I’ve been using the 3K Raw Carbon Fiber Pickleball Paddle (16mm, Carbon-Black) for a while now, and it has completely elevated my game. I have been using this paddle for a bit now and I am really happy with it. I really like how it's easy to spin the ball. The paddle is really comfortable to hold. I like that the grip is solid and I like how I am able to control the ball. I noticed how my ball returns are being accurately placed in the opponent's court. When I received this AugOcean paddle I thought my search was over for a quality backup paddle to my beloved 6.0 Double Black Diamond. Right out of the package the paddle looked and felt perfect. It is a beautiful paddle. It has clean black face unmarred by someone's idea of "art" painted over the face with a sand texture added for spin, which generally either chips or wears off quickly. The look and feel of the face is impressive for someone like me who plays with a lot of spin, with a beautiful carbon fiber weave and rough surface. The handle just felt custom made to fit my hand and had a good grip and the weight/balance felt just right. The paddle is USA pickleball approved. The cover that comes with the paddle is well made and has an attached strap to allow it to be hung up. In short, I couldn't wait to get it on the court with what I thought would be a great paddle. Unfortunately, before I could get on the court with the paddle my wife fell and broke her arm near the shoulder, which put me in caregiver mode and stopped my pickleball sessions for several weeks. When I was able to go back to playing, I found I couldn't get this paddle to do anything for me that I expected of it. I am not a banger, and rely on spin, a good consistent strong serve, and control of shot placement. I couldn't get my usual style to work with this paddle, finding it lacking expected spin and control. After playing a couple of embarrassing games, I pulled my trusty 6.0 DBD out of the bag, but failed to do much better. I would like to blame the paddle for my poor play but, in all honesty, I think it was user error and not the paddle that bears the fault. Judging a paddle is a matter of both objective and subjective factors. I personally don't feel this paddle is right enough for me to invest the time and effort to adjust to the paddle. However, I think this AugOcean paddle would be an excellent choice for folks looking for a good post-beginner paddle, with the all-around needed qualities and potential to take them into the intermediate ranks.
