Engineers like to use the phrase: “matched impedance.” Then they throw up some equations to make their point further. Applying this principle to the HTPick paddle, it means this paddle is intended for those having fast twitch muscles. This is a very light paddle leading to lively kitchen line play. Quite a few pickle ball players are converted tennis players who emotionally cannot leave the baseline. The HTPick is not for this group of players. Countering at the kitchen line is but one aspect of pickle ball. In play, the paddle is balanced. The carbon fiber ‘skins’ seem bonded well to the honeycomb core. All my shots were as expected. I did not sense any extraordinary pop or dead spots on the paddle. Of special note is the extraordinary amount of surface grit. Manufacturers engineer the level of grit by using a peel ply ’scrim’ that is removed revealing a rough surface. Most paddle grit is like 200 grit sandpaper. The HTPick is like 120 grit sandpaper. Grit is like having a reliable wingman. Shots have more character. And every now and then, you hit a goofy spinney winner – all due the grit. The HTPick uses raw carbon fiber in its manufacture. What does this mean? A raw bar is a place to eat raw oysters. Does this mean raw carbon fiber is uncooked? The truth is nobody really knows what raw carbon fiber has to do with pickle ball paddles. Ignoring the marketing fluff, the HTPick does seem to meld the carbon fiber skins with the underlying core. You are getting a solid paddle. The HTPick has an edgeless design with an aero throat and its presentation is excellent. So too is the packaging, which is neat and speaks of the quality product contained inside. I am really impressed with not only the quality of this paddle, but also the value it brings to the table. My everyday paddle is a Selkirk Omega with an open throat design, and when I saw this on Vine, I had to test it out. This paddle is not only incredibly well made, but the design is really spot on for me. I love the way it feels in my hand, and the grip is really nice and grippy without being too sticky in your hand. The weight teeters right around 8 oz on my electronic food scale and it plays and hits almost identically to my SLK Omega. The open throat gives the paddle a bit more aerodynamic ability and I can really put extra power on the swing when I need to since the air passes through the open throat. The core is 16mm poly honeycomb and T700 face is grippy and hits great. Putting spin on the ball is easy and the sweet spot is a good size. I paid over double the cost of this for my Omega, and I am just really impressed at how this paddle performs at this price. I didn't have high expectations, but I am blown away and will be making this my number 2 paddle in my rotation of 5 paddles that I play with regularly. I would absolutely recommend this paddle. It's well made, plays great and brings really good value to the table!

The T700 Carbon Fiber Pickleball Paddle with Aero Throat by HTPICK, is a well-made, good quality paddle that brings many great abilities to the court, making it a worthy consideration. Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and a few things to consider before buying. I. Quality – It’s a very well-made paddle that appears to be made out of good quality materials. I’d put this one in the lower side of the upper tier of the quality scale for pickleball paddle and guess it should hold up very well over time. II. Performance – It’s worked great with my style of play by providing a very responsive and solid feedback. It has a large sweet spot and it generates a lot of power with the T700 carbon fiber face. I also really like the Aero style paddles that seem to cut through the air better with less resistance. The grip feels nice in my hands, seems to reduce shock to some degree and has been durable. It’s noticeable light weight at 225 grams. It’s a nice bonus that it comes with two handle rubbers and a face cover. Overall, this is a great choice for me that I have incorporated into my playtime and very much enjoy using. It’s a great paddle that would work well for any level of player. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it. If you’d find it helpful to see an up-close visual inspection of this product, I recommend you watch my included video in full screen. They say a picture is worth a 1000 words, well it’s a video! You can trust that this review is simply my honest opinion that is attempting to provide you with helpful insight that I wish I had before I picked this product. I like this paddle so far. It’s much better than the cheap paddles that come in all the beginner sets being sold. This offers much more spin and ball control due to its surface texture, and it has a more consistent and broader sweet spot. It’s also very light and comfortable to hold. The extra grip tape for the handle was also a nice touch as you can easily replace it as it wears out or simply change the color to your liking.

When I first played with this paddle, I was absolutely let down. I could not find the sweet spot and therefore also thought it had no pace/power. Well, I "weighed" it to duplicate my regular paddle, and then it was amazing. What a difference it made to me. I now really like this paddle. Not only did I find the sweet spot, but I was able to put pace on the ball, spin and, above all, control (soft game). My philosophy is it’s not always the paddle but the player using the paddle. Yes, you should keep pace and take advantage of the newest technical improvements but must definitely “play and drill” with your new paddle, so both you and your paddle adapt to your abilities. This paddle allows me to deliver pace, control and spin as I need. I now really like this HTPICK model, and it has replaced my regular paddle. This HTPICK paddle is pretty much an identical knockoff (design and looks) to the American made SELKIRK paddle and for the money it is a very good paddle. It’s responsive to all facets of Pickleball play and I enjoy playing with it. I’d recommend it and give it a 4.7.
