Bought this pizza oven since I hate using my oven but love using my grill. Tried it with many different pizzas I had and it worked well with all of them. There's some trial and error required to dial it in but overall I won't be going to any other way to cook a pizza from now on. There's really no other way to make a pizza as long as you have a good grill. Update: Got some Chicago deep dish pizza from Costco and it worked extremely well. Thin crust pizza not so much, a lot of care need to prevent thin crust from burning but that's like any other thin crust pizza. What a great little oven! Popped it onto the grip warmed it up to 500 slide in our pizza - follow directions for cooking, it was perfect! We cooked the second one while we ate the first - family hit!

The oven was a gift and has 2 defective parts. A month ago the response from Caprihom was to contact them at their website....the website they gave me said no such site.     • Our first foray into pizza ovens
Size: 12" Pizza Oven for Grill
With all the rage around pizza ovens, I've been tempted to try one of the many brands and types available. They were all a bit more expensive then this, and honestly I felt like the whole concept might be a "one and done" type of activity. I'd say that this was "ok". I'm not sure that is a knock against the product itself as it seems to be quality enough, but putting it on the grill is probably a bit of a inefficient way to heat a pizza over since so much heat escapes from the grill. The other issue is that while it is big enough for one pizza at a time, everyone wants to make their own pizza, so the activity took forever and everyone seemed to be eating at different times. I think that if we decide we enjoy this, we'd probably invest in something dedicated to wood fired pizzas that is a big bigger. Again, it worked "ok" but was not such a great taste or experience that I'd be super excited to try it again. ... show more

This fit perfect on my grill. Not sure how long it took to reach temperature because my grill was showing lower than number than what the pizza stone was at. Packaging was great and secure. My stone did come with a chip on it. It wasn't in the box so chipped before packed. It feels solid in weight but still easy to move around with the side divot handles. The pictures are of the pizza and calzone. I cooked them separately. Pizza first and for some reason I thought it would glide off the pizza spatula onto the grill. So next time I'll see if I can safely remove the stone out a bit and place on it or really flour up the bottom so it doesn't stick. I burned the pizza but the calzone was perfect. Clean up was pretty easy. The carrying case was a little surprising, like where would I travel with this but I've taken it to friends house and it came in handy and I'm taking it camping next month. This is perfect for entertaining and for just a fun pizza night with family. I've just been cooking calzones because I can cook 2 at a time. But will conquer pizza again when camping. ... show more

The idea of a pizza oven for the grill made a lot of sense to me. It through me though when the instructions say to close the grill cover because it makes me wonder why I do t just buy a pizza stone and cook it in the grill? That said, it may be that the pizza oven concentrates and holds the heat more evenly and I will post an update after my first cooking experience to tell you how it worked. I was unhappy with the fit and finish of the oven. I noticed right away that although the base of the oven is well painted, that the surface underneath the paint is rough - so I worry that the paint won’t hold up. Second, there is a noticeable “ding” from what looks like a drill tip on the top front of the oven and lastly, the handle of the pizza peel was poorly glued into the threaded insert and fell out as soon as I tightened into the peel blade handle. I’m still hopeful that the oven will cook a Superior pizza than a grill alone - stay tuned. UPDATE: Made pizzas with this and the oven does do a nice job! It acts like a heat concentrator and although the temp in the grill goes up and down when opening the lid, this oven maintains a great baking temperature. Only suggestion: Cook at 400-450 F - NOT 500. The crust cooks too fast when that hot. Otherwise - very good pizza! ... show more
