool. Freezing the water within and blowing out the metal area the water passed thru to chill. Totally my fault. Other than that the unit operated as expected. The supplies water lines will fill up with algae if exposed to light. They will slowly turn black and be filled with black goop. Just remember to turn the unit off when cleaning your aquarium or swapping your rez.

Quality cooler
Really nice cooler for the money, but it won't cool a very large tank. Believe them when they say 16 gal. Whisper quiet operation. Quality construction.

Not worth it
It worked for a while, to produce a cooling effects of about 3-5 degrees. But then it got clogged up by algae in the tubes and inside the cooler. I was able to clear the tubes, and by running vinegar-water through the cooler for a week and then using a forceful hand pump to force liquid through the chiller at high pressure, I was able to get it to work for another 3 months or so. And now it's clogged up again... I tried to find support on here - found nothing. I tried searching the internet for solutions, support - found nothing. I don't have time for this... Looking for something else. If anyone knows of a chiller that can be maintained (i.e. easily cleared of obstructions) then please reply here. UPDATE: Downgraded to just one star - because I can't give zero. The device started to leak from the inside. I tried to find out where the leak was, but it was impossible. I collected all of it and tossed it in the garbage.

Nice little chiller for cash
Once I figured out how to set it up works great. Bought a second one for my other coral tank 32 gal bio cube for summer months. Just enough to keep tank at 77. Note you will need extension tubing. They send some but its not really long enough

Thing keeps shutting off and it’s pissing me off hopefully it’s something dumb , but it’s about to get hit with a pipe .

You get what you pay for!
This device does work, but don't expect Miracles! It will cool your tank 5-7 degrees, and keep it there if you keep it running constantly. The temp controller has such a large deadband, that by the time it turns back on after cycling, you are stuck waiting several more hours for it to get back to temp. The build quality leaves a bit to be desired, and if you need too cool anything larger than 5-7 gallons reliably, you'll need to pony up the $$$ and buy something more powerful. It is asking a lot of a ~200W Thermoelectric cooler to remove much heat from a large mass of water in a reasonable time, so not terribly surprising at the end of the day. It is quiet(probably part of why it has a hard time working - slow fans!), if that is important to you and your aquarium is small. Just remember that Peltier cells have a limited lifespan, so the clock is ticking until it just wont be able to do the job anymore!
