  • Don't listen to negative reviews
I don't know why people are giving this a negative review but this worked perfectly on my E39. Got stuck halfway through when I realized my regular ball joint tool wasn't long enough to work so I had to order this. This thing literally came off in less than a minute. It takes a 24 mm wrench or socket and you're not supposed to but I very carefully used my half inch impact and it worked great ... show more

  • Worked Great. Use lube.
Worked perfectly for my 2001 e39 530i, just make sure you get some grease on the threads so it doesn't bind up. Mine started to bind after pressing in the first new ball joint, put some silicon brake grease on the threads and now it works perfect again. If you are also wondering I did use an impact and it didn't snap or anything so it seems to be good. ... show more

  • Great tool for the price, but....
The sockets were terrific. Well made with bearings to reduce friction while tightening the nut and bolt. However, the bolt is the weak link. It must have stretched during the first ball joint removal because, despite using copious amounts of high strength wheel grease on the bolt and the bearings, about halfway down the threads, the nut wouldn't turn. I was able to use washers to keep the sockets in the necessary location to remove and install the ball joints, but I definitely need a new bolt. ... show more

  • A must have tool for replacing rear ball joints in a BMW
I tried unsuccessfully using a universal ball joint tool trying to make it work for over an hour. With this removal/install tool it took 20 minutes per side.

  • It’s a percent size for E60 models on Knuckle Bushing
I’m very happy for what I paid for it, I just wish it had more options on other bushings my cars have but oh well

  • Where's the rest of it?
Kit arrived after a week or so. I was ready to go, but when I opened up this kit, it was missing one of the pressing cups for installing the ball joint. I was able to use what arrived to remove the ball joint, but cannot press in the new one without the missing cup. And, I'll only be able to do one side, because the bearings on the one cup that arrived fell apart after the first use. Now I have to search for a more solid and expensive kit. I guess you get what you pay for. ... show more

  • Worked great for my e39 M5
Used this tool to remove and install the rear ball joints on my e39 M5. It didn't come with instructions, so it took a little while to figure out the cups and recievers, but the tool worked great! Definitely worth it! The clearance is tight and this tool had a cup notched out to clear are area.

  • I removed the ball joint ( in wheel carrier) off my 2006 BMW 530i.
I "removed" the ball joint ( in wheel carrier) off my 2006 BMW 530i with ease. However, it could not be used to "install" new ones, because the "bolt is too short"! Luckily, the "longer bolt" from my Maddox Strut Spring Compressor set was available to remedy the problem.
